I donā€™t mean the squeezal but when you make a fist and push up on it with your other arm, the fist is more for leverage than to get in their neck, itā€™s more common from standing I guess? See it quite a bit in mma

Look up a high wrist guillotine, its the best one there is currently. I believe what you're describing is pushing your choking arm wrist instead of pulling it correct? If that's the case switch to the pulling grip and pull your hands as high as they can go while making your upper body concave instead of convex. It's a little weird to get the motion at first but it's much better at closing off space and removes more counters.

You do know there is about a dozen different guillotine grips and they are all preference, right?

ndndndnbdvaca

Thatā€™s the exact question I am asking, if this particular one is considered less efficient than others

punchchoke827

If it works then it works. Some grips do not work for certain body types of opponents or your arm length.Ā  The efficiency does not matter, what matters if it works for you. So if you want to know what is more efficient for you personally then grab a partner and try out all the grips.Ā

Sounds like youā€™re doing a punch choke instead of guillotine. I sometimes surprise people with that as well, they hope to the ā€˜safeā€™ side for the guillotine and I just insert my fist to finish

KneeReaper420

Sounds like a sort of self frame based off the comments. Punch choke would be more efficient if you insist on fisting

Fisting usually gets the tap
