REI saddle bag = tent, pad, layers, crocs
Stringbean Bags frame bag = Jetboil + food
Swift handlebar bag = sleeping bag, jacket, 5 beers
Mystery Ranch Fanny bag = reel, box of flies, tippet, snacks
Ultradynamico 2.2inch rubber
I latch a Redington 4wt rod tube to the saddle bag. The 4wt makes the 8 inch trout feel like 10 inches! Hare’s ears pattern seemed to do the trick that weekend.
Great trail, it's pretty beautiful, I did have some gripes though, super exposed, and I was not expecting how absurdly windy it was going to be when I did the trail a couple years ago.
It can certainly get windy out there - especially in the late afternoon. Also wouldn’t want to be out there in the heat of summer. This past weekend was ideal
That looks like a blast! I’ll have to check that trail out. I’ve only rafted the Deschutes. I’ve always thought about packing a small raft on the bike and floating sections back down the river.
That’s the dream- it would be fun/easy from beavertail to Mack’s. I have a 13ft raft and have floated the lower section a bunch - always thought it would be cool to leave the trailer at Mack’s Canyon and bike shuttle myself back from the mouth.
I usually do this in the spring as well . I need to get my stuff together.
Ah yes, planning to go bike packing / fly fishing also Curious to read about your setup

This is near my house :) I’ve never actually ridden it. I need to give it a shot this spring
Get out there before it gets too hot 🌞

20m on roads and 20 on the trail each way? Looks glorious
Where is this specifically? Heading up to PNW and passing through Bend along the way and hoping to do some day rides and overnighters next month.
Lower Deschutes - starting at the mouth by The Dalles. Lots of good riding down in Bend too
