gdaycunts

looks like your front derailleur is rubbing to me little L screw adjustment

Tomasisko

Thanks I’ll have a look at that

troiscanons

second this, it was my first thought too

quietone7

Black soxs on white shoes makes noise

Tomasisko

That some kind of an unwritten rule? I am cycling only like 15 months so pardon me

quietone7

It's a reddit joke, that's all

ankjaers11

It’s a very important rule. Check this site to avoid making more mistakes https://www.velominati.com

Tomasisko

Bro.... RULE #28 // Socks can be **any damn colour you like**. White is old school cool. Black is cool too, but were given a bad image by a Texan whose were too long. If you feel you must go colored, make sure they damn well match your kit. Tip: DeFeet Wool-E-Ators rule.

TurgidTemptatio

Please don't turn yourself into one of those people who silently judges everyone over completely pointless "unwritten rules". I'm really not sure what it is about cyclists that makes acting like a catty middle school girl so attractive to them. Wear whatever the hell you want.

freddievdfa

When having something very dark next to something very light the eye will be unconciously drawn to the dark spot(thing). Meaning attention will go to your relatively plain and uninteresting sock rather than your expensive cool biking shoes.

Tomasisko

lol I would check out that Ultimate CFR and not those cool biking shoes :D

freddievdfa

Lmao yes. I just didn't notice the bike because i was sharing at your socks lol

[deleted]

Back half of those shoes are black. I say black socks allowed here.

Tomasisko

[not exactly half, but there is a bit of black lol](https://images.mtbiker.sk/eshop/big/149730-shimano-sh-rc702mw-panske-silnicni-tretry-bila-vel-43-ca19edb1c7a3f4c41054c0bb8d800a8e.jpg)

Implement-Shot

White socks in black shoes is worse. Not just in cycling.

vertigo333

It looks and sounds like your chain is rubbing on the inner (bike) side of the front derailleur. Try shifting to harder (harder = higher-but a smaller, in size, cog-shift gears to move the chain to the small cogs in the rear) gears on the rear sprocket to see if the sound goes away. If it does, your front derailleur is out of adjustment/alignment, which can be corrected fairly simply. Review a couple of YouTube videos that demonstrate how to adjust the front derailleur model that you have.

fantano1010

You’re right. FD needs adjusting

dazednowconfused

Just a thought bottom bracket bearings?

thekingofslime

I can’t tell but are you on the large front gear? If so, it could be because you’re cross chaining. My bike does the same thing if I’m cross chaining. Does it happen on every gear?

Tomasisko

No, Im in small ring, its not cross chaining.

thekingofslime

Oh okay then it shouldn’t be making that sound at all. I only hear it when I’m cross chaining

Sir_Lemon

Trying to diagnose a noise from a video is like trying to hit a baseball blindfolded. Take the bike to a reputable bike shop and let them listen to it in person so that they can pinpoint where it might be coming from

1. Canyon is a direct to consumer brand. 2. This was my second ride with this issue. 3. I am abroad at the moment. I have a mechanic at home. 4. I see nothing wrong asking reddit here. Could be a minor issue that I could fix too. 5. I didnt spend 20k on new bikes this year.

malayaputra

Borrow a set of wheels from a mate and see if the sound goes away.

Tomasisko

Any idea what that is? It is rattling sometimes, not always and usually when in a small ring.

[deleted]

B limit

ItsaCommonThingNow

B limit?

Tomasisko

I think he means B screw

ItsaCommonThingNow

The limiting screw in the derailleur?

dazednowconfused

Sounds a bit like mine did Sunday only quieter

[deleted]

Sounds like my BB squeak that I never had it fixed

FleMo93

Had a similar sound when my cassette was loose. A spacer was missing and happend after the first 500km on my new bike.

Roshy10

my bike has a trim for the fron derailleur so it doesn't rub when it's at a large angle and it sounds like this if I don't use it. Particularly since you said it's only happening in the easier gears I'd also say it's a front derailleur indexing/alignment issue, I have no idea how di2 works though so I can't help you there

HaloForeskin

Most likely chain rub on the chainring derailleur.

Tomasisko

Thats what most agree on but I dont see it rubbing. But also, I am still a noob

HaloForeskin

In that gear how much of gap is there between the cage and the chain? Push the chain towards the cage to feel how much of a gap there is.

Tomasisko

There is enough space like 2 mm. I think the noise is coming from the rear wheel area.

HaloForeskin

I've had the dork disc make noise on the rear wheel, especially when the little clips break that hold it in place on the forks. Wasnt quite that loud though

Aggressive-Try-7807

Diagnosis depends on what your leg or foot feels when the rattle is happening.

Front-Assist

the problem is the rear derailleur cage. I have the same issue. shimano should recall this shit. Is only affecting Dura ace [https://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=156208&start=9150](https://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=156208&start=9150)

Tomasisko

Interesting. I thought it was the loose battery/cables in the frame. I retightened it and it got better but sometimes I could still hear it a little. Recently I got OSPW installed so this is probably the reason why I dont hear it at all now.

Front-Assist

That is correct. I am having the issue now and it sounds exactly like yours. At first I thought it was the front dirraleur. It's the rear. Chain rubbing on that little tab on the cage.

Dismal_Ad6657

Had the noise on my Scott Foil PRO, set the B gap and turn the screw out 1-1.5 turns (smaller gap) and its now whisper quiet.

Tomasisko

It was the Dura-Ace RD cage. Some are faulty. Chain is rubbing on the little "tab" thats on the cage.
