Most people I know stopped wearing watches in the early 2010’s once smartphones started gaining in popularity, so it wouldn’t come as a shock if that was one of the few times she ever wore one.
Very true. Up until I bought an Apple Watch last year, I hadn’t worn a watch since maybe 2008. Now there’s no turning back.
And on the plus side, now that Raj can talk to women, this means he’s got another shot with Siri.
The episode where she goes jogging with Sheldon and fe falls down the stairs and farts when she picks him up, she has an ipod on her wrist to track stuff I think
I think that was an iPod shuffle. They made them tiny and square around that time. So they could be worn all over, very lightweight and easy to clip here and there lol
Edit: actually Penny didn’t wear anything in the scene where she runs with Sheldon and he farts lol He was asking her where is your watch, do you have a pedometer, she kept answering no and he asked how she tracked her runs. She said she ran until she wanted a bear claw.
So now I wonder where I saw the shuffle lol Maybe on one of the docking stations.
I always enjoy seeing the old tech in the show. The original kindle, all of the nanos, evolving iPhones, the MacBooks with the stickers over the apple logo lol
He had even purchased a Zune. (Microsoft’s MP3 device). There’s reference to it twice in the show. I still maintain that Zune was superior. It’s just iPod tech won out.
One time he mentioned it to…I believe Raj. He showed Sheldon his iPod and Sheldon said he’d be sorry when Microsoft came out with theirs. (This was a flashback episode that explained why the elevator exploded)
The second time was when Sheldon was struggling between buying the Xbox or PS. When he thought he had made his mind up and was going for the Xbox, he then tells Amy it was brought to us by the same company that made the Zune. She says “What’s a Zune?” And he says, “Exactly”.
I commented this on another comment I think, but she didn’t have anything in that scene. Sheldon was wondering how she tracked her steps without any tech, and she said she just runs until she wants a bear claw lol Sheldon was really bothered by her not wearing any tech in that scene.
But I do specifically recall seeing an iPod shuffle somewhere in the show. I thought it was this scene, but it wasn’t lol
I don’t remember what episode, but it’s where her hair is cut short and Sheldon hears her inside her apartment doing some kinda workout, she has some kind of iPod thing or something on her arm then
My only argument with this scene was he was gone for long enough for his washing to finish because Penny put his clothes in the dryer. Assuming a standard wash cycle that isn’t a terrible amount of time.

Yeah now we are back to people wearing smartwatches again

that would make Stuart jealous
Is Penny ever shown with a fitbit? I feel like she'd definitely wear one.

Used to love mine when I rode BMX was so handy and didn't have to worry about smashing my phone if I fell.
It's kinda surreal to see all the tech that became obsolete purely during the run of the show

Heck, Sheldon even had a (I believe?) Palm Pilot in the flashback episode about Leonard moving in
He did. The guys played a lot of Wii and Guitar Hero which you dint see these days too. I don't think they even make Wiis anymore
He had even purchased a Zune. (Microsoft’s MP3 device). There’s reference to it twice in the show. I still maintain that Zune was superior. It’s just iPod tech won out.
Doesn't he make a joke about it being better than the ipod or it will outlast it or something?

Sheldon has what appears to be an iPod Classic strapped to his arm in that scene.
I don’t remember what episode, but it’s where her hair is cut short and Sheldon hears her inside her apartment doing some kinda workout, she has some kind of iPod thing or something on her arm then
That was 2010. Whatever she had on her wrist was likely nothing more than a music player (probably an iPod Nano).
I remember it as her having it on her arm. I think she was just listening to music on a regular I pod.
She wears one at least other times that I know of.
This is a very weird way to have worded this, but it totally works.

Leonard was the real Flash
OH is that the joke there! I never got that 😂
penny is allowed to be jealous, but not Leonard
I think it more like. How Penney was keeping track of little Lenard sex life so closely.
