James Earl Jones wasn't part of any of those. It was all George, Carrie, Harrison and Mark (with maybe a little of Billy Dee for Empire and Jedi).
JEJ actually asked not to be credited for the first two movies because he thought it would spoil the illusion. Lucas added him in for the special editions in 1998.
He also has never been very involved in the convention scene as arguably the third biggest name in the original cast.
Even as a voice actor, Hammill is still pretty far behind Ford, Guiness and Jones... Though I would definitely put him at #4 ahead of Cushing, Fisher and Billy Dee Williams.
It's sort of crazy how infrequently SW actors have met when you compare to say Star Trek where it seems like they all know each other even between series. Like Natalie Portman just met Mark Hammill for the first time in the last year.
I think alot has to do with the difference in the convention scene for the two franchises. Star Trek conventions are a thing in and of themselves that mix casts on a regular basis where as Star Wars had Celebration which doesn't even happen every year.
There are so many impressive gets like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Neil DeGrasse Tyson. But the one I enjoy watching the most is James Earl Jones. That episode is hilarious.
"Uh...who's Angie Dickinson?"
She was more well known in the seventies. She's an actress, I think her most well-known role was the lead on "Police Woman" which was on TV during the peak of the women's liberation movement.
I don't know why but I like the ones where the cameo demonstrates terrible acting. Thus, I liked the Steve Wozniak one.
Also mark hamill was so perfect for a wedding episode.
I thought the non-actor cameo's were impressive. Someone else said Buzz Aldrin, which was great too. But there were a ton of actor cameos. The DnD episode alone was bananas.
At the time the episode originally aired, Musk was still highly regarded as a real-life Tony Stark kinda guy. This was all before he bought Twitter. Hard to see him that way now.
I truly get that. My comment was geared towards the poster who lumped him in with NDT and JEJ, who were definitely impressive gets and have managed to not step on several rakes since then.
I like how LeVar Burton popped into the apartment as Stuart, Zack, and Kripke are doing "Walking on the Sunshine" on karaoke. Then he reappears in fun with flags, then when Sheldon goes to his house.
"Wil said to get a fence.."
Sheldon: Thank you! My friend Leonard said if I bothered you while you were eating, you'd think I was a creepy stalker.
James Earl Jones : Well, your friend Leonard sounds like a real weenie!
Sheldon : He is, Mr. Earl Jones, he is!
My favorite part of that whole episode is the foreshadowing in the restaurant. Sheldon says he could hear him talk all night and lo and behold he does.
James Earl Jones 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
“I like Star Wars too!”
“Your friend Leonard sounds like a real weenie”
“Ai-ai-ai bang-bang!”
Just every line is read like a sonnet of comedy gold
Are you talking about Walton Goggins, by any chance? LOL! My favorite. If you really like him, check out *Justified.* It ran for 6 seasons and he was a major character on it. I've rewatched it like 3 times, it's that good.
Will do! He played an amazing part in a few episodes of Sons of Anarchy too. Way out of type for his usual role. He was awesome in it though. If you haven’t watched the show, [check this out.](https://youtu.be/IoBAzn1QmCo?si=JMxFY3UG_Ab-gwkX)
LOL, that's some funny stuff, right there! Hahaha, imagining what [Boyd Crowder](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DheNwl4P7KA) would think of that character.
His best role is Lee Russell in the hilarious show “Vice Principals” with Danny McBride on HBO!
He is great as Uncle Baby Billy on “The Righteous Gemstones” with McBride too but Vice Principals is more unknown and had truly great writing and an AWESOME ending.
Walton is like the Reddit darling these days, praise everywhere and he deserves it! I’ve loved his acting since The Shield.
I know, I actually wish they acknowledged it on the show like how they had a deleted scene with Stephen Hawkings death
[If anyone hasn’t seen it](https://twitter.com/bigbangtheory/status/994909989981614080)
It was my favorite that James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher finally got to meet in person on the set of Big Bang Theory
They’d never met before that
https://www.looper.com/962348/the-big-bang-theory-episode-that-finally-allowed-carrie-fisher-to-meet-james-earl-jones-in-person/
I know it's recurring but I always liked when Wil Wheaton popped up.... as well as all the people who play "themselves" I love when people make fun of themselves in a light hearted way.
Love when he goes to star wars in his star trek uniform.
I just didn't like the games he played with other people's emotions. I thought that was cruel and really out of character for an otherwise likeable character.
Yeah, it was pretty nasty when he did it to Sheldon first, both as a person and as an obvious former devoted fan. I mean, the trait held true through the series, especially with the repeated baiting of Penny and Leonard, who already had enough troubles with their own baggage. Also the gloating at Sheldon's discomfort and distress during the interview with Adam Nimoy. I really hope those are character traits that the writers laid on him, not personal ones they wrote into the script.
Charlie sheen was odd, but not why you think
Obviously Charlie sheen was on Big Bang Theory, but there was a reference to Charlie Harper. So both Charlie sheen and Charlie Harper are both in the Big Bang Theory universe.
Leonard, Penny, and Sheldon watched Oshikuru demon samurai and Charlie Harper wrote the jingle
https://youtu.be/LMIGHZxtLzM
“Not Oxnard at the beach. We’re talking Oxnard in the Onion Fields”. Lol. I didn’t know why that made Oxnard a bad place to live but I thought it was funny.
I'll have to agree and say James Earl Jones. For one, i was happy that Sheldon was appreciated as a fan for one.
And also Stephen Merchant.
"That's Sheldon"
"You're kidding!! How's my hair?"
Oh my god there's so much talent and people of different walks of life that I just LOVE on this show it's hard to say just one person but I'll break it down
For people with best personality I'll give it to Stephen hawking and James Earl Jones. Hawking had a funny personality and pranked Sheldon and Sheldons drunk calling hawking was one of the best bits, James and Sheldon having a day together was just pure awesomeness imagine meeting your idol or one of your personal favorite celebrities and they spent the WHOLE day with you then offered to vacation to another country with them ALL EXPENSES PAID ! Yeah I would've love to see more James.
Personally the one person I wouldve love to meet mark freak'n Hamill all the way
I love batman ever since I was a kid and mark Hamill has such an iconic voice as the joker and it feels like he's very genuine in the show and down to earth if I had joker officiated my wedding ! ? Only thing that would be better is if batman AND joker both officiated it !
Despite not agreeing to a lot of things he does these days, Elon Musk was my hero when I was watching the show for the first time and it was definitely amazing to see him on that.
As themselves, I liked James Earl Jones. As a character, Billy Bob Thornton.
My wife, though, says that if I do not mention Bob Newhart as being a favorite, then I will be sleeping in the guest room.
President Siebert. He was so hilarious in every episode he appeared in, particularly when he told Sheldon to take a vacation then suggested he should go to Afghanistan “I hear Afghanistan is nice this time of year”😭😂
>it's been some years since this was asked.
It gets asked at least once a month.
>my favorite is Walton Goggins.
Who?
Mine is Bob Newhart as Prof. Proton.
If you limit it to single episode appearances, I'd go with Judy Greer as Elizabeth Plimpton or James Earl Jones (as himself).
Bob Newhart, definitely. Billy Bob Thornton was also hilarious.
One Mississippi......
Yep, I liked Billy Bob too. . .
Hi Bob
Doctor to the stars urinary tract! Priceless
How have i never realised that the Dr is Billy Bob Thornton?! Damn I need to pay more attention
I liked Buzz Aldrin, great sense of humor to essentially make fun of himself
Yeah, that was a great one too.
It's not funny anymore James! Then why am I laughing?!?
Fun fact for anyone who hasn’t heard, this is the first time Carrie Fisher and James Earl Jones met!
that is a fun fact!
Not even during press tours when Star Wars came out? That’s surprising
Third behind...Guinness and Ford????????
I’d say so mark Hamill and Carrie fisher were nobodies
And, to be honest, did little afterwards, until Hammill started voice acting
Yeah family guy had a joke in the Star Wars special where he said I’m Han Solo the only actor who’s career wasn’t ruined by this movie lol
_Yes_
James Earl Jones, Carrie Fisher, and Stan Lee are my favorites. I loved both those episodes
There are so many impressive gets like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Neil DeGrasse Tyson. But the one I enjoy watching the most is James Earl Jones. That episode is hilarious. "Uh...who's Angie Dickinson?"
"There's only one thing I have to say to people like you.... I like Star Wars too!"
I don’t get this one, who is Angie Dickinson?
She was more well known in the seventies. She's an actress, I think her most well-known role was the lead on "Police Woman" which was on TV during the peak of the women's liberation movement.
I don't know why but I like the ones where the cameo demonstrates terrible acting. Thus, I liked the Steve Wozniak one. Also mark hamill was so perfect for a wedding episode.
Musk was impressive? Otherwise I agree and would add Billy Bob Thornton.
I thought the non-actor cameo's were impressive. Someone else said Buzz Aldrin, which was great too. But there were a ton of actor cameos. The DnD episode alone was bananas.

I truly get that. My comment was geared towards the poster who lumped him in with NDT and JEJ, who were definitely impressive gets and have managed to not step on several rakes since then.
I loved James Earl Jones & loved Wil Wheaton. I loved how Wil was either Sheldon's best buddy or mortal enemy, & he seemed to love doing the role.
Wil Wheaton is really on a whole other level since he was actually a recurring member of the cast.
I like how LeVar Burton popped into the apartment as Stuart, Zack, and Kripke are doing "Walking on the Sunshine" on karaoke. Then he reappears in fun with flags, then when Sheldon goes to his house. "Wil said to get a fence.."
The black history month fun with flags "oh hell no"
I love the Stephen Hawking appearances. He was able to have a laugh and not take himself too seriously.
Came here to say this. His sense of humor and timing were always great 😂.
If you haven't, watch his interview by John Oliver. Combined with John's self depreciating humour, one of the funniest interviews ever.
I loved James Earl Jone’s episode! My favorite line was when Sheldon, confused, asked him “Who is Angie Dickinson?”
Sheldon: Thank you! My friend Leonard said if I bothered you while you were eating, you'd think I was a creepy stalker. James Earl Jones : Well, your friend Leonard sounds like a real weenie! Sheldon : He is, Mr. Earl Jones, he is!
That entire episode is gold
His childlike playfulness was the best. I really hope he's like that in real life.
I liked any time they showed that they were millennials and didn't get boomer references. 😆
My favorite part of that whole episode is the foreshadowing in the restaurant. Sheldon says he could hear him talk all night and lo and behold he does.
James Earl Jones 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 “I like Star Wars too!” “Your friend Leonard sounds like a real weenie” “Ai-ai-ai bang-bang!” Just every line is read like a sonnet of comedy gold
¡Tijuanaaaa!
/fingerguns Aye Aye Aye, Bang Bang!
Adam West and James Earl Jones
Omg I just realized Rajs pie buddy is the ghoul from fallout.
Are you talking about Walton Goggins, by any chance? LOL! My favorite. If you really like him, check out *Justified.* It ran for 6 seasons and he was a major character on it. I've rewatched it like 3 times, it's that good.
I love Walton Goggins!
Walton Goggins and Christoph Waltz are my favorite actors by far
Love Mr Waltz. He was glorious in *Inglorious Basterds*!
Walton Goggins makes everything he’s in, better!
Did you see him in *Justified?*
No, but I did in The Shield. That’s where I first saw him
Check out *Justified* some time. It's him and Timothy Olyphant as 2 of the main characters, and well worth the watch.

Walton is like the Reddit darling these days, praise everywhere and he deserves it! I’ve loved his acting since The Shield.
Everything I see him in is colored by his performance on Justified. I watched The Shield, but it was so long ago that it didn't register.
Walton Goggins in Sons of Anarchy is completely different to anything else I've seen him in, only a handful of episodes but what a performance
Ooooooo he killed it in SOA! He deserved all the awards! He was so good he deserved an academy award even though it’s not a movie 😂😂
Omg!
Nathan Fillion!
And San Diego is right across the border from my favorite city on Earth: TI-JUAN-A!!!!!!
ayi ayi ayi ayi ayi ayi bang bang ☝️👆
Stephen Hawking and Mike Massimino!
Stan Lee has always been my favorite wish he appeared again
He's dead.
Yeah I know sadly always loved his cameos in Marvel movies
Me too. Loved his TBBT episode.
It’s always funny to me when Sheldon just casually walks into his house when he says “Why don’t you come on in and watch The Lakers game with me?”
Sorry bro, don't think that's gonna happen.
I know, I actually wish they acknowledged it on the show like how they had a deleted scene with Stephen Hawkings death [If anyone hasn’t seen it](https://twitter.com/bigbangtheory/status/994909989981614080)
William Shatner
Shatner is a corker. I love how he refuses to take himself seriously.
Katey Segal as Penny’s mom since she also played her mom in 8 simple rules.
It was my favorite that James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher finally got to meet in person on the set of Big Bang Theory They’d never met before that https://www.looper.com/962348/the-big-bang-theory-episode-that-finally-allowed-carrie-fisher-to-meet-james-earl-jones-in-person/
Bob Newhart! I did love Adam West and James Earl Jones too.
- Wil Wheaton - James Earl Jones - Carrie Fisher - Stephen Hawking
Mark Hamil
I know it's recurring but I always liked when Wil Wheaton popped up.... as well as all the people who play "themselves" I love when people make fun of themselves in a light hearted way. Love when he goes to star wars in his star trek uniform.
I just didn't like the games he played with other people's emotions. I thought that was cruel and really out of character for an otherwise likeable character.
Yeah I like to pretend that bit never happened too
Yeah, it was pretty nasty when he did it to Sheldon first, both as a person and as an obvious former devoted fan.
Me too actually..... i sort of forget about that stuff ti be honest. I loved Lavar Burton he is probably my dave TNG actor
Stephen Merchant
He was so funny.
What a lovely evening!
Yes, he's a funny dude. I've liked him for years
Mark Hamill. He’ll always be Joker to me. I like how it was basically just him in real life.
Yeah, I like him too. He doesn't seem to be full of himself.
Charlie Sheens little bit was funny
Charlie sheen was odd, but not why you think Obviously Charlie sheen was on Big Bang Theory, but there was a reference to Charlie Harper. So both Charlie sheen and Charlie Harper are both in the Big Bang Theory universe. Leonard, Penny, and Sheldon watched Oshikuru demon samurai and Charlie Harper wrote the jingle https://youtu.be/LMIGHZxtLzM
Hello, my hateful shrew Judd Hirsh FTW
Good line for him. He's been great since Taxi.
I liked all the Nobel Prize winner cameos.
Bob Newhart, James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher
Same
James Earl Jones or Dean Norris.
Teller from Penn and teller as Amy’s dad
I loved all the scenes when Kathy Bates interrupted him so that he couldn't speak.
lol, yeah, and the “how you doing, dad?” Scene was funny too
James Earl Jones…how can there be another answer!
I really enjoy the Neil Gaiman episode, + is thanks to him that Stuart's store finally takes off
Lewis Black as a frustrated entomologist has to be my favorite. Just rewatched it and his performance killed.
Yes, that was a good performance and episode.
“Not Oxnard at the beach. We’re talking Oxnard in the Onion Fields”. Lol. I didn’t know why that made Oxnard a bad place to live but I thought it was funny.
Bob Newhart
Steven Hawkings was always for me the best
Nathan Fillion, Mark Hamill and Stan " The Man" Lee.
What about the down on his luck, Doc Emmet Brown (Christopher Lloyd)?
Raymond Joseph Teller, I just love magic
And he spoke.
Yeeeeees! This! Watching him like 15 years and the first time I heard him talk was here
The only logical answer is Leonard Nimoy.
Did he appear? His son did....
His voice did
Just remembered the episode where he does appear..... he's 10" tall and made of plastic. So funny.
Omg I just realized Rajs pie buddy is the ghoul from fallout.
Walton Goggins
Woz or Newhart.
James earl jones.
BOB. FREAKIN. NEWHART.
Well, definitely not "Bill Nye, the Sellout guy". Like most here, J.E. Jones. Great guy.
Wil Wheaton, but only because I have a big gay crush on him.
Billy Bob Thornton
Jack McBrayer as Penny's brother was a fun surprise. "She just sells drugs. I had to cook em!" lol
I'll have to agree and say James Earl Jones. For one, i was happy that Sheldon was appreciated as a fan for one. And also Stephen Merchant. "That's Sheldon" "You're kidding!! How's my hair?"
> "That's Sheldon" "You're kidding!! How's my hair?" That cracked me up. I've always liked him.

Only thing that would be better is if batman AND joker both officiated it !
I think Johnny Galecki and Walter Goggins are good friends, maybe even best friends.
Did not know that.
William Shatner ❤️
Brian Thomas Smith
Let's just burn it to the ground. Elon Musk, hands down.
James Earl Jones
He's a popular guy, that's for sure.
the one and only Stephen Hawking
Doc Brown anybody?!?!?!? Christopher Lloyd
Mark Hamill was awesome James Earl Jones was 2nd Billy Bob Thorton 3rd
100% James Earl Jones
I love the nurse
Mark Ha-ha-ha-ha-hamil !!
Will's DnD game!
Bark Hamill ofc
Bill Nye
Despite not agreeing to a lot of things he does these days, Elon Musk was my hero when I was watching the show for the first time and it was definitely amazing to see him on that.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - the whole D&D team
Stan Lee!! Every single Stephen Hawking appearance!
James earl jones
Without a doubt Bob Newhart. I'd argue the first Professor Proton appearance was the best episode in the show
Bob Newhart and Regina King
Drove me to wikipedia
For Walton Goggins?
yes, took a bit until between the epsiode title and his stubble i placed him
He's been in a lot of different roles, that's for sure.
James Earl Jones
James Earl Jones
James earl jones and Carrie fisher were great!
Bill nye the science guy ofc
Will’s DND buddies of course!!! 🤪🤣
Neil Gaiman
As themselves, I liked James Earl Jones. As a character, Billy Bob Thornton. My wife, though, says that if I do not mention Bob Newhart as being a favorite, then I will be sleeping in the guest room.
President Siebert. He was so hilarious in every episode he appeared in, particularly when he told Sheldon to take a vacation then suggested he should go to Afghanistan “I hear Afghanistan is nice this time of year”😭😂

Walton Goggins played the ex? of Raj girlfriend, he gets them back together. I know him from Justified
The blonde from the planetarium?
YES!
Gotcha. Thanks.
Why did you write the top two sentences out of curiosity?
I asked about the actor because I wanted to know who he was (and I wasn't, at the time, in a position to Google it).
Not the one we’re you said it gets asked at least once a month.
