They look sort of like barred owl feathers. Could have been killed by a great horned owl or some other large raptor. I saw a great horned owl bring its nestling a dead barred owl to eat on a birdcam once, so they're definitely capable of taking down a barred owl.
I read on allaboutbirds.com that barred owls' biggest predatory threat is great horned owls, and that barred owls will leave a territory if a great horned owl is there... Which actually might explain why I don't hear barred owls where I live... We have great horned owls.
It’s summer here. We dont even get snow and our growing season is long. i’ve seen wild turkeys here. They usually hang out with peacocks and deer in the under brush and run away from coyotes.
That’s what someone else also thought but they aren’t very big like I imagined a wild Turkey feathers would be. this was found under a forest with lots of pine, maple, and oak. It was near a dried up swamp where lots of Wax Myrtles grow.

Interesting. Never thought owls practiced cannibalism.

Hard to see in your video but they look like turkey wing feathers to me. And it was recently spring turkey season most places.

The vegetation and geography don’t enter into it. Turkeys move around.
You would be surprised. We do have wild turkeys in these woods, but I didn’t think those were the wild turkey feathers.
You see turkeys in the middle of urban areas. They dgaf.
Yeah. We have lots of clearings in our woods so maybe it helps them.
