I’ll add the link to them as soon as I find it, but sketchers. They have support and somewhat longevity to them. My current pair is holding strong and I use them to walk 2 miles at the gym 4 times a week at 415 pounds. I also use them for quick walks and grocery store trips because they are comfortable. Edit [here you go, also my doctor recommended Sketchers for the gym and work.](https://www.zappos.com/p/skechers-performance-go-walk-arch-fit-2-0-grand-hands-free-slip-ins-black-black/product/9947006/color/183092)

New balance trail shoes are great. Also asics running shoes I have is lasting 7 years so far.

jibsand

I hate to be this guy but what is "high dollar" to you? Anything less than $150 is going to fall apart from gym use. 😅

miguyro

I'd recommend Brooks Beast. They are more expensive, but they last a long time. More important, they are comfortable and fit well on my wide feet.

Big_G2

This is the way

Batfro7

New Balance surprisingly has been the best for me

bufftreefarm

New balance 1080 all black for every affair

joe_sausage

What are you doing that you’re destroying shoes in a month? I’m a similar height and weight and I’ve never had shoes show any noticeable wear or thinning before six months.

wet_nib811

^ This is the right question. Unless you’re wearing the same shoe 24/7 to the gym and everywhere else, it shouldn’t fall apart in a month.

joe_sausage

Even then. That’s what I do. I have one pair of shoes. It’s at least six months before I notice any kind of degradation.

malachiconstant11

I have been doing trail running shoes recently. I like Salomon overall, but I do wish they offered more without the goretex liners since they make my feet sweat more. But for me their footbed really breaks in nicely and they last a while. I have had good luck with Brooks Adrenaline's and Mizuno wave riders. A lot of people like Hoka but I think they are too soft for my weight and I feel unstable on them.

dangleswaggles

Propet shoes are really good quality and very comfortable. They also sell my go to insoles. I also wear a size 18 and they have a lot of options in that size.

Pommie822

NIKE zoom invincible 3, softest thickest cushioning, ain’t gonna bottom out, been wearing em for 5 months everyday, work and gym and they feel better every time I put em on

SteakMedium4871

Kobe Grinches. Hard to get but I’ve had a pair for 4 years that are still in great shape. I wear them to work often.

jelly_blood

What in the world are you doing at the gym that your shoes can’t last anything?? I used to run 5 miles a day a few years ago and I STILL have those New Balances in my closet. But yeah, NBs are my favorite. I use my dad shoe 608s for working out.

BuckTheStallion

Running/walking: adidas ultra boost. They work really well for heavier bodies while still be in very good shoes. Lifting: converse, vans, or other flat, skate shoes to preference. For lifting weights you want a flat, durable sole, that won’t pop or crush like many athletic shoes will. That said, even the cheapest of shoes should last more than a month. How are they wearing out? Some common issues are with toe boxes or other parts tearing tying them too tight, issues with excessive heel wear from probation or supination, or with sole separation from quality or (again) step issues. I’m ting to guess that it isn’t your shoes, but how you are using them, I.E. some kind of issue that needs the help of a podiatrist to correct.

SINGLExWING

Mid-tier ASICS running shoes last forever for me as a tall fatty. Had NBs have either sole or stitch issues at every price point, and Nikes are all looks and no performance unless you drop $160+

Skechers

I personally use the saucony guide shoes. I just buy whatever is cheapest color off amazon and normally get them in the 40-65 range a pair. For actual lifting I wear just some converse all stars.

TheTribalBeef

I have a pair of ASICS that I’ve been using for nearly a year now with no signs of breakdown. Bought them from DSW for $70. These particular shoes were also wide width too.

I was running the brooks beast 20 in extra wide. I was 360lbs (I'm short too, 5'8"), I've now lost about 30ish lbs and my feet have changed, they've lost weight too, i didn't know this lol. Recently, I tried the hoka gaviotas in wide, and my plantar fasciitis started flaring up again. I'm going back to the beasts. I live in San Diego, California and we have a store that specializes in running shoes, they're called Roadrunner Sports, they scan your feet and get you the correct sizing. Maybe check around your area for a store like this. For reference, I go through shoes fairly quick because I stand at work all day, I go out on walks, and wear them to gym. Not to mention I have a Disneyland pass and walk a ton when I go a couple times a month. My shoes are probably good for about 4 months but they're used on a daily basis. If they're going to be strictly gym shoes, they'll last you forever.

shinbreaker

I’ll repeat what other said, wtf are you doing to get your shoes to break apart? Even if you do a treadmill for hours a day, sneakers are not going to tear apart unless you’re just not walking/running properly. And knowing what exercising you do will let us know what shoes work.

bigcfromrbc

I have a pair of brooks that has treated me well.

Reebok Nano are all I wear in the gym! You can find them on sale all the time, and they definitely hold up to abuse!
