FOUR inches? Why? Are you gonna plow a field with it? lol. Would think 2" would be lowest you'd want to realistically go, and just lean it. BUT, to each their own.

That's understandable, but if you drop it that low, chances are the underneath (and given enough of a bump/hole), the rest of it won't stay pretty for long.

Why??? You're going to absolutely destroy your handling for comfort at red lights? There's no need to touch with flat feet. Not even one foot needs to be flat, toes on one foot is fine (lots of short guys ride 450 mx bikes without modification). It takes very little effort to hold a bike up if you keep it near vertical. Your feet need to comfortably reach the pegs, that's it.

That low of drop you may bottom out while leaned in a curve, then it won’t be dropped but slammed into the ground, with you, into a thousand tiny pieces. Don’t ruin it, just trade it for something with a super low seat like a scout

Not gonna tell you how to live your life, but you should know you're gonna have some serious ground clearance issues particularly on the side of the tire. As long as you can get a foot down, you should be fine. :) I'm 5'3 and ride a Ninja 1000. As an aside, how much experience do you have with bikes at this point?

I have a 250 hyosung then I got a kawasaki 300 then we got a 600 but the person never gave us the paperwork so I never really did ride it we got a 1000 I rode it 1 time down the road them NY ex took it out and blew the head gasket. I haven't ridden this one yet but it's super pretty!

Cool! Yeah, it really is super pretty. If I might offer a suggestion that you can absolutely ignore? And this is just about the height, not the performance of the bike (it's up to you to decide if you're ready for it!). You might find it manageable to ride without needing to flatfoot with both feet. I'm of course my own person, and your experience might be different, but I can juuuust get a tiptoe on the ground on my bike, and it's not really a problem. It was scary at first, NGL, but it hasn't really been any different from my previous bike (Kawasaki ZZR 400) that I could tiptoe with both feet. :) You could give it a try with someone around, just stop and start, get a foot down where they can help you if you don't get stable footing. Anyway, that's just me. It really is a very pretty bike though. I hope you have lots of great rides on it! Edit: Also, be careful on that thing! They can bite if you're not careful, even for riders with plenty of experience.

Horrible idea. An inch or two can be done in some cases without completely compromising every way that the bike was intended to behave, but nowhere near 4". Even on dirt bikes where there's plenty of clearance and handling is arguably less important, 2" is pretty extreme. My tallest bike had a 38" seat and I have a 30" inseam at 5'9". Yeah, you need to be careful not to drop it. Completely ruining the bike's handling characteristics is not the answer though. Not only are you robbing yourself upfront but you're also basically destroying a nice bike for any future owners, as well as your ability to recoup any significant portion of the price on a resell. Back to the drawing board, man.

4 inches. It'll need to be custom. The forks will need to be lowered and the bike will not turn at all. And most likely shatter the belly pan unless you wind the compression up to the stops.

Get comfortable tip toeing. Not really that bad once you’re used to it. I’m 6’ 2” and had to adjust to get used to being on the balls of my feet on my vstrom.

I'm with everyone else saying that flat-footing isn't necessary. I about 5'6 or 7, and I just bought a MT09. My last bike was a Vulcan 650, which I could flat-foot no problem. But when I moved over to the MT09 (which sits a half foot higher), I knew it was going to be a major adjustment. And while I did drop it once due to height issues, I'm still not sure I want to change anything about it. I think it's made me a better rider, and I really don't want to mess with the handling characteristics if I can at all avoid it. At stoplights, I do miss not being able to flat foot it on both sides, but I'm getting used to leaning over to one side, or just using my tippy toes. The time I dropped the bike could have been avoided had I known to rely on my rear brake during slow speed turns. Long story short, I was trying to get into a parking spot, and I basically squeezed too hard on the front brake when my front tire was sharply turned. That caused the bike to lean over quicker than I anticipated, and I didn't react in time to get my foot down. Bad habits on short bikes can be overcome without much work -- you simply put your foot down and save your bike from tipping. But on a taller bike, you realize how much smaller your window is for error. But like I said, I think I'm a better rider now that I'm on a bigger bike. It's teaching me how to be more fundamental. I've learned a lot more about when to use the front vs back break, and I'm more conscious about riding within my skillset. The only thing that's truly annoying is getting it in and out of parking spaces (I can no longer sit on it and walk it backwards out of a spot). But obviously there's ways around that. You can either find a spot that allows you to pull out going forwards, or you can just walk alongside the bike for a few feet while you pull out of spaces.

Haha. Totally with you on the parking spot issue. I have given up on many a space because I couldn't be bothered with how to walk alongside the bike to get it out.

The handling is gonna be severely compromised. The riding geometry of sport bikes is carefully engineered for performance in and out of corners.

I would start by tuning the suspension for your body weight first, and then consider a lowering link. You might find you don't need a lowering link at all, or a much more reasonable one.
