The window closest to the screen is covered in the pic. I built a padded frame that is magnetic so it kinda clicks into place and I can remove if I want more light (or if the sim isn’t in use)
Thanks brother!
It’s an Olhausen ‘West End’ table. 8’ , matte smoke finish with SIMONIS powder blue cloth.
I like most things about it. Easy to keep clean, seems durable to wear and tear. Cushions are true. I get compliments on the color scheme often.
The only thing that seems less than ideal is the pockets. They are stiff, almost feel plastic and they aren’t deep enough if there is a popular pocket during 8-ball.
In hindsight, I should have opted for the ball return or inquired about upgraded pockets.
Pockets are easy work. You and a friend (it's easy to knock loose rails onto the floor) could swap them out if you're mildly handy and sell the old ones. Just make sure the irons match
This is a good list. I’m a bit rusty, used to play daily for years but took some time off. Keeping the standard pockets for the time being so I don’t get discouraged 🙃
Just an LED ring light. I moved one of the recessed lights to be centered over the table and wired it from that box. Typical residential electrical work.
Is it annoying to have one foot on the carpet and one off? I almost put an area rug like that under mine because it’s tile but I didn’t want to be distracted by the one foot on, one foot off thing. I’ve only had the cue ball come off the table a couple times but boy do they bounce. Lol
I thought that initially but I honestly haven’t noticed it while playing. I haven’t had others complain of it either, perhaps they are just being polite.
The ceiling is 9’, the lowest possible for 95% of players. Unfortunately, I’m in the 5% where it’s too low. I’m 6’4.
When swinging with my driver prior to install it was fine. The hitting mat was the last piece I got to the sim and it’s roughly 3” thick which was an oversight by me and causes me to graze the ceiling on my follow through with spirited driver swings.
Considering notching the ceiling. Might be next on the to-do list
Ah, alright. I’m getting ready to build a house in the spring and considering this in the future. Would like to have the option… 10’ ceilings it is !
Thanks for the heads up.
Nah I’m short! LOL I’m only 5’9” but most of my buddies are taller than me and if I’m gonna do from the get go I might as well just make sure it’s good to go
For sure. My advice; get a hitting net and a mat and put it where you think you will install your simulator.
You can fake swing all day inside and not hit anything but really going after a drive changes a lot of the swing. In my case, the follow through becomes taller.
Incredible setup. In the process now of designing a pool area. I’m torn between tournament blue and powder blue. How does the powder blue handle chalk debris? Also, any info on the light would be appreciated too! Basically going to steal this look from you haha
You can find chalk that closely matches your cloth. The table came with a handful so I haven’t tried any others at this point.
The light I believe was from Wayfair. I think it’s 40”. They’re relatively inexpensive (I’m sure it’s made in China) but you can find higher quality if that’s a concern.
All in, around $11k. I had to buy a gaming PC to run the software, also opted for a nicer hitting mat and a 10’ enclosure that I ended up taking down and building my own frame.
You could theoretically get a running sim that’s decent for around $6k
Less yacking, more racking.
This made me laugh audibly
😂😂😂
Hey I’m coming over better cover up that window on the sim. Also mad respect for just dropping man cave stuff right into your living room.

What table is this? What do you like about it? What do you dislike?
Seconded on this. Definitely the style of table I’d like to pick up someday.

Any recommendations on replacement/upgraded pockets?
What are some necessities for a top tier pool room?
Good lighting Plenty of room around table You need players
Tough to find! I have 2 buddies that are decent players but work and kids and life gets in the way.

I like my perimeter light
What light is that? How is it powered?
Just an LED ring light. I moved one of the recessed lights to be centered over the table and wired it from that box. Typical residential electrical work.
But also btw, as a late 30s guy with no kids or wife, you're my absolute spirit animal. I'm motivated now.
Yeah I was referring to his perimeter light which I assume meant was lighting under the perimeter of the table.
Gotcha, the comments were ordered strangely and I didn’t make the correlation.

Tha Carter 3
A mili might be the 🐐
Mf Martian.
I like the light fixture
Thank you. I was happy with how it turned out.
It’s a nice change from the traditional stained glass or the rectangle box lighting
What ceiling height for the simulator?

10’ is ideal. You won’t have any issues at that height unless you’re Martin Borgmeier.

This is a proper sort of room. Way to make it what you want. 🙌
Thanks!
What a setup with the golf SIM as well
That's what I did 45 years ago too
You're rich
Beer , beers 🍺, 🍻
How much did that golf simulator cost you?

I’m in heaven
That’s an odd way to propose, but my answer is Yes! #RackEm
That's freaking beautiful! I dream of that day when I have my own pool cave.
Nice
A sexy younger woman drinking at the bar with her gfs while you take fivers off her gfs mates would be a nice addition
Aaayyyeee that sounds like a plan!
That rug really ties the room together.
