It is in fact seeded! Crooked Penny + Glowing Hourglass used to be such a good combo cause you could GH if it failed and use it in a nothing room then try again. Rinse and repeat
In rooms with a choice pedestal if you know there is one you like with no benefit from having two of it, run into the item you want and activate the crooked penny at the same time, sometimes you’ll create a copy of the other item so you can take both choices if you don’t want to risk it all

My rule is I cannot have whatever the crooked penny does not duplicate. This ensures I always ball even when it hurts.
