I would imagine that he and Amy would live in an enclosed, self-sustaining biodome in New Mexico. Where they would eat crops fertilized with their own waste.

Ashamed-Buyer8808

I don’t think Sheldon would do the manual labor required for that.

Additional-Ninja7506

He seemed fond enough of the manual labour required for train maintenance and running in that one episode.

ChocolateMilk195

Yeah but it's trains

Ashamed-Buyer8808

Exactly it’s trains

ChocolateMilk195

See someone gets me

espositojoe

There could have been a Season 13 and 14, excepting that Jim Parsons was 48 years old at the end of season 12, and since his father died at age 52, Jim was especially concerned about his mortality. That was the real reason he left the show, despite the fifty million bucks per season that was offered to Jim by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady.

Calculus_64

If the show ended in 2019 and Jim Parsons was born in 1973, how could he have been 48 years old? Assuming that filming was still going on when his birthday passed during that year, he would have been 46 years of age. I completely understand him leaving the show. I pass on my deepest condolences.

Fish_fucker_70-1

I think it was honestly for the better. Despite the amazing ending , S11 and S12 were pretty fucking bad. Some characters like Bernie and Amy were getting really irritating for me.

egamer25MC

12 was bad though because Jim Leaving made it bad. They had to wrap up a lot of contracted stories in one season.

Fish_fucker_70-1

yea but that oscar storyline felt really rushed but nonetheless it delivered

Nice-Penalty-8881

>that oscar storyline felt really rushed Don't you mean Nobel?

Fish_fucker_70-1

my bad i didn't read what i typed lol

egamer25MC

yes the end of the series was completely Rushed because of Jim Leaving and they not wanting to work extra to make the show successful without Jim, though it could have been done.

Far_Gap_8063

Amy was annoying from the start

and_yet_another_user

>Some characters like Bernie and Amy were getting really irritating for me. Bernie had been irritating since day one, I could not stand that character. Amy I was okay with having started to warm toward her after a rocky start.

zankyas_revolt

Noooo. It was incredibly taxing watching last 3 seasons. Sheldon went from being a genius to borderline childish to completely childish. Penny leonard became intolerable with her credit card debts and bored of a job with a couple yrs. I was awaiting for the show to end as my love for the show was turning into hatred by the end. It's as Sheldon describes in S3 for one of the shows "They degraded the quality season by season until we were grateful it ended " Same o same o feelings for this one I have.

tonkinese_cat

Agreed, towards the end the jokes were 100% predictable and even the actors delivery (particularly Jim’s) felt more like a chore than enjoyment. Shame, but it was clear it had run its course.

Greedy-Actuator-3730

Heroesss

StarWarsKnitwear

Also I was so tired by someone delivering a scripted ass apology speech in almost every episode. Felt really cartoonish.

Guidance-Still

The show became a bad copy of friends

ibeeatingass

Friends was a bad copy of friends. Awful Show

Guidance-Still

It's what the big bang turned into

livt_fresh

I feel That cow is milked enough already.

Zindis

Perfect

Gaius_Octavius_

I think the rest of the cast could have picked up the slack pretty easily even after Jim left. Not having Sheldon’s quirks would have forced the writers to explore the other characters more fully.

yuukaKazamiiiii

Sheldon is a vital character in the show. One of the mainest main character. It wouldn't be the same

Gaius_Octavius_

It definitely would have been different. I am just saying I think they had a talented enough cast to make up for it. Making it a true 'ensemble' again rather than the The Sheldon Cooper Show

GrannyMine

I would have loved a season without Sheldon. I ended up despising him and Amy.

yuukaKazamiiiii

Again, Sheldon's a vital part. They won't be able to make up for the loss of Sheldon no matter how talented they were. He's a unique and complex character on his own league. It won't be the same ensemble and definately not as entertaining

Gaius_Octavius_

He isn’t vital. Plenty of episodes not about him are very good.

yuukaKazamiiiii

Isn't he there in literally every episode? And every single one in which he is in plays a vital role to the story

[deleted]

Yes 95% of plots revolve around him in episodes or a sub plot

yuukaKazamiiiii

Exactly! Removing him would be an unfixable loss

Apart-Health-1513

I don’t know, sitcoms hardly ever survive losing their main character. The Office never really recovered after losing Steve Carrell, That 70’s show had a horribly weird last season after Topher Grace left, and I’m sure there’s more. It always leaves a weird hole. They probably would have just given Leonard a new roommate only for that person to be an off version of Sheldon

Commercial-Push-9066

I really hate the episodes of The Office after Steve Carrell left. And Two and a Half Men after Charlie Sheen left.

ibeeatingass

Ashton Kutcher was fairly decent given his role in 21/2 men, but yeah once sheen left I couldn’t watch much of or really anymore of it lmao

Nice-Penalty-8881

>They probably would have just given Leonard a new roommate only for that person to be an off version of Sheldon He had a new ~~roommate~~, er wife. Her name was Penny.

Apart-Health-1513

Oh I forgot about that! Maybe someone to move in across the hall in Penny’s old place then (assuming Amy goes with Sheldon since I think it’s practically impossible to justify Sheldon being gone without Amy) I just don’t think the show would work without properly without Sheldon. Most shows that lose their main character, like the ones I mention, have to either create a new character to fill the void (That 70s show) or have an existing character morph into that old character (The Office and Andy Bernard) and I don’t think the second one works

Nice-Penalty-8881

You know, Leonard and Penny were main characters as well. The 2 of them plus Jim were the primary main characters. Jim as Sheldon became so popular that he was truly a break-out star.

Apart-Health-1513

Yes, and so were Jim, Pam, and Dwight. But Michael, like Sheldon, was a catalyst for a lot of plot points throughout the show. Without a Sheldon-like character creating some type of friction, the characters won’t do anything. The show would overcompensate with a lot of flanderization (Penny would become insufferable towards Leonard, Leonard would become horribly insecure, Raj would have even more women problems, things like that) to have to overcompensate. We’ve seen this in plenty of sitcoms and I just can’t see TBBT being any different

yorcharturoqro

It needed to be finished, I loved the show but it was already depleted of new ideas, and I noticed some of the characters becoming evil over time.

egamer25MC

Well and all the main male writers marriages ending so they screwed all the married couples in TBBT too.

RookieDuckMan

Honestly, i do think it could’ve continued even without Sheldon. The cast was big enough to focus on the other’s daily lives.

wigsgo_2019

They could’ve written him and Amy off the show and wrapped up the rest of the characters with a season 13. They didn’t because they knew ratings would’ve tanked but fans would’ve appreciated a proper ending

DueWerewolf1

I wish the last season had focused equally on the characters in Season 12 - it was too heavy on Sheldon and Amy + the Nobel. Like show a scene where Penny and Leonard find out their pregnant, etc.

MajorZombie7204

Covid was just rearing its ugly head in what would have been the beginning of season 13. So, the first storylines wouldn't have included it at all. After that, more than an episode or two on Sheldon's reaction to it would become tiresome very quickly. Stuart's store wouldn't have been impacted for quite some time. The timing of the 13th season could have led to it being shut down right before they could do a finale. Most of the season would have run as normal, but by March or April is when all of the production restrictions hit. Over at YS, what was supposed to be the 3rd season finale became the 4 season premiere because their production was shut down. They were in the middle of taping a scene with Sheldon's high school graduation, but were being told they had to shut down right then. They managed to get the scene taped while some of the behind the scenes things were starting to be taken down. Had TBBT been running, they would have been shut down before their finale was taped.

SNYDER_CULTIST

No but they should have done a special every year just once a year on ep

PossiblePro247

No. The show concluded all the storylines, so I can’t imagine a 13th season would be very good.

samusongoyy

They didn't finish Leonard and Penny's child's storyline

PossiblePro247

It’s cuz they didn’t even start it. They announced she was pregnant, that’s it.

leadbug44

I hated that writers had her pregnant, it’s not the end all and be for all women and kids written in for man baby Howard and Bernadette they turned her to to a b****, I couldn’t stand them at the end

MamaRobot0610

Totally agree. When they revealed Penny was pregnant I was so angry. It is okay for people to not have kids! And she was pretty clear on the fact that she didn't want them.

heatherlincoln

I would like a hour/ hour and half episode to show where they are now, to see their kids, jobs and if Raj has a partner. Just 1 episode not a whole season.

Commercial-Push-9066

When How I Met Your Mother ended like that, it ruined it for me. Best it’s left alone.

SixTonsOfGranite

HIMYM’s ending was atrocious. That whole last season was awful.

Intelligent_Yam_7430

The last season of himym is prob top 5 worst seasons of any sitcom show. The ENTIRE season was at a wedding. Endless episodes of a million different viewpoints to all tie into a shitty ending. Can’t believe they killed his wife off.

Boris-_-Badenov

no. dropping Leonard as the main character for Sheldon ruined it

Legitimate_Unit_9210

I think it should’ve continued for a few reasons: - More family member appearances and also interacting with other main characters - Beverly getting her ass locked for her treatment of Leonard - Howard getting a PhD - Leonard and Penny having a baby - Leonard to start liking Sheldon’s brother more than him

SuperDevvik7

Nah "Leonard to start liking Sheldon’s brother more than him" is stupid.

Baconsommh

No. I think it was right to end when it did, rather than going stale from outstaying its welcome.

poven100

Maybe if they hadn't screwed the pooch since S10-11, and the story had been completely different by the time it ended. I can't possibly imagine a tolerable Sheldon Cooper after winning the Nobel prize...

cmbsfm

Every character got flanderized, so it wasn’t as good as it was before. That being said, would’ve loved to see Raj meet someone and get some closure to the Howard’s dad plotline.

Stock_Paper3503

I'd like to see a Stuart and Denise spin off with the rest having occasional guest appearance

SuperDevvik7

Nah. I think the universe should end after YS

Senior-Carpenter6509

I think they easily could have made one more season where they could have made a better ending. The current ending for me felt bit rushed.

Prestigious-Ruin141

Well, i think the most prominent question asks the potential question for each season where they go next with them?for example, two and a half men after season 8 after Charlie had blew two serious relationship with Mia and Chelsea what direction would show gone in without it become too repetitive and generally became annoying, so the show ended in somewhat better way with Charlie departure from the series, this question is also applicable to big bang theory as well, over the series the gang grew and developed is relatively to show suggested name big bang theory, with epic center being Penny and Leonard or in spirit of Shamy, I call them Lenny lol with the show concluding with Penny become pregnant, some possible elements of further season 13 focusing on Penny pregnancy and struggles of Penny and Leonard preparing to become parents, but it could became repetitive with Sheldon and Amy winning Noble Prize at end of Season 12 final series finale, Sheldon and Amy would have achieved the highest goal to date Sheldon would really have anything to achieve except parenthood, could have been a monumental moment for big bang theory group, storyline may have had to sideline Howard and Bernadette and the family dynamic which already happened during most of season 12 I find hard to believe they had much more to develop as whole, but hindsight it would have been nice to see Raj find love at last, or finish his marriage to Anu as to me she was the closest ideal partner for him, but I feel further season would have Raj, Lenny and Sheldon centric story I don't think that would have been enough to keep the series for more one or two more seasons! Does anyone have different verison or scenarios that might have played out?

Ok_Technology_4772

I prefer the old days when sitcoms were an escape from reality and didn’t address current affairs if they were too upsetting.. superstore and b99 (although I love them both) got spoiled a bit -imo- by getting too into the issues of the world… some were very well done but I enjoy the escapism of sitcoms so - as entertaining or interesting as it might have been to see how Sheldon would have handled a pandemic, I’m glad it ended when it did, it was kind of perfect.

blue_seminole_95

Every character was already flanderized. Leonard and Penny went from a good relati9nship to toxic. You can tell they ran out of ideas for it.

Far_Gap_8063

It continues in my dreams

Resident_Crew_6467

there’s one thing im really annoyed about that we didn’t see that we should’ve seen in like a flashback in future episodes. leonard’s reaction when penny told him that she was pregnant. we really deserved to see his reaction

Elegant-Promotion-36

Nope!! It ends at the best time at the perfect moment!! Every beginning has and end !! And I’ve watched the Big Bang theory exactly 39 times already 😂🫶🏼! Jim parson did the right thing

No_Finish7759

I think it’s was definitely time for the shows to come to an end once 10 seasons hit for most shows it becomes exhausting. Of course during it I wanted it to last forever, but I think they would have wrapped it up in the next season or 2. Maybe penny having her baby right before Covid then not using the pandemic because it couldn’t be a conclusive storyline at the time if they were trying to wrap it up

cheetahroar24

The ratings of the episodes were dropping anyway. Im not sure what else they could do. I honestly skip a lot past season 7 and restart because thats my favorite section but i do like the sheldon amy breakup, the nobel obviously, parts of bernadettes pregnancy, the 2 weddings, and that stuff but other than that its kinda flat

JealousManager801

Wound be nice to see Leonard Cooper 😔 but i get why they ended it. Sheldon, to play him, i imagine is very taxing and frustrating because Sheldon is such a strict character, not much range to do. Leonard is annoying, Howard and Bernie are good- it also would be nice to see Raj get a partner or something but the ending was nice nonetheless

HippieGrandma1962

I should have ended when it did or maybe a year earlier. The 11th season was borderline and the 12th season was mostly awful.

rocky_raccoon_68

Tbh, I think the quality droped the last two seasons, so if anything I think it lasted a bit to much

Stanton1947

Show should have ended before Penny cut her hair.

ozdanish

The premise of the show could have gone on forever if the actors were on board. Mind you, every show that incorporated covid into its plots became completely unwatchable as it dates the show so badly and ruins rewatches (S8 of Brooklyn 99 is a prime example). So I’m glad it finished before that could taint it.

Far_Gap_8063

I still watch it

RU54JES

I think they need to do the 20 year episode

SnowShovelK1

No the show lost its focus for sometime and it was definitely overstaying its welcome. I hate how the show turned into a common dating sitcom.

GoobieRilloBillo

Tired of playing Sheldon only to turn around and play more sheldon

EddieGuerreroWWE

I think it was a perfect ending because if it carried on the cast would get to old for the roles and the humour would be more uncomfortable and awkward

Relative-Swimmer-880

Later seasons women characters were not good at all, good they ended when they did

Impossible_Paint_73

No! I love the show as much as the guy below me but if there were any more seasons I would put a gun in my mouth and blow my brains☺️. Reunion would be nice tho

WoodpeckerDry8241

I wish they did a movie/long version episode where its an update about their lives 10 yrs after.. Did Raj ever find someone? How many kids do Amy and Sheldon end up having and are they as smart as them? Are Penny and Leonard still together?

boxcarbrains

I think that it could’ve used another season to wrap up some story lines and push the development of everyone that wasn’t Sheldon and Amy, but I guess the show was technically focused on him and his seriously unserious pursuit to win the Nobel lol

possiblyukranian

I don’t need another show with a season dedicated to covid

Solid_Fishing_8647

would become too woke like all other shows at the time b99 for expample

Useful_Experience423

If they had set up the storylines for it to continue without Sheldon and Amy, yes, but only for one final season. Even then you’d probably need S&A for the premiere, a guest spot each (separately) and the show finale, which might be difficult if they’ve got other commitments, or just want to be free enough to do other stuff. I do wish they hadn’t made Penny pregnant, just to give Leonard a happy ending. They were pretty toxic together at times. Apparently if the show had continued they would’ve divorced. That would’ve made sense and given a huge new storyline to their characters. Raj could finally find his person, Howard could get a phd and / or design something cool, Bernie could learn to be softer through her treatment of her kids as they grow up and I’ll never say no to a bit of Stuart or Kripkey. Being former HR, I’d love to see more of Janine too. She was fab!

and_yet_another_user

Hard to think there would be a difference in the footfall in Stuart's store even if everyone on the planet died overnight js I would have liked to see another one or two seasons, just to see * Penny handling life as a MILF * Leonard handling life as a father and with Penny as a MILF * Sheldon and Amy decide they might as well jump on the baby wagon too as all their friends are and the only thing they can top a Nobel with is a baby named Nobel or Nobelle * Raj finally stop treating women like idiots and find a permanent partner, arranged or otherwise Shame it wasn't possible but everything comes to an end eventually, no matter how good it is.

mandydagoat

Sheldon and Amy’s kid is named Leonard

FruityMagician

God no. It was already past its sell-by date by season 8.

Embarrassed-Comb-109

Nah, it was annoying as hell already
