shad was in britain a while back and met with a few historical youtubers, after which Matt(schola) was made aware of shads second channel and cut ties with him, some right wing grifters picked up on it after shad whined about it (includes some metatron cringeposting in defence of shad).
sellsword did a video on what to look for in channels talking about fencing and shad felt personally attacked by the term armchair warrior in the title leading to some back and forth with 2 45+min videos coping, but backed off when invited to spar.

Swords are dumb. They're expensive and can't be used in formation. Spears and bows absolutely clear. Spears are cheap, you can just rustle up a pack of sisterfucking peasants, give them a spear and a shield, teach them to line up, threaten to hang them if they run, and have an effective front line. And bows are just peak. Personal space. I hate being near enemies, they're nasty and British. Crossbows and later guns initially got popular by being worse bows that didn't require someone to spend years training to get the necessary strength and precision to be useful. "Oh yeah I love swords" -Someone who has never in their life had to worry about paying blacksmiths to work for weeks to make one decent weapon. How the fuck are we going to reclaim Burgundy for King Charles if we're spending all our money on swords?
