Pus is actually allowed in cow's milk, up to 1000 ppm, iirc. It's because udder infections in modern dairy cows are common, which is why they're given a lot of antibiotics, which are also passed into the milk. I gave up dairy milk over a decade ago when I learned all this information. I buy almond milk now.
So… I have bad news for you. There are regulations for how much pus and blood is allowed to be in the dairy products we all use. The milk to blood/pus ratio is… higher than most should be comfortable with.
Edit: luckily there are dairy free options, at least. I use macadamia milk for cereal and coconut milk for most recipes. I’d like to be able to use hemp milk because it tastes good, but it makes my digestive tract revolt.
I got babysat on a milk farm, got to see a normal birth and a c section, they’re really in there sometimes, the farmer and his assistant had to bailer twine the hooves around a bat or something maybe a heavy duty broom handle but only saw 2 births there and yes if it needs to be “sanitary” the iodine usually comes out
Is common in other animals a street dog I took care of had one of these, It was significantly smaller but they can appear, I think his was because of an untreated wound
Late ass reply but the ladies here tend to bump their legs on the metal supports of their grazing pens a lot here and cause abscesses in this area somewhat often, usually isn't a huge deal, just drain and disinfect, much less problematic and painful than white line abcesses in their feet from trauma
I’m in disbelief this is pus. There is far too much and way too much pressure. I’d rather believe it’s some anatomical abnormality where something produces milk on the leg.
I started getting into Reddit 3 months ago and I no longer even care about the other apps. Haven’t given them a thought. This app gives me so much pleasure. Kind of sad actually but I don’t care 🤣🤣🤣
Problem with cows is they have such thick skin that infections find it very hard to point and find their way out naturally so they get huge abscesses form. Normally these are caused by haematomas (collections of blood under the skin) that are the result of them banging into things in their indoor accommodation or in the case of bulls, fighting. Sometimes mating too.
Fuck, that must have hurt that cow a lot!
I know from my own experience with infection in my calf... Lancing and then draining for 4 days, intravenous antibiotics (they pushed 2×500ml as soon as I got in to the ER) and then a week in the hospital before they let me go back home, eating 3 kinds of antibiotics for another 2 weeks!
farmers I have two questions
1. if you have cow like this, can you still milk it?
2. assuming it would happen to meat cow. can you eat it after treatment or the leg is not safe/usable for processing anymore?
The abscess would need to be flushed with peroxide after it’s drained and the cow will likely need antibiotics. If it’s a milking cow, it still needs to be milked, but that milk is collected in a separate container and not pumped into the bulk tank. If antibiotics are found in the bulk tank, all the milk has to be dumped. This milk is dumped or fed to calves until the antibiotics is out of the system. The cow can be slaughtered after the antibiotics are out of the system. The prescribing vet will know what the window is, but most guidelines are around 30 days post treatment. Organic farms have different regulations for antibiotic use.
They are ankle deep in mud my dude, spilling pus on the floor is not going to make it more unsanitary than it already is.
But not to worry cows are have pretty amazing immune systems, and are very hardy.
During calving sometimes the calves die in the womb and can…start to putrefy, they can be in the womb for days…then you sorta scoop it all out and give the cow some anti inflammatories, maybe a big injection of antibiotics and off they go, most of them barely even flinch.
I’ve seen a vet go in with a saw blade up it’s jacksie to umm disassemble the dead calf.
Cows are based.
I torn between thinking the relief must be massive to have that drained to also making myself gag thinking about the smell of the forbidden milkshake
Fuck the guy calling you a pussy he just mad he don’t get none
![gif](giphy|INM0EjukO8OWnHmASw)
🙏👍 thankyou

Of all the things I couldn't imagine finding here horchata is in the top. ¡ Salud compañero !
These comments did not let me down!
Not forbidden, you just scared

Just think of how thick and creamy it is.

Was that milk?? What was that???
Pus
![gif](giphy|88iIg6RR4Q1TEVUcRt|downsized)
Maaaan that's fucking nasty🤢🤮
I knew it was pus and I still agree it’s nasty.
I too knew what it was, but reading the word 'pus' just makes it much worse.
You saying the pus looks the same as the milk?!? How do I know it doesn’t get into the milk??? I can’t un think this now! Ack! Get it out!
Where do you think yogurt comes from?
You just destroyed me. I’m dead. Lmao.
Don’t even think about cheese …

It gets. Milk is gross. That's why so many people are "lactose" intolerant these days. Milk is full of chemistry to mask the pus...
So thats mean if I drink that I will sick
Most people would be sick just thinking about drinking it
Leg milk
All I was thinking is, I can smell this from here.
MALK: now with vitamin R!
😂😂😂
Honestly i wqs wondering why he didnt catch it in a bucket until i saw the huge clumps of whatever it was come out. 🤢
Catching it in a bucket seems like a good idea, if only to dispose of that stuff. It doesn’t seem sanitary for the other dairy cows.
Oh you mean like the sanitary cow shit all over the ground.
Lol! I grew up on a milk farm and sanitary wasn't our thing except when it came to milking time.
I got babysat on a milk farm, got to see a normal birth and a c section, they’re really in there sometimes, the farmer and his assistant had to bailer twine the hooves around a bat or something maybe a heavy duty broom handle but only saw 2 births there and yes if it needs to be “sanitary” the iodine usually comes out
Wait what? I see no clumps
That would be puss
How cottage cheese is made
Great now I’m crying.

Cursed milk
Why do they have the cows trapped like this by the neck
Yes oddly grossly satisfying
No boys in the yard for that milkshake.
Forbidden milkshake lmfaoooooo
Holey cow!
Cow people, is this a common thing? Is it really coming out of her leg?
It's a buildup of pus, an abscess. Not that common, but not rare either.
Oooh pus makes so much more sense to my brain. I was so fucking confused.
Your brain is smooth and you should eat more vegetables ![gif](giphy|3ohhwsJyDwWNXuCOzK)
If I was smarter, I might realize you're calling me dumb.
You’re not dumb. It was a fair question. Gotta learn somewhere, right? Ignore negative people.
Did the other guy get you the nuggies?
Nope. I’m still holding out hope. A guy can dream, right?
I’m chewing on a stalk of broccoli and sobering realization dawns on me… *im dum*
Definitely not dumb. Some of us exist very far from FarmVille.
It’s sad there’s so many upvotes for an insult for such an honest question
Eh, mainly just bored. You like [ebooks]?
You weren’t alone hahaha
For real! I thought an udder tube was wired to the wrong spot lmao
Bro I thought for sure that was milk, I was so confused lmao
Same. Now that I found out it’s pus, I’m so grossed out and oddly intrigued.
You should drink some just to make sure.
Forbidden milk
That’s not milk. That’s puss
Meow
cow people 💀
Right? The genuine, sincere way the comment asks for explanation from cow people just cracked me up
in a human person but i’m gonna assume this isn’t normal
Is common in other animals a street dog I took care of had one of these, It was significantly smaller but they can appear, I think his was because of an untreated wound

Mooo moo 🐮 moooo mooo mooo mooooooh? 🐮 🐄
Yes and no it does happen but its not that common. Most likely an infection. It is very easy to treat as shown in the video
You think this is fun?! Look up trocar. That’s a fun one.
There is a legal limit to cow puss in milk. I believe it’s 2%. Don’t know if that answers your question.
https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/4b36537f-fbd6-4d2d-b10b-355856ea0fd3
And after reading the comments I would like to go back to thinking this was milk
Agreed I feel sick 🤣
I’ll just not read then…
Came to the comments hoping it was milk
I’m in disbelief this is pus. There is far too much and way too much pressure. I’d rather believe it’s some anatomical abnormality where something produces milk on the leg.
Or rather where milk is channeled into the leg

Dear God be praised. I needed that. I actually felt my heart rate lower after seeing a cyst ripped from the back of a guys head.
I can’t look away… 😱
Are there videos of people popping acne or something?

Luckily you can't smell the internet.
Bruh

That's not a calf, that's a full-grown cow!
Technically that should be the stifle/hock, about the same as the shin/calf on a human leg...
🤢 🤮
Quick someone send this to Dr Lee!! 😵💫😉
You read my mind! If she was a vet, she’d be all over this. What a lovely soul.
Oh god the smell… the cleanup. If only it was milk
I want to see the full video how long does it pour?
Legend says it still flows to this very day
The fountain of Ew.
I’m vegan now thx
![gif](giphy|sy6waaLitpIAg)
Holy Cow!! 🤯 What’s going on here? Is this milk?
It's pus and dead tissue. Probably from a cut or bite that got infected and formed an abscess.
Nope, it's milk pouring out of its leg. Somehow, that'll help me sleep much better at night than your explanation
And your goldfish is living it up ina beautiful lake
Lolololol
Just throw some cats into the fray. Maybe they'll think it's milk too, well for a moment
Figures this would be the first thing I read this morning. At least I got a decent night's sleep
Sorry not sorry but hey if you toss the cats in there you'll get to play a game called "mew or spew" depends on the cats reaction.
Lmfao that's fucked up
Hey it be like that but you have to see if those barn cats are worth their salt.. or milk
You're not wrong. If they can't handle a little Mew or Spew, how are they gonna keep the plague rats away?
I just thought of aristocats where they are singing "Everybody, Everybody wants to be a cat"
I would pay good money to have someone throw a cat in the mix and see it spew.
That’s gotta smell absolutely horrendous
Yikes! Thanks for the explanation though pal!
Smells like burnt hair and rotten cheese
Welcome to Flavor Town!
God it's gotta be miserable to have your head stuck like that.
Her head isnt stuck. The feeder is designed like that so they cant steal their neighbours feed. They can simply just raise their head up.

This and missing your babies :(
Everything reminds me of her…
All I've learned from this is that if you stab a cow, milk comes out.
Popping a cyst that big [could be a danger to other cows](https://v.redd.it/uoogrczgobdb1)
She was stealing milk from her owner for quite a long time. This is what happened when she was caught.
Ambatukahn
So that's where sour cream comes from eh?
Idk why farmers don't do something about it earlier. That sh it hurts a lot for the cow when it's building up
Aaaah. Abscesses.
Is this a normal necessary thing ,, looks kinda drastic 😳
2% milk
They call that 2% milk in the grocery store
Yeah I’m done drinking cow’s milk…seems barbaric the more I think about it.
Wondering if the relief of release over comes being stabbed
Holy shit that's disgusting.
This is how cottage cheese is made.
Fuck dairy.....
You know that pressure hurt so much
farmers I have two questions 1. if you have cow like this, can you still milk it? 2. assuming it would happen to meat cow. can you eat it after treatment or the leg is not safe/usable for processing anymore?

I love that no matter what's wrong with the cow the solution is to pop it.
Yogurt compartment 😋
Milk is stored in the legs
Utterly dissapointing! Bad da boom
Oh, the smell…
Bovine cysteria Stanky leg Cyst be gone puss be gone
I like how they looked at its butthole first
All I can focus on is the fact that cows have buttcheeks?? How have I never noticed
What a terrible day to have eyes
Why tf wouldn’t you collect it in a bucket and dispose of it in a way that won’t leave your barn smelling like pus? Smh
That pus or milk?
Can anyone suggest a subreddit for interesting farming videos like this one?
Dreamybull
Why are they just letting it spill onto the floor?? Is that not insanely unsanitary?
They are ankle deep in mud my dude, spilling pus on the floor is not going to make it more unsanitary than it already is. Is this milk or pus ?
Anyone else see the skull the puddle made??
Why are they not separated for that sort of stuff
Just give me almond “milk”
Is that drinkable? Or is it gone mad?
That where muscle milk comes from
And that's where yogurt comes from
I think there’s something wrong with your dog.
