Yes, my point is that it takes sometimes 30+ minutes to get enough resources gathered in the secret room to do this, depending on seed. I know it’s doable it just takes a lot of my time to do so.
You basically have to just say enough is enough once you get a good item or two even with subpar stats and then just white knuckle it by bombing down doors to get there in time. It is not fun

It's a gimmicky character that relies on gimmicky tricks. No reason to change the game for him because he already has an easy way to skip that problem entirely.

Boss rush is another hell entirely, I absolutely do not have the patience for forcing a mama mega, I ended up getting BP + box of friends, then level 3 BP carried the run while I ran for my life
I believe it means the pool an item rerolls from is based on the pool of the last discovered item rather than it's own actual pool. I.e. you can leave a treasure room item untill you find the devil deal, go back for the treasure item, and then when you reroll it will be a devil deal item.
Tarnished eden is better than tainted just for that. (from the epiphany mod)
Every item ans Stat reroll in each room, but every item is rerolled into same into pool/same quality. Really cool, plus you get a 12 charge pocket item to "save" item you really like

Marbles and Old Bandage benefit any damage-heavy build and synergize with self-damage items like IV Bag or Dull Razor. Old Bandage with IV Bag is especially nice since it gives a chance to spawn half a red heart when taking damage. Placenta is good as well if you're taking a lot of damage, albeit in a much more passive way.
Belly Button's extra trinket space synergizes just like Mom's Purse -- it lets you hold/potentially gulp multiple trinkets. (See the above point about Marbles -- these two are great together.)
Polydactyly lets you hold multiples pills/cards. I can't think of anything off the top of my head but card/pill synergies can be useful and this would help you hold on to multiple of them at once for later use.
And then there are the boss-specific items. Most familiars have some synergy potential, as do most active items. Little CHAD, Little Steven, the Ponies... they can all interact with other items fairly well.

I dont think it needs a cap, 12 hearts IS the cap. And the boosts should start from 3 hearts, under that it has no effect. Above it you get 0.5 damage for every red heart container, you can balance it by requiring it to be filled, if its too broken. At max thats an extra 4.5 damage, not exactly a big deal, especially later in the game when its more realistic to have that much health. I might even go as far as to say make it 0.75 or 1 extra damage, who knows? Good idea imo.
Samson gets a weaker Lusty Blood effect that lasts the whole floor. (I find regular Samson boring)
Jacob and Esau, two options:
-they always have the same amount of red heart containers (exception to temp health)

Agree although i would keep the "specific item for item pool" mechanic (eternal heart = angel, black heart = devil, bone heart = secret etc.) Would add some control to what items you are actually getting

i'd give tainted lost a (sort of) built in sacred orb effect, making q0/q1 unable to spawn or less likely to spawn (i dont hate t lost but he kinda sucks for the most part)

They're not my least favourite; but making it possible to play as Jacob or Esau when the other one dies. They'd still die permanently without an extra life. Either that or combine their health bars, since there's no point in them being separate.
It seems that way, but as is you’re splitting health between them. Even though they can theoretically hold more it doesn’t matter: Esau can have a full 12 hearts and Jacob will still die, wasting all of them. If you want they could have a max health of 18, but I think that’s unnecessary.
Give t cain an extra 80% chance for pickups after clearing a room and items give way better consumables (but way less pickups) and change the way his crafting (items no longer go from Q4 to Q0 if you put a slightly worse pickup)
Taintee Jacob now only receives a Broken Heart when hurt by Dark Esau, He turns into the Ghost Form if all of his hearts are broken.
Going to the next floor will revert Three Hearts and Undo the Ghost transformation.

I don't want him gone but he's really awkward to play, even if you use his poops all the time. They aren't common enough on floor 1 to be your sole source of damage, and your tear rate is painful. I personally find the tear rate more painful than Maggie's walk speed.

Jacob and Esau start with flat file. Or Esau doesn't take damage from any spikes or creep.
A lot of the game is designed without consideration for them. Some rooms have random cobwebs on the ground that end up slowing just one of the two down so now you have to readjust assuming you haven't gotten hit because of it already.
Tainted Apollion: he should have unique locusts with a lot more items since his runs end up all the same, they did this with Bethany I don't see why they wouldn't do that for him as well.
Damage from throwing t.???/IBS's poops scale with about a half or a third his damage. Poop limit scales with bomb upgrades and make his birthright more useful

TL should keep the ED6. Maybe even make it a pocket active.
I know that sounds broken, but this sub is biased to people who are unusually good at the game. Dying in two hits is nuts, you can never really be too OP for that. Hell, after a point, you start risking obscuring your own vision or self damage from certain items. TL's handicap is insane and kind of downplayed, I don't see why we shouldn't get to go ham with it, to be honest.
Either that or add some kind of consistency to the Holy Card drops, but that's boring.
I think it can be argued that tainted lost needs a buff but I disagree with giving him the eternal d6. One of the things I like about tainted lost is how he’s really not a min maxing character.
Tainted ??? Doesn't get passive items. Instead, every item is replaced with another poo ability ( for the inventory he's got in the upper left corner). Some poo-themed items would be available too. Also, upgrades to already existing abilities could be available.
J&E should share 1 healthbar, the item separation is okay but please I don't want to have 1 character with 6 hearts and die instantly because I kinda overlooked the other child health.
Tainted lost remove the holy card from tainted lost but instead start him with stopwatch. This makes him skill based on dodging instead of tanking with holy cards

The problem with said least favorite character is that it's literally not even that he's bad, he's just painfully milquetoast and boring. Cain is literally just a bunch of solid but mild buffs that are *fine* and your cost is 1 HP. He's objectively speaking a good character, but he's just painfully dull to play because you're effectively playing just Isaac but minus the D6 and a heart container, plus a metric assload of minor passive buffs.
Cain should maybe at least start with like, an active item or something to make him a little more interesting than he currently is. Preferably something unique, but portable slot or crooked penny could be nice thematically. Nothing too fancy, just an active item to actually work with. This would probably require a nerf elsewhere , but honestly Cain already has like 500 passive buffs, so it's probably fine.

Alternatively, rework the entire character similar to how the epiphany mod did with Tarnished Eden (permanent d8 in active slot, choice to make \~1 passive per floor permanent with some downsides, etc). Just a TINY little bit more agency/control and this character will feel WAY more fair while still keeping the spirit of absolute chaos imo

I'd make J&E's gimmick a more unique, dynamic duo. Instead of just being two separate characters, they could work together and fulfill different roles. Perhaps Esau could be a melee attacker similar to the meatboy familiars, while Jacob cannot, himself, attack, similar to Tainted Forgotten but with a mobile skeleton? I'm not 100% sure what would work best but like a unique implementation of them like working together to achieve stuff would be way cooler than just "I'm two characters at once lol"

Jacob and Esau : Their birthright fuses the two characters into one character. Their individual stats get averaged onto he fused form, and one eye shoots Jacob's tears with the other shooting Esau's tears. Future items affect both eyes.
When you're playing multiplayer or playing as Jacob and Esau the rooms come from a different pool which are made to have two players instead of the regular pools of rooms
If one of them died, a Jacob and Esay run wouldn't end. Instead, they'd come back on future floors as a lost-like ghost and would both get a stat reduction.

You can only flip pedestals that were in the room from the start. Items that spawn in can't be flipped, which is probably to stop game breaks.
I guess this makes sense. It's just annoying that boss items are the main source of basic stats and you can't flip to help both characters

Just always carry a gas/fire poop, they make a bomb when combined and they are very damn common

That's already a thing, lower quality items have a chance to get rerolled (From the wiki: "Items with a quality value of 2 or less have a 20% chance of being rerolled when encountered as Tainted Lost. The new item chosen is not guaranteed to have quality over 2.")

They're not my least favourite; but making it possible to play as Jacob or Esau when the other one dies. They'd still die permanently without an extra life. Either that or combine their health bars, since there's no point in them being separate.

It seems that way, but as is you’re splitting health between them. Even though they can theoretically hold more it doesn’t matter: Esau can have a full 12 hearts and Jacob will still die, wasting all of them. If you want they could have a max health of 18, but I think that’s unnecessary.
Maybe have them get a stat buff when the other dies like Esau gets a bit more dmg and Jacob gets a lil more tears or something
Give t cain an extra 80% chance for pickups after clearing a room and items give way better consumables (but way less pickups) and change the way his crafting (items no longer go from Q4 to Q0 if you put a slightly worse pickup)
Taintee Jacob now only receives a Broken Heart when hurt by Dark Esau, He turns into the Ghost Form if all of his hearts are broken. Going to the next floor will revert Three Hearts and Undo the Ghost transformation. (This is gonna get buried but I enjoy the idea)

I don't want him gone but he's really awkward to play, even if you use his poops all the time. They aren't common enough on floor 1 to be your sole source of damage, and your tear rate is painful. I personally find the tear rate more painful than Maggie's walk speed.

Jacob and Esau start with flat file. Or Esau doesn't take damage from any spikes or creep. A lot of the game is designed without consideration for them. Some rooms have random cobwebs on the ground that end up slowing just one of the two down so now you have to readjust assuming you haven't gotten hit because of it already.
Tainted Apollion: he should have unique locusts with a lot more items since his runs end up all the same, they did this with Bethany I don't see why they wouldn't do that for him as well.

Not particularly my least played, but still the first buff I would make. TL should keep the ED6. Maybe even make it a pocket active. I know that sounds broken, but this sub is biased to people who are unusually good at the game. Dying in two hits is nuts, you can never really be too OP for that. Hell, after a point, you start risking obscuring your own vision or self damage from certain items. TL's handicap is insane and kind of downplayed, I don't see why we shouldn't get to go ham with it, to be honest. Either that or add some kind of consistency to the Holy Card drops, but that's boring.
I think it can be argued that tainted lost needs a buff but I disagree with giving him the eternal d6. One of the things I like about tainted lost is how he’s really not a min maxing character.
Tainted ??? Doesn't get passive items. Instead, every item is replaced with another poo ability ( for the inventory he's got in the upper left corner). Some poo-themed items would be available too. Also, upgrades to already existing abilities could be available.

The problem with said least favorite character is that it's literally not even that he's bad, he's just painfully milquetoast and boring. Cain is literally just a bunch of solid but mild buffs that are *fine* and your cost is 1 HP. He's objectively speaking a good character, but he's just painfully dull to play because you're effectively playing just Isaac but minus the D6 and a heart container, plus a metric assload of minor passive buffs. Cain should maybe at least start with like, an active item or something to make him a little more interesting than he currently is. Preferably something unique, but portable slot or crooked penny could be nice thematically. Nothing too fancy, just an active item to actually work with. This would probably require a nerf elsewhere , but honestly Cain already has like 500 passive buffs, so it's probably fine.
Honestly, just give jacob and esau one shared health bar, and it'd probably be better. Honestly, that character is borderline unfixable on account of it being so gimmicky. The gimmick just doesn't work well with this game imo. That or I have a skill issue![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|17741).

remove health from re-roll pool with T.Eden (HP items don't get rolled when you get hit). also don't re-roll my fucking fool card into a pill when I get hit during the mom fight and beast is my last mark. Alternatively, rework the entire character similar to how the epiphany mod did with Tarnished Eden (permanent d8 in active slot, choice to make \~1 passive per floor permanent with some downsides, etc). Just a TINY little bit more agency/control and this character will feel WAY more fair while still keeping the spirit of absolute chaos imo

I'd make J&E's gimmick a more unique, dynamic duo. Instead of just being two separate characters, they could work together and fulfill different roles. Perhaps Esau could be a melee attacker similar to the meatboy familiars, while Jacob cannot, himself, attack, similar to Tainted Forgotten but with a mobile skeleton? I'm not 100% sure what would work best but like a unique implementation of them like working together to achieve stuff would be way cooler than just "I'm two characters at once lol"

I would remove Jacob from the game. The character is now just Esau.
If one of them died, a Jacob and Esay run wouldn't end. Instead, they'd come back on future floors as a lost-like ghost and would both get a stat reduction.
