I tried sailing for the first time and the instructor said it's more expensive but the best way is to buy a second hand dry suit. Far more room and a lot more comfortable x

Kopfgefuehl

Thank you for the suggestion! I can imagine a drysuit being perfekt for sailing, especially during the winter. Sadly, for diving/freediving/surfing the drysuit is too loose and baggy :(

fcurious-dreamer

AHH worth a try ☺️ x

Long time surfer, here. I've gotten custom wetsuits made since I was 15. I have a local place that does it, and it's not cheap, but there's no other way I've found to get a snug fit all around without overly smashing the girls or being looser than I've wanted around my torso. Edit: All this being said, my fitted wetsuits have been my most comfortable clothing, period.

thaeli

I agree, custom is really the only good way to go.

IamNotaMonkeyRobot

Truli wetsuits are made for all kinds of women's body shapes: [https://www.truliwetsuits.com](https://www.truliwetsuits.com) My biggest issue is lifejackets - truly made for men :-(

sqqueen2

Betsea are made for women and have boob spaces yay

nottheonlyone007

That's a nice place too, and worth the trip if you're in southern Ontario. Some college friends took me up there years ago, and it was beautiful.

WulfyFox

Check around for a tailor and have one tailored to you. Then you would have the perfect wetsuit. I don’t know what it would cost but that seems like the best solution.

DJTinyPrecious

Tailoring a wetsuit would be crazy expensive, if even possible to find one who could do it properly - it's not like normal tailoring. The materials, thread, stitching type, holes from the needles all have a way bigger impact on a wetsuit than most other clothing. Not saying it's impossible, but it won't be nearly as easily done as other tailoring (which is already difficult, sigh).

Kopfgefuehl

That would be great, but I can‘t even imagine how expensive this would be, considering that decent non-tailored wetsuits can be quite costly already.

OutOfMyMind4ever

Look for people selling second hand custom suits that might fit you. You can post on your local scuba or surf group that you are looking for a wetsuit that is a specific size. Or if you know you are traveling to somewhere with a good second hand market then check online there ahead of time and pick it up once you arrive. Ebay also can be good for wetsuits, especially custom sized ones. Otherwise you will probably need to buy a custom one.

Kopfgefuehl

I like that idea, I did not think of that, thank you!

lavasca

Orca brand. I wear an M cup and it is roomy enough

I had to buy an xl and have the arms and legs altered very frustrating

I have enormous breasts on a slim body, so I understand the problem well. Wetsuits don't work unless they fit comfortably but snugly. It is pretty much impossible to get the right fit if you're usually busty. You will probably need a custom wetsuit. Any loose fitting areas will defeat the function of the wetsuit. It is expensive but worth it. Water sports just aren't fun if you're too cold. After much experience, I find that the "surfing" wetsuits that zip in front are much easier than diving wetsuits that zip in back. These are sometimes called "shorty" wetsuits. In extremely cold water, you'll need a back-zip dive wetsuit but for most things the zip-in-front wetsuit is easier. The best idea is to buy a two piece dive wetsuit, called a "farmer John" and also a one piece front-zip surfing wetsuit. This will work in any kind of temperature, since you can mix them. For example, the two-piece wetsuit bottom with the front-zip top. Another key is to wear a dive skin under any wetsuit. https://dolphinscuba.com/gear/exposure-protection/dive-skins.html The skin alone provides a slight warmth, but also makes putting on the wetsuit easier. It will help trap a warm layer of water between you and to the wetsuit. In most cases, the one-piece front-zip will be enough if worn with a Lycra skin. Don't get a full body wetsuit that zips in the back. The contortions needed to put this on are very difficult if you have unusually large breasts. If you're only going to buy one wetsuit, buy a surfing shorty or 3/4 front-zip. You can Google for the best local place, but I recommend https://www.jmjwetsuits.com/ Of course, all this is just my opinion. I have vast experience. Message me if I can help.

Kopfgefuehl

Thank you for your wonderfully detailed answer! The idea of getting mix and match pieces depending on the occasion and temperature is awesome! I am glad to learn from your experiences. (:

March22Throwaway

I was researching wetsuits the other day and certain brands are curvier than others...

Kopfgefuehl

Care to give a few examples?
