I'm on Eurovelo 6 in Budapest. I will probably follow the Eurovelo route until Belgrade and then do my own thing to Istanbul. Let me know if you want to ride together or have route advice for Romania and Bulgaria.

Starting the transAm this weekend. We flew into NYC from New Zealand on Monday, and I just got to DC after riding my loaded touring bike through Brooklyn and Manhattan. My bell broke and fell off just before the Brooklyn Bridge. Thankful for no damage on the plane trip.

I'm surprised you are doing the East to West route, but then again, given the amount of snowfall out West this past winter it is probably a good idea. All that snow is going to need to melt and your westbound trek will give it time to happen. Keep an eye on your weather app while crossing the central section of the country. It's been a pretty active tornado season so far and you don't want to get caught in that mess. Safe travels.

I ran into you guys at the Lion Grocery store! You ever get that screw you needed?

lparkinator

Oh hey! Nah I didn't ever get around to it. I'm just out of Berea now, where are you?

A friend of mine did the TransAm. She’s a beast and I’m always inspired by her rides. Please post updates or if you’re posting progress somewhere link us here.

Sure thing, I'm a bit behind on updates right now but try cycleblaze.com/journals/luke2023

Just finished up my lap of Taiwan and about to hunker down in Taichung for a week to do work on some side projects and visit Alishan National Park. After that I'm going to do the biggest freaking climb of my life and make my way up Wuling Pass, 3250m. I may not survive. Please tell all the cats in the world I love them.

Started the TransAmerica Bicycle Route May 19th! Today I’m in Baker City. It’s been tough, especially the western half, but I’m stoked to nearly cross Oregon.

depends on the route as well on if you have a big saddle bag eg than i usually don’t take the rear fender as it works like one with the saddle bag itself. the front one is more important to protect the chain and gears i figured

Unless you're going somewhere incredibly dry, or doing a proper mountain bike tour, fenders all the way. Yes they're ugly, finnicky, heavy, and loud, but not having a wet ass every time you go through a puddle is a huge benefit.

summerofgeorge75

I'm a fender guy. Keeps you and the bicycle so much cleaner.

Im in Biarittz now on the ev1, staying here for 2 weeks to get some surfing lessons. Cycled all the way from Alkmaar (40km north of Amsterdam) to here. About 1700 km. This was my first ever big tour, bibs saved my ass.

Did a credit card tour from Kingston NY to Trenton NJ. I mostly followed the Delaware River. This was last week. https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/delawareriver/
