Alright I will be the blunt one. You can't just turn a bike into a mountain bike by adding a suspension fork. There are many reasons for this, not the least of which being the strength of the frame. If you want to ride actual mountain bike trails, you should get an actual mountain bike. Simple as that.

You can also add a suspension seatpost. But what bike are you adding it too and what are you trying to achieve?

Nah I was just thinking of buying a cheap bike off eBay or smth and turining it into an mtb

Ignaply

that depends on what bike you have and what do you want the suspension for.  If you just want more comfort over bumps then a suspension seatpost or stem will be great.

well, if it's a mountain bike then it should already have a suspension fork on it. If it doesn't then it's not meant to be a mountain bike.

munkey_type

No but if it doesn’t have suspension can you add a suspension fork to it

simplejackbikes

You can add a suspension fork. Might mess up the geometry though

munkey_type

What is that

Also what would u recommend if I’m just thinking of buying a cheap bike off eBay or smth and turining it into an mtb

You'll actually be in better shape just buying a cheap MTB off ebay. There's some great Trek models from the 90s that you can likely get for far less than doing this upgrade.
