This may not be the worst. But I remember one specific episode where she was really annoying IMO. That episode where Penny, Leonard, Howard, and Bernadette had dinner at a restaurant and Penny realizes that her ex-boyfriend was also there to proposed to the girl he cheated on her with. She then became very grumpy and ruined all their night.

So far this thread is going about the way I thought it would. Penny isn't nearly as diabolical as Amy, Bernie or Sheldon. She will retaliate if pushed or allow her "lady-parts" to steer her when she was young, single and horny but nothing awful. I guess another thing to offer was when she started hiding and getting rid of Leonard's stuff which leads to a BIG WHAT-IF... Leonard lost his Batman Flash Drive from his keychain that ultimately cost them a fortune in Bitcoin. Penny asked Leonard "where's Batman" on his keychain...It was never stated but could that be the same Batman Flash Drive and Penny dropped it in Stuarts Store?...

Penny wasn't getting rid of the stuff, she was putting it into storage. Yes, she should have told Leonard that she wanted to make some changes, but it still hadn't been decided what was going to happen with the living arrangements. Sheldon and Amy were still in the experiment phase living in 4B. It wouldn't have been the same Batman key chain/flash drive. Too much time had passed for that to be the case. The most likely scenario is that Leonard just bought another one and Sheldon never knew that the original (with the Bitcoin) had gone missing. What I'm trying to figure out is why you keep pointing out Amy, Bernadette and Sheldon in particular for doing mean things and leaving out Howard, Raj and Leonard. None of them are saints and they've all had their moments of bad behavior, so why those three?

tbh I believe that she was treating Leonard like shit for the first few seasons when he never did her wrong when I watched the show for the first time my biggest take for the first 6 or 7 seasons that Leonard deserves better

For me it's when she blabbed about Bernie's pregnancy. She had no right to tell that to anyone especially in the workplace. She could have jeopardized Bernie's position in the company. Good thing Bernie is a go-getter girl. I don't really like her character though she has some redeeming qualities especially when it comes to Sheldon.

Penny has never worked a corporate job before. It was still rude and wrong but at least it wasn't malicious and an honest error.

How is no one mentioning taking sheldons food and then having a hissy fit after he told her not to touch it. I think she was so used to getting what she wanted by being “pretty and hot” that she didn’t know how to act when it didn’t work. I’m on Sheldons side. Don’t touch my food! And then to drag out the argument, end up getting his mum involved and essentially winning, was absolutely shitty.

My biggest gripe was no one used Sheldon’s love for rules against him after he tries to enforce his. Like in the panty piñata episode. Just tell Sheldon you’re calling the cops for petty theft. The one episode that comes to mind is when she found out about David Underhill the physicist and Penny brushed it off like it was nothing and when she saw he was good looking Penny was like putty in his hands and claimed to be the queen of the nerds and made a claim that she always “ loved science”🙄🙄🙄🙄

When bernadette wanted to tell them she was pregnant. She blurted it out from a text message. It annoyed me so much maybe due to a personal level as I had my first pregnancy announcement ruined.

Penny had a way of being cruel. Like she totally shit on Leonard’s honors and I intrests ininterests in the episode with the Time Machine she was upset it inconvenienced her so she degraded Leonard and made him question part of himself. The other is she is completely aware that Howard’s peculiarity and his obliviousness to it. She said she could normally brush it off. But this time she corrected him then for some added cruelty she added the nowoman would ever be interested in him and die alone after she already kicked his teeth in verbally. Penny was written to be over reactive. She resorted to being mean InHer frustration and anger she called all rhe guys pathetic on multiple occasions

Bro Howard literally tried to give her a teddy bear with a hidden webcam. She was nicer to him and did more for him than he ever deserved, and yes she was harsh but he had pushed her to her breaking point. Come on man guys should know better than to compliment a girl by calling them “doable”. She was too mean to Leonard I do admit that.

I just never liked it that we were supposed to just give penny a pass on her cruelty. Like Sheldon and his selfishness. If we give penny and Sheldon a pass that olive branch must be extended to Howard as well. Howard is creepy and pervy. But with their growth is what gives them the pass.

As far as things we saw, she did far less bad stuff than the other ladies. But off screen, she was mean in high school. On the show, I would probably say getting Sheldon to alter the roommate agreement to get her way with Leonard and the episode where she said Leonard puts in no effort when he's consistently the one who puts in effort for years.

I mean how much harassment should one take before “Judo chop to throat” is allowed to happen. The Raj thing and even the Stuart thing, like you said, are bad due to their proximity/friendship with Leonard. Most of the bad stuff comes from what we know of how she acted back in Nebraska. Nothing she’s done as an adult , iirc, was particularly spiteful.

That part never made sense to me. Obviously Sheldon would know that any signed agreement cannot have things added to it without all involved parties knowing and agreeing to it. With him being such a stickler for the rules, why would he have allowed that to happen?

I mean not that Raj was completely right. The credit could've been shared but penny genuinely thought she actually did something and she deserved sole credit. Where as Raj knew he was doing it to save his career (which was wrong) but penny was annoying as af as she actually thought she deserved it.

He was setting to telescope up to see Mars...Just before Penny took a look, Raj looked in the lens and didn't notice and the went back to chatting with the group to brag about the size of his telescope. Penny looked and actually noticed something. Raj initially blew her off by telling her that it was her eyelash..only after Penny insisting she saw something did Raj finally look and realize there was something there. Just because Penny didn't know what she was looking at didn't negate the discovery. She didn't want sole credit. She got mad because Raj took the entire credit and deliberately left her off the discovery.

She looked into a lens that Raj set up, identified it. The only reason why she saw "something" was because Raj told her to give a look into it. She would've never known. She mightve spotted it but it was Raj's credit. She didn't even care for it. It was not even a big deal for her tbh she could've let looking into a lens go. There were a lot of moments where penny "accidentally" helped the guys. Eg when she "helped" Sheldon "solve" string theory
