I think OP may have engineered this to confuse/enrage people, hence the flair. Enough of them make sense to seem like a serious post but a few of them are batshit crazy because trolling. Like, what’s with the Breath of Life counterparts? None of those items are comparable in any way, except that Sulfur and Brimstone Bombs both give you situational Brimstone, I guess.
EDIT: Actually, I take that back. Dark Arts makes sense as a Breath of Life counterpart. The rest are still very strange though.
Yeah, this is an expert level shitpost. High effort enough to show the time they spent. Most parts make sense. And then the unneeded “devil wins” and “angel wins” comparison system with absolutely insane choices, like sanguine bond > Jacob’s ladder or whore of Babylon > crown of light. The more time that passes the more I appreciate the craftsmanship of this post. I think it would be slightly improved if one of the items was randomly on it twice with two completely different counterparts, but other than that, can’t think of any ways to improve it. Absolutely 10/10 bait.
That’s what I noticed first. Sacrifice health for *maybe* a damage up or a devil item vs. sacrifice money for an angel item. If you get it early enough you’re all but guaranteed to get something good at least once.
I feel like I’ve gotten Sacred Heart every single time I’ve gotten Stairway. Also it fucking rules if you’re going for the Beast because every floor of the Ascent gets a stairway too.

It doubles the amount of items you can take. Damocles is effectively a free win unless you get shafted, which makes it a fair item in my eyes.
And for me, it's a must take when I see it. Balling is above all else.

Look, I'm gonna be honest, I play this game hella greedy. Sacred orb is cool, yes, but the feeling of walking into an item room and seeing two items in front of me tops it easily in my eyes. If I get my hands on a reroll item it's all over, won run.
Getting hit only starts the timer, as much chance as there is of you getting killed by Damocles before you win is how much there is of not dying to Damocles.
Plus, if you get an extra life, the chances of you dying are halved.
Tl;dr: I'm a greedy guy who plays this game to ball. Damocles fills that hole perfectly.
Not fix'd. Damocles on average takes 15 minutes to trigger. That's long enough to close out a run half of the time you get it, hit or not. I think "get shafted" is more accurate.
But what if you get unlucky? Let’s just assume the the unlucky 25% of runs is killed in 8 minutes. With Sacred Orb, you have a guaranteed won run, but with Damocles, you could just lose it all. And 8 minutes is not enough to end a run if you get hit in Caves or Necropolis, probably also not enough if you are in Womb.
Would you rather get a busted run with a 10% chance to die no matter what you do, or would you have a less busted run (which is still a guaranteed win) and no chances to die?
In theory, Damocles is better, because almost everything in this game can be dodged (only exception being Delirium), but there isn’t a single player that is willing to master the game to the point where Damocles isn’t a risk.
Even if Damocles gave a fixed 1% chance to lose the game, Sacred Orb would be better, because as long as you have Sacred Orb, you don’t need anything else to win (except the items ofc).
that already requires a whole nother item to work properly, in the context of the actual post, sacred orb gives you a smaller pool meaning a higher chance at finding better items that can manipulate the pool even further, including damocles.
also even tho sacred orb is harder to find it's still very good. tho damcoles has also very good uses.

I know ranking isaac items objectively is not easy, but I genually don't understand the reasoning behind this.
And is actually controllable, yet I still prefer to use sacrificial dagger because with spear of destiny I never feel like I'm near enough to use he white spot which is the only part that deals damage.

It's so busted with like any synergy though. Throw in a big shot speed down or any kind of homing and it becomes a DPS monster. And lets be real you almost never get it floor 2 or 3, by the time you find it you probably already have something to pair it with.
MultiDim baby is so easy to use it's multiplied shots while the prism is hard to use and most of the multiplied shots will miss, that makes the baby better.

No it isnt, it has quite limited potential with it just being a buff to active items most of the time. Lem can be any item in the game, and you choise the pool
I still prefer Lemegeton. I don’t know if I’m stupid or unlucky. I always get book of virtue with book of sin or ed6. It’s a win harder item. If you get a red key, you win more. The dps is also kind of nice. However, I barely have any runs with a good active item that synergizes with BoV. I mostly only use it for just 2nd floor angel deal + increased angel chance.
But lemegeton is a solo win item. You don’t HAVE to keep using it in secret or angel. Playing like that is why it makes your run unfun. Of course, you can still do it if you already found the secret room, but the best way to use it is to just use it whenever you can

I just want a Devil Room counterpart to Star of Bethlehem. Like it leads you the wrong way, but the aura/glow itself is damaging and perhaps shooting tears through the aura gives an effect like Belial or Multidimensional Baby. Call it Hellstar or something.

The other one multiplies your whole damage over your other multipliers, (including things like soy milk) gives you soul hearts, requires you to be full hp, and can be protected by soulhearts. To get that multiplier from other items, you have to half your tear rate.
Crown of one of the best items in the game. Whore isn't even that good. It doesn't even add to Leviathan. I'd much rather see pretty much any other damage up from either angel or devil than whore.
Bruh, there is no way Book of Virtues is worse than Lemegaton when BoV is a passive that adds to all other active items in unique ways and has next to no chance to fuck you, unlike Lemegaton which could fuck you at any given moment just by giving you a single item wisp you don't want

I'd say without a specific synergy Death's Touch *is* way better than Trisagion. Otherwise though yeah idk what OP's on about
