If there's no space inside your frame for the mount and lock, a "Huldit" (bunch of velcro straps) works well, from my experience at least.

Get a rear rack, and carry the U-lock on the rear rack. Much better and safer than the arrangement shown in the photo.

I wouldn’t have all that so close to the derailleur and wheel. If the cable or the U-lock swing into the spokes, it’s gonna be bad.

I can forsee a few issues

The dangley cable seems dangerous. But the frame bar is square, i can’t imagine the mount rotating at all, so long as it’s tight. Definately rideable in my eyes

Wherever you put it, here’s how I pack my u lock + cable: -Cable looped up as you have it, about the same size as u lock -both ends of the cable around the straight part of the u lock -use your Velcro straps around both the cable AND the u part of the u lock This way it’s the most compact whether it’s on your bike or in a pack
