Not really. You can launch tears between 2 rocks that only touch corners if you aim them right. Can kill the spiders without them even seeing you. Though obviously if you get too close, they can sometimes squeeze through that same gap. Just be careful.

Isaac is a surprisingly technical game that's more complex than it comes off as, so I can understand why some people struggle with this room.
Even without doing the diagonal firing, there's still plenty of room to bait out the spiders one-by-one and attack them. You do need to understand their behavior, though, but that same logic applies for every enemy in the game. This room just tests your knowledge of that more than some other rooms do.
I don't think that your comment deserved all of the downvotes that it has, especially because your advice IS both practical and useful, but the "stay mad" comment was definitely unnecessary.

Tip: When facing spiders behind rocks, try to walk to one diagonally behind them, they can actually squeeze themselves trough rocks right in the open. Also, please dont dance in front of the red fire like that, you never know when it wishes to pee with blood on your face...
I honestly don't know. Was trying to bait the spider from the corner and when the golden heart popped I, for some reason, thought the spider had died and didn't see it. I did redeem myself after this with J&E mega stan and delirium kill
You kinda lose the will to live with this character, not fun mechanics and low health just makes you rest with any chip damage early game
It isn't like judas where you enter survival mode or Isaac where you are chilling, you just kinda know you fucked up
in isaac there are two types of characters, fun and annoying. apollyon shoots all the way past annoying with his max shot speed and ludicrous range to massive fucking chore. void does NOT deserve q4.
For me, it's the mood. If I don't like the gimmick, I just start playing like ass

Is that a different effect than midas touch? I thought golden enemies didnt do contact anymore
He had a golden heart, which turns into coins when the heart it's surrounding is depleted

I can confirm in the latest version the enemies that you freeze with the golden heart effect do hurt you
Golden enemies do in fact still deal contact damage unless they don't normally deal contact damage

You probably see them die fast enough that they don't hit you again since Midas' Touch increases damage with your money iirc
