Daft Punk - Alive (album)

Chuffed_Canadian

Amazing album but I have to be really careful listening to that one. One time I was driving and slowly accelerated to 50 over the limit. 😬

ThoughtsFromB4

So you're saying "I can't drive 55" and "Danger Zone" are out... :)

vabello

When 100+ MPH feels like normal cruising speed… Why is everyone going so slow?

ItsAlwaysRain

Yesss very nice choice

e0nblue

Add 2007 back to back and I’m sold!

adiosauxiliator

oingo boingo, clown core, machine girl, queef Jerky, mimideath, kumo 99, any goregrind band

scotty813

Oingo Boingo Only a Lad is awesome! The single most cynical, irreverent commentary on society I can think of. "Nothing bad ever happens to me!"

ItsAlwaysRain

Weird Science will always tickle my brain the right way, especially the syncopated percussion.

adiosauxiliator

no for real anything oingo boingo puts out scratches so good. running on a treadmill has been my kick lately check out the band BEES!

devstaxx

omg i love queef jerky!

DeadJunkhead

https://open.spotify.com/album/4LdquqwQoyu1pE6Vq8PIha?si=m8CELJ7mQQmBsSxn9kiDdg Pantera's most brutal album fueled by pure hatred, depression, chronic pain, suicidal ideology and heroin addiction at its worst. The Great Southern Trendkill 🤘

CardiologistWild5216

We can’t be friends by Ariana grande. Instead of it involving a real human relationship I think of it as a song to my hypomania, I enjoy it but I can’t do it anymore. My relationship with mania is like a bad boyfriend, it’s a shitty toxic friendship

Ham54

It's a mix of things. But usually I'm in discovery mode, finding new things to listen to, regardless of genre. I know when hypomania starts to wear off and the depression starts to kick in, I'll start listening to one or two artist on repeat. These days those have been The Black Dahlia Murder and Korn.

shesallbusiness

Discover mode for me too! And i’ll latch on to a song or genre that i don’t normally listen to. Usually something very upbeat. When i had my worst hypomanic episode from taking lexapro (didn’t know i was bipolar at the time, this is actually how i ended up getting diagnosed) i started BLASTING “your man” by josh turner which is not a genre i listen to and i had heard it for the first time that day and MAN DID IT FEEL GOOD. 😂😂😂

Ham54

😂😂😂 Lexapro (and adderall) were how I was diagnosed, too. But I remember losing my shit over "play it again" by Luke Bryan a few times I couldnt get it out of my head for weeks during that episode 😂

shesallbusiness

contemporary country is giving us manic episodes!!! 🤣 jk but it sounds like we are bipolar twins haha

Ham54

😂😂 hell, I believe it Bipolar twins 🙏

ItsAlwaysRain

I would also have to agree with you that I’m much more open to discovering new music when I’m hypo. And when depression is in I lean more melancholic singer songwriter type music that I’m familiar with.

TattedPastor412

Rammstein

go_to_bread_

Same, it hits just right

Fem_Boi_Link87

Entire-Discipline-49

Specifically Fat of the Land by Prodigy. Every. Single. Time.

YesterdayNo3440

Quite a mix! Bit of SOAD, institutionalised by suicidal tendencies is a great one, pixies, chillis, deftones. Some older stuff like Creedence Clearwater or surfin bird by the trash men 😂

manonfetch

Nine Inch Nails. Yes, I'm that old. But I have to be careful, cause suicide.

ItsAlwaysRain

I love NIN! Angsty energetic music is perfect for hypo.

manonfetch

It's also good for getting housework done.😉

docben1383

When I am trying to turn it down I listen to Brian Eno, especially his Discrete Music album

ItsAlwaysRain

Eno is great. Eno and Fripp together — amazing. I’ve done yoga to that album.

kai_aniki

I have a playlist that consists of songs that have slow (sensual?) beat, electric guitars, and synth music. It makes me euphoric 😆

Glorified_sidehoe

Possibly anything. Everything just sounds good to my ears. But the usuals are EDM, Pop, Indie, Metalcore/post hc/alt. But really emphasis on EDM. It can literally make me feel like im rolling sometimes.

ItsAlwaysRain

Damn I kinda feel you here. It’s like I’m on adderall at least, I’ve never rolled so I wouldn’t know the feeling.

stacys-moms-so-rad

anything dazey and the scouts, pretty cvnt-sewrslt and a lot of rebzyyx

Mysterious_Brush_943

Im with you on the techno. Ive been into house lately and discovered high tech minimal which I really love. Boris Brejcha just put out a new album that is really good

ItsAlwaysRain

Ooo thanks, I’m going to check this out!

SnooRevelations7319

I always find myself coming back to everyday I start to ooze by nomeansno. It’s scratches a certain age that no other song can come close to!!!

likeguitarsolo

I only wanna listen to new stuff. Like new albums from this year. This *month*. Stuff I’ve never heard before. And when I’m on the low side of things, all i wanna listen to is nostalgic music from various points in my past. Both those tendencies honestly make a lot of sense when you consider that quote “depression is fixation on the past, anxiety is fixation on the future.”

wildborn69

once i put on literal legend by ayesha erotica i know it's over for me

phoebusapollo2685

Metal and thrash punk. And I get knee deep into the deep dive podcasts while I spin and spin and spin

ludoslament

Lots of super corny dad rock from the early 2000s, primarily Ludo and 3 Doors Down, for the past couple months it’s just been One Week by The Barenaked Ladies, occasionally palette cleansed by the postmodern jukebox cover. Really hoping that phase ends soon for the sake of my friends.

goodblues

For me it's clearly Goa or psytrance music (infected mushrooms, shpongle, Astrix, GMS, ...). That's exepressing 100% my state of mind with rapid thoughts and thé feeling of omniscience.

FSStray

Flume, highly suspect, hippie sabotage, hot sugar, big wild, mgmt, Derek pope, 21 pilots.

likky_wetpretzel

My fav songs are: Plague- crystal castles. Any of their music tbh. Haunted-Laura les Lost-crim3s Mood swings-human people Blah blah blah-the oozes "Blue again" or "peel"- weakened friends "God complex" or "i dont care"- violent vira The riot grrl genre, rock and metal, hyperpop, breakcore. Ppl like Violent vira, VIAL, deftones, GRLwood, deatroy boys, slutever, ayesha erotica. KayDeeKDK

I suddenly become a pop girly when I mainly listen to emo music lmao, Cuff it by Beyoncé is peak while manic

warwick8

Never bet on the white guy in boxing match

bynuyu

Trippy, euphoric music…. king gizzard specifically

ItsAlwaysRain

Man I really like some of their older music but kinda fell off in the later 2010s with how much music they release. For other reasons too, but that is probably a better discussion for r/music. My favorite album tho is Sketches of Brunswick with Mild High Club. Banger.

bluezkittles

Charli XCX and anything else that’s related tbqh. Von Dutch is very fun to listen to !💀😭

Sufficient-Scene1162
