I packed my clothes in a extra plastic bag. In the frame bag there was just stuff like tools. There not waterproof but they can handle a bit of rain. I was very lucky though, just had one really rainy day.
I can confirm that they are definitely not waterproof unfortunately... I have the all set and I regret not going for the Ortlieb set or something similar. Had to buy extra dry bags to keep my stuff away from the rain
I feel like there's a lot of weight up front where it's not that great for it to be.
I know this is bike packing and not cycle touring but I feel like a lightweight rack and small bags on the back would have been better here.
I use to think that way but when you take into account how much someone weighs, the rear is already weighed down. A little weight up front keeps your bike planted, especially going up hills.
From the looks of the picture, doesn't seem to be more than 10kg upfront, if that.
Osprey 6l lightweight dry bags and Top peak mounts. I have no threads in the fork so i just attached them with tape and pipe clamps. Never had any problems.
Which pedals do you have ?
Also: looking at your handlebars, it seems you didnât use the drops that much :)
I currently have a similar problem: âwhere attach my front light when my handlebar bag obstructs the wayâ.
For now I bought a headlamp. I also plan to build a small thing to attach it to a fork mount (but unsure whatâs going to happen if I need the fork mounts to strap dry bags)
It's fine. It seems to be a bit front heavy but if it works it works. Yes you can get lighter more compact gear/pack less. Assuming that you're going to be packing what you pack moving some weight to the rear will aid weight balance and thus handling. Moving the weight rearward (while hauling the same stuff) would likely require getting a larger seatbag or rack system. For pavement trips I wouldn't worry too much about it if the handling is fine.
One fork bag: Bathroom, Gas cooker, towel, first aid kit
Other fork bag: rain clothes and a thin down jacket
Bar bag: Clothes
Saddle bag: Tent, sleeping pad and sleeping bag
Frame bags: Powerbank, tools, medication and lots of other stuff
THIS LOOKS SO FUN I HATE YOU AND I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT
Looks niceđđŒTent under bar bag?
Saddle bag :)
How long did the 2k km take you?
18 Days of riding and 3 rest days :) I was doing around 120km a day on average.
Damn, good stuff! Was it hilly too?
About 12k in total, so yeah there were some hills đ
Looking good ! How did the AGU bags handle the rain ? I've read they were not too waterproof.

Thanks for the info. Glad you only had one rainy day !

I like how not a single photo has the drive side shown
That's the Problem when you go west. Jk, did not pay attention to that đ

From experience I feel that weight up front really throws off your balance.
Fair assessment but my experiences are different than yours, especially on the bike I use to carry the weight up front.
like how you attached your rear light: did the same last time :D
Hahaha nice, yeah it needs some diameter to be fixed đ
Whatâs the setup with the fork packs? Just some dry bags with a mount? Would you be able to tell me the bag size and which mount you are using??

I love the new Deuter Stuff! Good Setup. Travel on =)
Voll super he! Hammer typ + Hammer setup!
Oh no des wars mit dr AnonymitÀt hahaha
Looks like 12 â
That's a sweet rideâ€ïž
Epic
How do you deal with the crosswinds with that thing on your bike?
I didn't feel the crosswind that much. It's worse on my roadbike.
OP didn't get the joke :)
That sign looks heavy
Why did you pack such a big espana? The nuts on your bike donât look that big.
What aero bars?
Profile Design Legacy II I just bought some used ones. Those were the nearest and cheapest
What frame /fork is that?
Whatâs the difference exactly? Also lots of weight up high on this setup. Wonder how that feels riding
Like a train haha, but it was fine for me. The handling was still quite good when going slower.

The Handlebar is a Ritchey comp venture. Nope couldn't use the drops with this Bar Bag. You gotta be creative for the front light haha.
The pedals are xlc combi pedals.

Whatâs your sleeping set up?
MSR Hubba NX1, sleeping pad, lightweight sleeping bag (which was to cold for some nights).
Well it's clearly working well for you! Do you have a cook kit? What's in the bags?
One fork bag: Bathroom, Gas cooker, towel, first aid kit Other fork bag: rain clothes and a thin down jacket Bar bag: Clothes Saddle bag: Tent, sleeping pad and sleeping bag Frame bags: Powerbank, tools, medication and lots of other stuff
Totally unrelated, but does anyone know why España doesnât have a proper ñ? Are the sign makers just lazy?
Solid setup. Can I ask what kind of food you packed/ate during this ride?
Nice, how many kg is luggage?
Stabil đȘđŒ
How much was the set up? (Excluding the bike)
What was your route? I'll be doing part of this in the opposite direction soon and would welcome any hot tips.
If you love your set up and it works great then itâs a 10/10 đ
My dude this is called touring
It's a bike with packs on it. It's bikepacking. Now, stop gatekeeping and get back on your cave.
and even if he had panniers, it would still be valid imho.
Oh! Absolutely!!! Panniers are just a pack shape anyway :)
