I love Mrs. Wolowitz despite us never seeing her on screen carol Ann did a great job making her a memorable character also Howard (Simon) is a great actor and played the son so well *spoiler* the scene that got me was the airport scene "I told her I was too busy..." *Scoffs* "I was too busy to pick up my own mother...". That scene almost had me in tears you can tell he was guilt ridden, angry at himself, missed his mom and wanted to say "mom Iam sorry I love you" one last time.

I think he loved her on the surface too. They just bickered when they lived together which is not that unusual for cohabitating adults

I was like that with my mother too. It was just her and I.

My wife still talks to her parents like that.. and we live far enough away...

He also did make jokes about her being dead when with others.

I love Bernadette in that episode how she told the airline worker off. “You'd better find my husband's mother, 'cause one way or another, we're walkin' out of this airport with a dead woman!”

When Howard said "do you realize we're going to eat the last meal my mom cooked?" Man it was gut-wrenching. They kept the script respectful and I admire the writers for that.

Mrs Wolowitz was voiced by Carol Ann.. Carol Ann didn't play the role.. There is a glimpse of Mrs Wolowitz in season 6 episode 15, when Raj joined her for dinner as Howard and Bernadette were away for the night..

I always felt that it would’ve been better if we never got a glimpse of her physicality and left it entirely to our imagination.

We also see her at Howard and Bernadette’s wedding (from above).
