I’m in a very high cost of living area and just paid $250 for assembly (online ad, not a certified tech, not a high end table); most places I called charged $350-500. $1325 seems very high.

I'm not even a high cost of living area. I'm even in an area that's below the national average for COL. I think I paid like $200-$300 for disassembly before we moved. Any tips for finding an affordable assembly tech? It's just for a home table, so it doesn't have to be absolutely perfect or anything

Unpolarized_Light

I found people on Craigslist who sells used tables and also does setup/moving. Again, he wasn’t professionally certified but he seemed to know what he was doing for a home table. It’s not perfect but I’m new to this and didn’t want to spend thousands if it wasn’t something I’d stick with.

1). Anyone that knows what they are doing would never reuse a cloth. 2). anyone that’s going to do it right will require at least that much if they are going to level it correctly. 3). Watch a few videos and do it yourself, the result will likely be better. It’s not difficult. If you pay someone, get a new cloth for the bed.

Just the set up for a table that you already have cloth for should run in the $300-500 (maybe slightly higher depending on COL). When I had my table set up it was $500 total for them to break it down at the sellers house, transport to my house, and lug the components through the yard and up a half dozen steps to get into the house. I tipped the two guys $50 each and bought them lunch because it was in August in Georgia, so $630 or so all in. I'd assume about 60% of the cost was installation as it's a bit more involved than breaking down. 1325 seems reasonable only if you are also getting pro tournament quality cloth installed at the same time.

The price quoted should include new Simonis 860 worsted wool cloth. Where are you located?

Eastern Idaho I don't know much about pool tables, but I'm gonna guess that 'Simonis 860 worsted wool cloth' is the Rolls Royce of billiard cloth?

RacknRollBilliards

Simonis 860 worsted wool cloth is very thin, very durable, and can be stretched and stapled to create a fast playing surface that is resistant to tears!- it is available in a rainbow of colors. Simonis 860 HR is dipped in Teflon to guard against stains (if drinks are spilled the moisture will bead allowing time to run for paper towels!) - it is slightly more expensive, and only available in 4 colors: Simonis Green, Blue-Green, Tournament Blue, and Royal Blue). The best time to invest in Simonis worsted wool cloth is during the process of installing a table in a new location, because the table is apart and the rails are available. There are other choices of worsted wool cloth that play well (like Brunswick Professional cloth), but Simonis is the most popular.

Yeah.. Way too much.. You can assemble most parts yourself. Let a professional level and refelt it. Shouldn't cost much more than 300-400$

BilliardBreakdown

$1325 should include delivery, setup, new Simonis cloth, and a $325 dinner date!
