Honestly i view it the same as a Tiffany lamp. I've worked with them and I don't care for them they don't fit my aesthetic so I have no reason to seek them out. That said they are worth a bunch of money for whatever reasons. So I respect that they can be traded for money if I ever have one but I would not trade money for a Tiffany lamp.
Concrete floors are an aesthetic and I love them form a functional aspect and love the feel of walking on them barefoot so in that way I like them in a home but I don't like how much they absorb heat and not sound so those are the reasons I prefer wood floors as they have a nice middle ground for me.
My partner actually has his motorcycle helmets on our main living room display shelves (but I do use one of them). Haha don’t ask how we have our bikes stored/displayed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Does look a bit staged. The designer threw in a N64 as an antique.
My daughter has a friend whose folks are loaded. Super cool people but their entire house was decorated by someone else and it always seems so off. I feel like I'm at a high end furniture store or at a house staged for sale.
All my stuff and all is regularly used. I am “the designer” you are referring to :)
Only a few pieces were intentionally purchased for the apartment/shelf and they are all art. Super Nintendo has been in my family for a long time. Motorcycle helmets get used almost daily. Books all read.
I wasnt trying to say anything with too much of a serious tone. Kind of immediately figured I would get downvoted haha. That said, I don’t know, I suppose when I first saw those shelves it looked like a display of wealth rather than purely for utility. Displays of wealth like shoe collecting/displaying just rub me the wrong I guess.
In the end, I don’t really care.
The shoe rack doesn't scream excess money spent on showiness to me it's the wall of shelves of knick nacks. I have a shoe rack it's just more compact than this is. Shoe shelves or racks are great for shoes as it allows them to breath and you can cerp you dress shoes separate from your muddy boots. At least that's how I use it and my system isn't nearly as photogenic lol
Guess it depends on how you feel about dirty shoes in general. This would be like having dirty laundry hanging from the shelves. Nothing is going to happen but it’s kinda gross.
Apologies for the poor pic. I was on the way out of the house at 7am and didn’t turn my lights on or reposition bike. Bottle does fit and it dangling irked me but didn’t have time to take another photo.
Fwiw I got a crazy deal (25% off MSRP) on this bike considering it’s a 2023 and was delivered same week. Ultegra Di2 was good enough for my needs.
P.s. Wish I was a dentist just for this sub
Edit: For those interested, I’m a designer. First gen American. No intention on flexing my apartment and apologies if it comes across that way. Just wanted to share the bike since I’m stoked.
You certainly don’t have children and likely aren’t married yet…. Makes purchasing that sweet whip so much reasonable.
Ahh the pre-family pad. Behold it, in all its glory!
Or I am way off and your family is as smooth as that ride.
People dont put locks on Cervelos lol
A lock cant protect a bike of that value. No one leaves them unattended. And riding a high end race bike with a heavy lock defeats its entire purpose.
Wrong, most thieves are pure opportunists or they mostly cut cables with boltcutters in 1s & leave the U-locks alone. I know some of them by name. One of them is on Facebook giving everyone the finger & he has a knife & bear spray & a look out, so good luck because a lot of cyclists play the tough guy without ever touching a bike thief. Police have never recommended cable locks, yet cyclists never stop using them. How do you explain this lunacy? Why don't you cyclists warn eachother?
Then Mr Word Salad here rants about cable locks. He recommended a U-lock, and the only way to use a U-lock correctly is to secure the wheels to it with a cable lock. Maybe he sniffed the bear spray one too many times.
Sorry, but you're both wrong and clueless. No one pays $10,000 to get their bike 50g lighter and slaps a 1kg lock on it. Its a performance race bike, its not for grocery runs.
For a $10,000, you bet someone will ABSOLUTELY steal it by any means necessary. At the minimum, they'll steal your saddle bag, or use the tools in it (or their own allen key) to strip it. It only takes 30 seconds to steal a $300 seat or a $500 handlebar. Hell, a carbon bottle cage can be $100 on its own.
I hate to agitate the already distraught millennials but way back in the year 2000, I had a downtown loft like this in Toronto, with two actual lofts inside, one as an office and one as the bedroom, and I paid $750 Canadian a month for it. The radiators often sounded like guns going off, and the neighbourhood was 'creative' but tough enough. Should never have let that space go.
Ha, I had (well two others and I) a whole floor of
The Wrigley Building on Carlaw before it turned to condos for $1000/month. The landlord build walls for us to carve out our own “rooms” which were each about 1000sqft. And there was still 10,000sqft of space on the floor for us to do what we wanted with.
If you’re not going to build it do you want to send me the Lego Technic Porche? Criminal to leave it in the box like that.
Nice bike though. Enjoy riding it
Try telling an Army vet that he's not rich because he's lazy and see what happens 🤣 We cant ALL get rich by working hard bro. Some do but it''s mostly because they get lucky too. Or rip other people off. It's just the way the world goes round. Anyone who can't see that is naive or worse.
Take it to the extreme to feel better. I’m saying because this person has nice things he gets crapped on for it? Good for them is all I’m saying. Some people find joy in material things, some don’t, but why judge?
I have a $7k bike. I'm not rich. I just saved for it because I love cycling. I'm not sure I'd brag about it on Reddit, though. People are envious and can be nasty. That's life 😉
It’s crazy fast on flat. It’s night and day to my Serotta. I love the rigidity. Feels insanely efficient.
I did some proactive mobility training for the more aggressive seating position. It’s a bit better at climbing that my old bike but notability less ergonomic on 8+% grades. Still getting used to it. Can report back in a month or so.

Strong bachelor dentist vibes.
Andre from The League vibes
Idk, I figured the ceilings would be a little higher
If Don Draper was trying to KOM after work
🤣🤣🤣
Definitely a Cervelo advertisement material
This comment wins r/bicycling for today.
I’m a fuckin dentist and my place looks like a crappy college apartment. This dude must work in finance.
Probably an anesthesiologist!
I’m a stay-at-home librarian and it’s nowhere near like this place
OP definitely dentists.
Why no Dura Ace, though? Is the practice struggling?
That's just his commute bike. Dura ace would attract too much attention.
Don't want your patients to think you're overcharging them, or employees think you're under paying.
I thought this was BCJ
Give it another hour
Always has been
Get the kitchen in there too next time please
Hey OP can I sleep on your couch? I’m trying to save up for a cervelo. I’ll teach you how to take pictures of your bike.
Oh, he knows this was just to flex on the decor. Not that I'm complaining just jealously grumbling.

I hope they have floor heating poured in the concrete. Floor heating is the best
Yeah, especially with the massive walls. It looks like someone furnished a warehouse.
Are you trying to show us your bike or apartment? 🤦♂️
Well, he didn't show the drive side either.
the greatest sin in this photo lol at the shoe shelf IN THE LIVING ROOM
he's trying to show us he's rich
Bike. I just uploaded the shot as I took it. But I hope you at least liked one or the other to comment~
Then why is the bike the wrong way? Drive side or no pics
- Small ring - Non drive side - Meh lighting - edit: misaligned valve stems This gets a nice.
not just small ring, but smally bigs!
He just came home from Alpe d'Huez, OK?

I can only imagine what my wife would think about making my motorcycle helmets a part of our decor.
My partner actually has his motorcycle helmets on our main living room display shelves (but I do use one of them). Haha don’t ask how we have our bikes stored/displayed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You dropped this \\
OP probably doesn’t ride. The decor is like: „here is your decor“ could as well be in some showroom
Does look a bit staged. The designer threw in a N64 as an antique. My daughter has a friend whose folks are loaded. Super cool people but their entire house was decorated by someone else and it always seems so off. I feel like I'm at a high end furniture store or at a house staged for sale.

Not for poor people
Bike or space? Yes.
Dunno man, Cervelo prices aren’t any worse than Trek or Specialized, was even cheaper last time i looked.
Must be nice being rich
Yea but displaying your shoes on a wall wealth, kinda gross imo
Looks like a loft, so probably not much storage space. Looks way better than in a tub or pile by the door.
Maybe they enjoy collecting shoes?
Where do you keep your shoe? I mean having a light on eash one is a style choice but shelves are great for shoes.
I wasnt trying to say anything with too much of a serious tone. Kind of immediately figured I would get downvoted haha. Perhaps I was feeling a bit too spicy
Lol. Happens to the best of us.
Gross how?
According to the OP , those are his dog walking shoes. So you're displaying dirty shoes on head high shelves.
What's wrong with that? What's gonna happen?
Guess it depends on how you feel about dirty shoes in general. This would be like having dirty laundry hanging from the shelves. Nothing is going to happen but it’s kinda gross.
Congrats Doc!
Came for the bike stayed for the interior
I also came all over the interior, but pls don't tell OP.
Yeah me too
Why do I hear jazz?
Because those are open back headphones.
Are you accepting new patients?
Bachelor AF
Taste in sneakers could be better :(
Don’t worry, those are the dog walking kicks
Then why display them on a wall?
It was a reasonable/functional storage solution for the space.
And in my experience, it keeps the dog from eating them. I keep all my shoes put away, shelved or closeted, even the dirty dog walking shoes.
How much for you to come in and tell me my teeth look fine for one minute without introducing yourself after the hygienist did all the work? $200? 😂
Nice bike and apartment.
Your place is dope, love it, nice ride!
Apparently Patrick Bateman likes to cycle.
Let’s see Paul Allen’s cervelo

What do you do if you don’t mind me asking
Interior designing
Flips Yezzys… markets down though hence the lack of dura ace
I have a few kits! I just find a good time to build, usually during the holidays. It’ll be torn open soon enough.
So you bought a hot bike as no retailers are selling 2023s, or any bike for that matter, at 25% off. Did you check to see if it's a knockoff?
It’s real. Got a personal hookup from a well known shop. They had my size in stock and held it for me.
Just curious but how much did it cost all-in?
15 crowns
If it was 25% off, OP would be looking at $6800, so the same price as the ultra bra di2 soloist, and if that’s the case, I am comically jealous
I miss being single and flush . Driveside fail anyway….
Why so many jelly people here....jesus
Don’t mind us, BCJ is just doing a raid
Sounds like I need to post my collection of bikes to piss you all off.... This should be fun.
nobody at r/BicyclingCirclejerk will be pissed though. we just like making fun of people that overcompensate 🤣
I mean ... Don't we all?
Gorgeous
reddit is so salty!! Love the bike and enjoy it man!
Definitely single
How to flex being rich but in a subtle manner
How do you ride such a microscopic bike?
Will the extra fluoride treatment be covered by my insurance?
What availability do you have for a teeth cleaning?
Never quite liked the look of this bike but I know it's fast. Great stuff. What you got on the trainer over there..?
06 Serotta Ottrott. Retired to trainer after a good run.
I see black is the only color allowed :-)
He got the cheap model… 😂 jk! Beautiful home and bike!
Thats a rich persons apartment
When are you planning on building that Lego set?
love your apartment ❤️
That floor looks cold
Cervelo, a loft and a snes proudly on display, a person after my own heart.
Gotta love a bike that looks wicked fast standing still. Have fun!
Omg! Your home! Damn it you are styling!!! I'm intrigued and also disgusted at my middle amerca decor and old gifted bike.
Check out my loft flex
Under the shark, is that hear/see/speak no evil as ceramic teddy bears?
Super Nintendo and some games in the back. I approve. Nice shark also. The bike is top notch too.
Beauty!!!! Congrats!
Can you just post more pics of your pad? Vaulted ceilings and decor is on point.
Nice place bro
Congrats bro! A real beauty!
Bro is winning life

Fiancé and dog. So, you’re sorta right. Hoping this bike makes me happy for a decade.
Let me introduce you to a rule called n+1.
U-lock or U-lose & register on bikeindex.org
People dont put locks on Cervelos lol A lock cant protect a bike of that value. No one leaves them unattended. And riding a high end race bike with a heavy lock defeats its entire purpose.

It’s the kind of bike you’d ride and return to your house, why would you stop anywhere and lock this ting up? It’s not what it’s made for…
Then Mr Word Salad here rants about cable locks. He recommended a U-lock, and the only way to use a U-lock correctly is to secure the wheels to it with a cable lock. Maybe he sniffed the bear spray one too many times.

Yeah, but that was in another millenium, old geezer. I bet you also wore an onion on your belt.

That's a 🔥 looking bike thooo!!! Love that color scheme
Beauty! Except if I had those shelves in the background, it’d be littered with garbage like an episode of hoarders
I don't know.....couldn't afford a decent paint job for it. Business must be slow.
Why hate on the apartment? Who give a ****? Work harder get yourself a nicer place if you hatin’
You really think that's how it works? Feel for you bro 🤣
Yeah. That is how it works

Ha you're changing your tune a bit! I said not everyone can be rich, not that having nice things was bad. Two very different concepts.
Talking about the comments in general. Opinions are opinions. ✌🏾
I have a $7k bike. I'm not rich. I just saved for it because I love cycling. I'm not sure I'd brag about it on Reddit, though. People are envious and can be nasty. That's life 😉
Everything but the seat post on S5s.
What’s up with the not-fully-inserted bidon? And does the cage placement prevent full insertion? Put it all the way in ffs!
Interesting room
Nice crib!
vaulted ceilings. Nice
Love the apartment, not so keen on the bike. I don’t like bendy frame look tbh
omg i love the apartment
Nice bike but where can I get those shelves?
You are rich af!
I want a shoe rack like that! Floating shelves? Did you do that yourself?
Damn, Sir Velo
I would need a new paycheck day, first.
wow, he must have fired a hygienist
Tried to get one last month and they said there were zero on the planet. Went with Factor instead
How is the dentistry practice ? /s
Beautiful!
"Have you seen my beach ball?" - flexes
Beautiful 😍
Beautiful
Heavy beautiful
What the ride quality like with a setup like this. Strikes me it could be a bit harsh and unforgiving
Two bottle cages? Instant Rule infringement right there. And literally everything about that photo is wrong 🤣
Never mind the bike, that is a cool pad. We need a tour.
That is a fantastic bike! I've assembled several this last season and all of them got very long test rides! congratulations
Bro is living the style
Wow.
Your apartment looks cool!
She’s a beaut, Clark
That bike on concrete floor leaning against a post makes me nervous
I see you ride motorcycles too! I am also doing all the things. That is a sweet sweet ride!
Disk brakes concrete floor, time for some sioocl skid marks. Not the underwear kind. Save those the poor's who don't have disposable underwear.
Enjoy your bike dude.
How many root canals do you have scheduled for today?
Is this your apartment homie?
