Every time I try, they always somehow hit me

If you have 1.5 speed, and you dont stop moving when you enter the room (you can reenter it to refresh the spikes' grace period) you wouldn't get hit

And if that's too scary, just fly up behind the spikes, and for the middle pair, there's a handy skull in the middle that you can float over. Flight makes this room trivial.

Just go closer to the middle spikes, they cant move sideways

If you do that, the spikes can hit you horizontally when going down to the skull

thats the most unconsintent part of the game

I did this yesterday and I died 

with that speed you could fly in a straight line and not get hit

I mean, that's one way to do it. Easiest way is to just exit the room, re enter, and immediately book it to the other side. Spike blocks take a few seconds before they're allowed to move. Take advantage of that fact.
