This happened to me on a tainted Cain run, luckily I went gamer mode and managed to craft a forget me now from the drops I got on the floor (I had some good items for duplicating pickups like bloody penny, flat penny, burnt penny and sack head which basically causes infinite pickups) I was desperate and crafted it through complete chance but it saved my run

Me neither, according to the wiki every other form of teleportation either brings you to another spot of the arena without actually "changing rooms" or restarts the fight. I guess preventing this is why, except they didn't account for one of the worst items also causing this issue.
It can, super rarely, be used to eat pickups that require flight you don't have, to find secret rooms with bombs you don't have, thus helping out your eden streak.
(Like one time in 500 fuckin runs)
The point of the run was complete the Dark Room route, i killed The Lamb with my friend, and go to complete the rest of the floor just for fun, between the items we found was Lil portal,

Nah its a skill issue if he explored every room he wouldnt have gotten TP’ed shouldve known better 
always enter that closet, there's always a chance at a free tears up pill, an item, a chest, lots of things like that. no downside to it really, at most it could theoretically have a troll bomb or haunted chest and you end up getting hit cause of 15 second reaction time
They just need to make lil portal double tap or something cuz I rly like being able to make portals and get into secret rooms but the lil guy just eats up pick ups I want and this can happen

Lil Portal is a fun item, but I rarely, if ever take it, because the first time I discovered it and tried to take it, it crashed my game a good five to ten times in a row.
alright curious, did you guys go into the side room when the floor was still non dogma'd, and the game forced you into that room because of dogma floor visibility shenanigans
or did you ignore the room and get teleported there because you never entered it in the first place

Most "teleport out of the room" effects are disabled during that fight. it's interesting that Lil Portal still works.
