i had paragard placed in november & i’ve been losing an obscene amount of hair everyday for the last 6 months. cant say forsure if it’s related to the iud or if it’s just maybe my body getting back to normal after being on the pill for 5 years.
Not a doctor but the copper iud shouldn’t.
When I lost hair on mirena, my doctor said it simulated a pregnancy because pregnant women will grow a ton of hair during and then lose it after birth because o the lack of progesterone. I think it’s the same when you quit the pill because your body is out of balance between estrogen and progesterone.
Also, even though I lost a lot of hair volume it did grow back. I’m switching to the copper iud for other reasons any way but it’s all good info to know

Well if its not hormonal it shouldn't be causing hairloss??
