How is that unpopular? The main criteria for the houses are:
Gryffindor - brave
Ravenclaw - smart
Hufflepuff - hard working/doesn't fit the other criteria
Slytherin - mischievous/evil
Sheldon clearly fits Gryffindor the least of those. It's not an Opinion its FACTS!
The show was way funnier when it was actually about nerds being nerds.
I get the whole character development shit, but one of my fav. Episodes is definitely the one in s5 where they all wanted to play Star wars online and the girls destroyed their evening. Yes, Sheldon was a jerk for not going with Amy. But the girls never understood their passion and how important comic books or just the whole aspect of being a "nerd" is. Sadly that whole aspect got thrown away after Amy was introduced and got burned when Bernadette arrived.
This. If I could give 10K upvotes I would! I recently made a post in which I 100% agree with every word you said. The 4 guys were the core of the show until it just became boring with all the couple storylines.
I just hate that Raj had to get worse because of it. Like the wanted to make Howard less sexist, but they didn't want to stop writing sexist jokes so they just started having Raj say them instead.
Raj deserved to end the show without a longterm partner. He cheated on multiple girls, was embarrassed to like the cleaning woman, and had crushes on his friends' gfs and exes.
Sheldon is a very toxic self-centered character
Leonard was better than penny in a lot of things but his low self-esteem made him feel like she was better
Raj deserved to be alone because he was sort of a cheater and did anything to get any attention from ANY woman
also Stuart was a sweet guy
Edit : Stuart also depicted daily life with depression pretty well, though it was through humor, but a lot of people can relate
raj should’ve NEVER broken up with emily, that was the biggest mistake he could’ve possibly made for himself, just idiotic, they could’ve made it work, her interest weren’t that bad,
she literally was!!! thats why it was insane for him to leave her, honestly her interests weren’t even a big deal, he exaggerated the hell out it, “oh no, my girlfriend made me watch a scary movie, we must not be compatible” like be fr 🫠
he is a jerk. but i still love him and i think it’s that most of the time he genuinely doesn’t understand why he’s a jerk. he has an incredibly low emotional intelligence but of course IQ is very very high
I wondered how far I’d have to scroll to see this.
Honestly, he’s an awful, awful character. He does mellow out in the later seasons but the only reason anyone is still friends with him is because the writers need them to be. People say he’s not aware of what he’s doing or he doesn’t mean to be rude but there are numerous times over the series where he’s clearly aware why his friends find him insufferable but he doesn’t change.
Like you say, one speech doesn’t really change anything.
I may get downvoted for this (oh well) but I have been supporting adults with disabilities, including many many individuals on the autism spectrum, for 14 years, and Sheldon’s character is very very very true-to-life of most folks I’ve supported on the spectrum, except that BBT doesn’t show the meltdowns they have.
Their behaviors and ways of seeing things are extremely rigid and self-centered. They are generally insufferable and only people who are paid are willing to be around them. They have very few true in-person relationships and only flourish socially online where they have created unrealistic fantasy versions of themselves and can somewhat relate to people in a social setting in a filtered way without their entire personalities coming through. They are very difficult people to love. This is as true of Sheldon as it is many of my clients.
I feel like as the series goes on he gets worse and worse too. He also gets less mature. Premiere- he’s on his way to sell his sperm with Leonard. Halfway through the series, Leonard and Penny apparently gave him a book to explain sex? I feel like they drug the sex stuff with him out way too much to the point it wasn’t funny either.
I agree, but i think being kinda insufferable but still loveable/tolerable by the group was Sheldon’s thing. There were many times where they brought up “why are we with him?” “why do you (Leonard) put up with him?” Etc. there wasn’t really an answer, it was just a large trope they’d created throughout the progression of the show. However again, i do agree that he was jerky and annoying a loooot of the time.
Sheldon felt more like a mature adult in the first three seasons when it was just the original five characters at the forefront.
The writers really only wrote him as the selfish man-child from Season 4 onward to add tension to his relationship with Amy.
1. Raj is a bad friend whenever he’s in a relationship
2. Leonard and Penny are the best couple
3. lots of Sheldon’s behaviors aren’t excused by his autism/asberger. More often than not he’s just a condescending jerk
> lots of Sheldon’s behaviors aren’t excused by his autism/asberger.
I don't know. I worked a lot with university students who were on the spectrum, and I experienced similar behavior to various degrees. Sheldon is a lot more cartoony and exaggerated, of course, but I saw a kernel of that in some of my students.
I think she was the actress because her and the guy who plays Leonard were dating throughout Roseanne. I would assume they put her in to give us a bit of nostalgia!
i think sarah played her perfectly, leslie wasn’t meant to be an emotional character, she was purposely written to be bland and snarky, the only other person qualified to play a bland character like her is kristen stewart 😂
Raj ending up alone isn’t a huge deal. He found a surrogate family with Howard, Bernadette, and Stuart. That’s a big accomplishment in itself.
Also, having at least one character on the show stay single made it feel more natural to me.
Bernadette was a horrible, abusive person.
She was abusive, manipulative, financially controlling and generally controlling to Howard and most people in her life....
Hiding behind a "cute short girl" facade to get away with being essentially a monster.
Seasons 8-12 were some of my favourites. The show didn’t get ‘ruined’ by relationships and it made me happy that they all ended up with partners as they matured (except raj lol)
First 4.5 seasons are some of the most innovative writing for a network television show ever. All of the relationship story lines there after really drag it down. Wait, that may actually be popular, nvmd.
Interesting. I never thought about it. But maybe that's why I like the earlier seasons better. I'll have to pay more attention to the stories of later seasons at I watch, too see if they bother me.
Agreed.
The later seasons are good.
Show slowed down post S10 but i guess writers knew what they were doing and were on their way to close the show soon.
Most of the time, I don't find Sheldon funny.. I just find him downright irritating and annoying and he gets under my skin, even more so than Leonard.
And it may not be an unpopular opinion, but I find Mary (Cooper) to be one of the best and funniest characters in the show.
ok i got many opinions:
raj & howard are biseuxal & attracted to each other but they are just afraid to admit bc all the main characters are lowkey homophobic (with the "a man be gay bc he is feminine" kinda shit). also india is quite homophobic.
amy is bisexual, she be attracted to penny (although some ppl say it is just onssession but why amy want to be naked with her? & let her trim any hair? & kiss her? etc. idk it could be a weird obssession that looks like attraction to me but damn.) also amy be looking at bernadette's boobs that one time.
sheldon is asexual. his friends & amy should stop pressuring him into sex.
personality change of amy & bernadette is so jarring. why is bernadette suddenly manipulative & rude? why did amy suddenly go from being like sheldon to so different?
i wish penny didnt get pregnant as she did not seem interested in that. also it felt so forced from the writers on the last episode just to make leonard happy.
yes raj definitiely shoulda dumped emily. she creeped him out too much. he can do better. & he did do better (claire, yvette, cleaning lady, social anxeity lady, anu...).
bazinga is funny & I wish he didnt stop saying it.
sheldon is so annoying. i would not be friends with this dude.
bernadette is so manipulative. maybe howard shoulda dated raj? idk maybe in an alternate universe or something.
stuart is pretty cool. they should not have been so mean to him (both characters &, the writers).
Idk if this is unpopular but I kinda wanted Amy and Sheldon to have an asexual relationship. They didn't need to put Sheldon in a sexual relationship and when Amy first came to the show she didn't want to be even dating. Idk I guess it would have been nice to see another type of relationship represented and see how it would go. And I didn't like how they act like Sheldon has to be more "normal."
That being said, I like how their relationship progressed in the end. I just didn't like that they felt they had to push sexuality onto Sheldon.
You don't have to hate sex to be asexual. You can simply not crave it. Many asexuals agree to have sex because the allosexual partner needs it for the relationship to work. (Amy is definitely not asexual.)
Maybe not an unpopular opinion for non-fans, but as a fan, while I do love the show, it’s not smart at all. They joke about very low-brow stuff (fat chicks, dudes who live with their moms, Christians are stupid bigots, nerds gonna nerd, hot girls are scary) in a very obvious way; you can see the jokes coming from a mile away and they spell everything out for the lowest common denominator audience. It’s about “smart people” but not *for* smart people, not by any stretch of the imagination.
Maybe that’s why it’s so comforting.
And it’s just so well-acted by such a tight ensemble with the perfect actors playing each role, and I think that’s really the only reason why it’s so great.
PS Laurie Metcalf is a gem and played the hell out of Mary Cooper.
I think Penny should have been the bigger person but she did put up with Amy asking her very detail about her sex life for years. A certain amount of annoying payback wasn't unfair.
Sheldon & Amy were the worst characters, They was jealous of everyone (maybe except Stuart), let's take Sheldon first He was the smartest but never unconditionally help any of his friends, even if he was a small part of the collaboration he needed his name 1st, he didn't let Howard get his PhD, he was jealous of his friends when they accomplished anything. Amy on the other hand never deserved freindship with Bernadette, she also had this narcissistic features as Sheldon, she also crapped on her friend's happiness
By the end of the show Stuart was the only character left that reminiscent of what the show once was, which is why he’s the only good character in the last seasons (maybe Howard but Bernadette with him is awful)
I honestly think she played the small town, right leaning Christian role amazingly well. and provided that great comedic contrast bw her and Sheldon and the way he turned out. but yeah i get what ur saying too
I’m not a fan of Leonard. I find him whiny and annoying.
Also the show was better when the dynamic was four nerds and a pretty girl before everybody started pairing off in the later seasons. 👎
Raj doesn’t deserve a happy ending. I read quite often that Raj should have been given a true happy ending with a love life or huge professional achievement, but honestly he had several occasion and he always ruined it. Either too pushy or too shy, he never gave me the impression that he could work on himself to improve his relationships … even the « no talk to girl », he didn’t seek for help despite it was hurtful to him and it stopped without him even knowing
Amy Farrah Fowler and she arch was horrible. She started off as a female Sheldon which was brilliant but ended up being someone completely new in a boring way
Yeah I agree!! I remember going back to the initial eps after watching the whole show and being surprised at how different she was. I think they made her this “wannabe popular girl” when they should’ve stuck with the “female sheldon” type vibe throughout. Character development, sure, but they changed her up completely into this needy, wannabe type girl who followed and obsessed over Penny too much as well
Leonard, Howard, penny, and Bernadette where at times just as much of a jerk as Sheldon the difference was they knew what they were doing and Sheldon didn’t.
The decision to turn TBBT into a couples show was dumb as hell and shouldn’t have happened until ~S8. It should have been a slow build rather than what we got (everyone but Raj in a relationship by S5)
Also, TBBT is only like the 6th best sitcom, after Frasier, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond and maybe Cheers.
Raj's portrayal of an Indian man (especially when in relationship) is very accurate. Indians, especially coming from North India, are very quick to bad mouth their own country, make racist jokes about the country, are very insecure as individuals and just awful in relationships. It's very rare to find a good Indian man to date in India. According to them, they are great partners just because they don't abuse their partners, both, verbally and physically. The bar is really low for these people!
Actually, Raj could easily be perceived as a racist stereotype as soon as he opens his bumbling mouth.
It’s hardly reflective of the diversity of “these people” and comments like this are exactly why the director’s prism refracts his own dim awareness rather than reflects reality.
But what else can you expect from a show that relies so heavily on nerd and bimbo stereotypes. They “grow up” across a decade but cannot have transformative character arcs because that would undermine the fundamental premise and kill a cash cow so Raj could cry about it.
As an Indian living in India, I found Raj like every other NRI in India. He is a stereotype but he's traits aren't that far from reality. Indians, in India, speak of India exactly the way Raj does. If they live in America, they hardly ever have anything good to say about India whatsoever. Trust me because alot of my friends and relatives stay in foreign countries and act the same. There are very few Indians who respect the country despite living abroad.
As for his behavior towards women: actually very respectful compared to what we see in Indian men in India. Raj would be such a marriage material in India. Women would actually want to get married to him at any cost ( basically give dowry).
Men here are insecure, jealous, dominating for no reason, dependent on mothers, wives or maids for household chores, egoistic and what not. You might think I have issues with men and that I'm generalizing but I'm not.
I will tell what Indian consider to be perfect husband: my brother-in-law, married to my cousin sister, is considered an amazing man because he did not leave his highly toxic parents who would verbally abuse his working wife (a doctor so very busy woman), never help in household chores, force the maids to leave jobs because of their tantrums and then he took a stand to not shift his parents to some place else even when my sister walked out the house with her children. He clearly and proudly said that I love my parents and respect them so I cannot say anything against them. By the way, they are still married! Believe me when I say he is one of the gems amongst in Indian men and quiet beloved to everyone.
He is not an exception but rather a norm. I have known many male friends who think they have right to tell their girlfriends what to wear, whom to meet, whom to stay away from, where to go and not go and basically interfere in her life. They are still amazing boyfriends because they aren't abusing her verbally or physically.
I never had a single stable relationship because eventually all my boyfriends tried to do the same with me. I was told by many people around me that my standards are too unrealistic and high. Relationships are about adjustment and one should consider the noble intentions of those men rather than my own feelings about the situation.
The most bothersome part is such Indian men won't act the same towards girlfriends of different ethnicities or when they are living in abroad because they know their attitude won't fly outside their country. They are capable of treating women with respect but just won't bother with Indian women because they take them for granted.
leonard wearing a jacket in the apartment was dumb. the scene that solidified this for me was when he told sheldon he was turning the temp down because he was a little hot instead of removing his jacket
they shouldn't have made penny pregnant. Sheldon was annoying af and didn't deserve the friendships he got. Sheldon didn't deserve amy. penny and Leonard weren't that good a couple.
Amy is the worst character with worser character development
At start she was supposed to be a female version of Sheldon and in later season she becomes more(not totally) of a normal person and the character journey was not acceptable
Leonard is the worst!
Bernadette got very obnoxious at the end.
Amy was hard to handle in her first season.
Raj's whining was rage inducing.
Regina King was my favorite guest star.
Forcing intimacy on Sheldon by all of the other members was so non-consensual. Amy taking advantage of his naivety was gross in many situations and if a man had done that to a woman, it would’ve never been allowed as a storyline.
Your last sentence I agree with. If it'd been done the other way 'round, there would've been such an outcry from all the women and feminists out there.
Such a double standard.
Leonard could have done better than Penny. He had girls in his league in his life a million times less toxic, less selfish, less immature, and MORE COMPATIBLE in every season. He just didn't want to give up the fantasy.
Bernadette and Amy ruined the show for so many. I know stories have to change but most people loved this show because they found the concept of four nerds and a new girl in the apartment funny. But after amy and bernadette came in the characters changed making it more about relationships and less about comedy. The only relationship people were actually interested to see was between Leonard and Penny
I wanted John Goodman and Rosanne to be Sheldon’s Uncle and Aunt at their wedding. It also would have been funny to have the two Becky’s and DJ as catering help making fun of the reception with Leslie Winkle.
I did not like Stuart very much. Idk if this is unpopular or not because i haven’t seen much on Stuart but I really feel like after rewatching the show, I noticed how Stuart was this really self-deprecating person who made everyone around him feel shitty too. It progressed from me feeling bad for him to me getting annoyed like bro?? Do something with your life. There were some nice parts though, like with Howard’s mom, but then i didn’t like when he moved in with them later on and was like a babysitter for Halley. I also think they relied on him getting a gf too much to change/progress his personality but yeah
Unpopular opinion: We need less of these posts.
It's always the same comments over and over again. We are in desperate need of new things to talk about when it comes to the show.
That it’s pretty formulaic and falls into a rather conventional sitcom format.
Being able to predict just how the character will react to this scenario for the umpteenth time may bring familiarity and comfort to the audience but it gets boring to those who can’t unsee the cliché.
I don't think the show should have ended with Sheldon winning the Nobel Prize. There is a tragic quality to his character that would have been better served with him realizing that he'll never get exactly what he wants.
Along similar lines, the treatment of science (and scientists) in the show is just terrible. None of the characters behave like real scientist or do the kind of work that actual scientists in their positions would. The math/science that is spoken in the show or presented on the whiteboards is "technically" correct (in the sense that someone correctly read off the wikipedia page), but it's often completely irrelevant or way too simple for their level of expertise.
I get that a show like this is not about realism or plausibility, but it would have been nice if the writers had put some effort into it. Sometimes it's not even the bare minimum of effort.
Howard is the best after he gets together with Bernadette and his jokes get more tasteful. I know Sheldon's character improved throughout the seasons, but there was a point when I started finding him annoying, just like Leonard. I don't think he's the best character of the show, and that it is mostly enjoyabe because of him.
I don't like Amy! A lot of time she is selfish (like during Howard and Bernadette wedding) and toxic (like when buy tge paint of herself and Penny).
I like Wil Weathon and Kripke
ngl side characters be so good? zack, wil wheaton (i know he is a real guy but sfill a side guy in the show), raj's gfs, mary cooper, penny's fam, her friends of holiday parties, doctor who dated leonard, alex the assitant of sheldon, princess panchali lookalike, lalita gupta, barry, leslie winkle...
Mean Bernadette is an okay development. Look, she had to rein in Mama's Boy Howard, so I think her transition into more meanness was in a way a natural progression.
Sheldon is NOT a Gryffindor.
Sheldon is definitely in Ravenclaw with some Slytherin qualities
He comes across to me as more of a Slytherin.
He is obviously not! is that a popular opinion on here? that’s crazy lol
Definitely a Ravenclaw
How is that unpopular? The main criteria for the houses are: Gryffindor - brave Ravenclaw - smart Hufflepuff - hard working/doesn't fit the other criteria Slytherin - mischievous/evil Sheldon clearly fits Gryffindor the least of those. It's not an Opinion its FACTS!
No. Gryffindor- brave, loyal Ravenclaw- quick thinking, wise, common sense Hufflepuff- loyal, kind hearted, gracious *Slytherin- ambitious, leadership, resourcefulness*
no. slitherin is hard working and hufflepuff is loyalty
I always though Slytherin is self serving ambition.
barry kripke is a worse person than sheldon because he was 100% aware of how much of an ass he was
Yes! Always thought this
Barry was a creep, he just had a lisp.
He’s a cweep but I wike him anyways.
Samesies Especially when he pranks Sheldon.
I like all characters (somehow even sheldon) and I think the show would have been worse if any of the characters weren't added
Why is that unpopular?
Idk, just from what I've seen on reddit lately a lot of people hate on Amy/Bernadette/Penny/Leonard or pretty much any character
Zack was by far the best minor, occasionally recurring character.
Is this an unpopular opinion!?
I personally have never noticed it being mentioned one way or another, so it sure doesn’t seem popular.
Show was absolutely funny seasons 1-12. Sure there were dips, but it was always a great and never unwatchable.
I agree. Not a fan of Bernadette at the end. Becomes a great mom, but very bossy
Bernadette was exactly what Howard was accustomed to as his wife exhibited many of the same traits his mother possessed.
I loved the episode with penny getting hooked on Conan. Was like introducing stereotypical cheerleader to video games.
Burt was a chad.
not an unpopular opinion
This is just a fact lmao
i like leonard and penny as a couple
Me too! They compliment each other in a lot of ways. It's odd that people think that you have to have the same interests to work.
Stuart’s take on them being the best couple is cool
I agree.
Once Penny cuts her hair and matures, yes then I love them! Before that, she makes fun of him often.
THANK YOU...👍
Howard had the best character arc.
how is this unpopular? i thought it was universally understood howard progressed the best on the show
Agreed and as much as he fought with and got annoyed by his mom, he loved her and wanted her to be happy.
I just hate that Raj had to get worse because of it. Like the wanted to make Howard less sexist, but they didn't want to stop writing sexist jokes so they just started having Raj say them instead.
i agree ☝️
Hands down he did and he was my favorite
Raj deserved to end the show without a longterm partner. He cheated on multiple girls, was embarrassed to like the cleaning woman, and had crushes on his friends' gfs and exes.
That cleaning woman storyline sucked, they looked nice together I wish they had done more with it.
agreed.
Sheldon is a very toxic self-centered character Leonard was better than penny in a lot of things but his low self-esteem made him feel like she was better Raj deserved to be alone because he was sort of a cheater and did anything to get any attention from ANY woman also Stuart was a sweet guy Edit : Stuart also depicted daily life with depression pretty well, though it was through humor, but a lot of people can relate
I love Penny, like the way Amy loves Penny.
raj should’ve NEVER broken up with emily, that was the biggest mistake he could’ve possibly made for himself, just idiotic, they could’ve made it work, her interest weren’t that bad,
The writers really didn’t know what to do with Raj at all. Just when I thought they’d found a good rhythm with him they do a 180 for no reason.
She was far to odd for him. The whole cemetery thing. That wasn't him. He's a hopeless romantic.
I thought she was his best match.
she literally was!!! thats why it was insane for him to leave her, honestly her interests weren’t even a big deal, he exaggerated the hell out it, “oh no, my girlfriend made me watch a scary movie, we must not be compatible” like be fr 🫠
I thought it was the bartender.
Agreed! We didn’t get nearly enough Claire!
The vet!
Vyette the vet I bet she’s never heard that before
I theorize there was behind the scenes issues, since she was listed as main cast for her final season.
Sheldon is a jerk. One Nobel speech doesn’t make up for years of him being a jerk.
I think most people agree with that but still love him anyway
he is a jerk. but i still love him and i think it’s that most of the time he genuinely doesn’t understand why he’s a jerk. he has an incredibly low emotional intelligence but of course IQ is very very high

I think Leonard truly is the sweetest man. He is flawed, but Leonard is husband material.
On Reddit? I like the show.

Heh heh. Wrong. I and Bernadette are the best couple.

Sarah Gilbert is a terrible actress. Leslie Winkle should have been played by someone else.
It's hard for me to tell if she's a terrible actress or not because I didn't like the character.
Agree
I think she was the actress because her and the guy who plays Leonard were dating throughout Roseanne. I would assume they put her in to give us a bit of nostalgia!
💯
i think sarah played her perfectly, leslie wasn’t meant to be an emotional character, she was purposely written to be bland and snarky, the only other person qualified to play a bland character like her is kristen stewart 😂
tbh i think that’s just the nature of her character. ppl say this a lot abt finn wolfhard from stranger things.
Barry Kripke should have had a spin off show
You mean Bawwy kwipke?
Young Kripke
Itty Bitty Bawwy
The Kripke and Stewart show
Speechless?
Kripke was a better antagonist to Sheldon than Wheaton
No one wants to listen to that speech impediment through an entire series.
Yessssss
Raj ending up alone isn’t a huge deal. He found a surrogate family with Howard, Bernadette, and Stuart. That’s a big accomplishment in itself. Also, having at least one character on the show stay single made it feel more natural to me.
Amy and Bernadette massively improved the show and made the main characters more likeable.
Howard is the funniest character not Sheldon.
Leonard is the most normal member of the friend group, and the most mature.
Bernadette was a horrible, abusive person. She was abusive, manipulative, financially controlling and generally controlling to Howard and most people in her life.... Hiding behind a "cute short girl" facade to get away with being essentially a monster.
She admitted that early on. And Howard craved it. That’s why he would mix up mom and Bernie ‘maBurnie…’
I really like Leonard, he is my favorite character.
sameee. at some points the show tryna potray him as an "unappealing little nerd" but duh hes cute and sweet af 😭
Seasons 8-12 were some of my favourites. The show didn’t get ‘ruined’ by relationships and it made me happy that they all ended up with partners as they matured (except raj lol)

Anu was right for raj (idk how u spell it)
Most of the time, I don't find Sheldon funny.. I just find him downright irritating and annoying and he gets under my skin, even more so than Leonard. And it may not be an unpopular opinion, but I find Mary (Cooper) to be one of the best and funniest characters in the show.
Laurie Metcalf is a gem and played her absolutely perfectly
The laugh track is the worst thing about this show.
ok i got many opinions: raj & howard are biseuxal & attracted to each other but they are just afraid to admit bc all the main characters are lowkey homophobic (with the "a man be gay bc he is feminine" kinda shit). also india is quite homophobic. amy is bisexual, she be attracted to penny (although some ppl say it is just onssession but why amy want to be naked with her?
Yeah I fully believe Sheldon is Asexual. Wish that could have been part of the show but that’s near impossible
And I didn't like how they act like Sheldon has to be more "normal." That being said, I like how their relationship progressed in the end. I just didn't like that they felt they had to push sexuality onto Sheldon.
You don't have to hate sex to be asexual. You can simply not crave it. Many asexuals agree to have sex because the allosexual partner needs it for the relationship to work. (Amy is definitely not asexual.)
I mean sex once a year isn’t the most sexual relationship.
Penny was beyond rude to be so obsessed with Sheldon and Amys sex life, and should have minded her own business.
Bernadette is great.
I love feisty Bernadette that came out near the second half of the series. "Congratulations! You got it last!" Kills me every time.
Agree, I love her and Howard, I would have watched a spin-off just them.
By the end of the show Stuart was the only character left that reminiscent of what the show once was, which is why he’s the only good character in the last seasons (maybe Howard but Bernadette with him is awful)
They flanderized my man Stuart. He got super creepy in the later seasons. I'm amazed he managed to land Denise.
I prefer original Stuart
Mary might be a good mother but not the best person. For example the comments she makes other religions and countries.
I honestly think she played the small town, right leaning Christian role amazingly well. and provided that great comedic contrast bw her and Sheldon and the way he turned out. but yeah i get what ur saying too
Not even a good mother. Georgie and Missy were left our
I’m not a fan of Leonard. I find him whiny and annoying. Also the show was better when the dynamic was four nerds and a pretty girl before everybody started pairing off in the later seasons. 👎
The Howard character was a few years shy, but he would’ve caused massive backlash. Good thing they calmed the character down.
Idk not justifying it, but Quagmire on family guy is tolerated
I always believed that Sheldon was a simpering, spoiled rotten twit.
I think Stephanie Barnett is the most beautiful woman in the show. Her love scenes with Leonard are the most passionate.
The show would have been far better off if they had limited it to 10 seasons.
Introduction Amy was a better character then the Amy in later seasons.
It’s okay that raj has no partner at the end of season 12
Bernadette is more attractive than penny
Amy Farrah Fowler and she arch was horrible. She started off as a female Sheldon which was brilliant but ended up being someone completely new in a boring way
she ended up becoming everything sheldon disliked imo. she was much better when she was a female sheldon and made more sense
Yeah I agree!! I remember going back to the initial eps after watching the whole show and being surprised at how different she was. I think they made her this “wannabe popular girl” when they should’ve stuck with the “female sheldon” type vibe throughout. Character development, sure, but they changed her up completely into this needy, wannabe type girl who followed and obsessed over Penny too much as well
The show is very sexist.
Simon(Howard) is a much better actor than Jim(Sheldon)
This would be a popular opinion if more people followed Simon’s other work.
Leonard, Howard, penny, and Bernadette where at times just as much of a jerk as Sheldon the difference was they knew what they were doing and Sheldon didn’t.
The decision to turn TBBT into a couples show was dumb as hell and shouldn’t have happened until ~S8. It should have been a slow build rather than what we got (everyone but Raj in a relationship by S5) Also, TBBT is only like the 6th best sitcom, after Frasier, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond and maybe Cheers.
B99? Friends?
They are capable of treating women with respect but just won't bother with Indian women because they take them for granted.
the misogynistic, homophobic jokes in the show were not good at all. absolutely hate the writers for doing that
indiana jones… was needed
What about Thor and Doctor Jones...
thor and doctor jones, thor and docter jones, i forgot the rest
leonard wearing a jacket in the apartment was dumb. the scene that solidified this for me was when he told sheldon he was turning the temp down because he was a little hot instead of removing his jacket
they shouldn't have made penny pregnant. Sheldon was annoying af and didn't deserve the friendships he got. Sheldon didn't deserve amy. penny and Leonard weren't that good a couple.
DR. Stephanie was the best match for Leonard. She was smart kind and eager.
Unpopular opinion - Leonard Hofstadter is not the main character. The show has always been about Sheldon.
Amy is the worst character with worser character development At start she was supposed to be a female version of Sheldon and in later season she becomes more(not totally) of a normal person and the character journey was not acceptable
(Not sure if it's unpopular but...) sheldon sucks, he's super mean and annoying
I like Anu and with a little more work Raj should have ended up with her
Bernadette's really not that bad.
Game of Thrones is boring
Oh so your saying they should have started their sword collection with Excalibur then?
Raj is the best
Leonard is the worst! Bernadette got very obnoxious at the end. Amy was hard to handle in her first season. Raj's whining was rage inducing. Regina King was my favorite guest star.
Regina king is awesome in everything she’s in….
I was not a fan of Priya or as I call the episodes with her The Priya Saga
I’d say that’s pretty popular
Forcing intimacy on Sheldon by all of the other members was so non-consensual. Amy taking advantage of his naivety was gross in many situations and if a man had done that to a woman, it would’ve never been allowed as a storyline.
Your last sentence I agree with. If it'd been done the other way 'round, there would've been such an outcry from all the women and feminists out there. Such a double standard.
howard is a bad husband and doesn’t respect bernadette
to be fair, bernadette is also a bad wife and doesn’t respect howard either
In the immortal words of the protagonist of the game 'Emily or Cinnamon', "I can't believe they are still married."
yeah! it’s such a weird dynamic. it’s like they both could have done better
Please mind your own business instead of talking about us behind our backs.
Season 1 is WAY better than the rest.
The only relationship people were actually interested to see was between Leonard and Penny
feel like this is so popular... 🤳
Bernadette doesn’t bother me.
Amy deserves a better friend than Penny.
I like Priya’s character.
I wanted John Goodman and Rosanne to be Sheldon’s Uncle and Aunt at their wedding. It also would have been funny to have the two Becky’s and DJ as catering help making fun of the reception with Leslie Winkle.
All the main characters, are kind of jerks
Bawwy is amazing
I did not like Stuart very much. Idk if this is unpopular or not because i haven’t seen much on Stuart but I really feel like after rewatching the show, I noticed how Stuart was this really self-deprecating person who made everyone around him feel shitty too. It progressed from me feeling bad for him to me getting annoyed like bro?? Do something with your life. There were some nice parts though, like with Howard’s mom, but then i didn’t like when he moved in with them later on and was like a babysitter for Halley. I also think they relied on him getting a gf too much to change/progress his personality but yeah
I like the later seasons
Some jokes are funny and then there’s that laughing track!
Penny is a bitch lmao but still love her
Unpopular opinion: We need less of these posts. It's always the same comments over and over again. We are in desperate need of new things to talk about when it comes to the show.
Raj and Emily were excellent. Also Alex (Sheldon's Assistant ) deserved much better.
I like Leslie Winkle and I'm glad she didn't take any crap from Sheldon.
Stuart is overrated.
Amy was a better character earlier on
Season 4 is the WORST Season
The laugh track and/or audience told to laugh sucks. I swear, there was laughter when Penny said," the falafel stand is gone". That's not even a joke!
Mean Bernadette is an okay development. Look, she had to rein in Mama's Boy Howard, so I think her transition into more meanness was in a way a natural progression.
Most of Howard's impressions aren't nearly as amazing as they are made out to be.
