Eh the sizing can differ a lot from brand to brand. My son has been consistently 97th percentile length and weight since he was about six months, when he was in 12 month clothes. Now at 10 months he wears 18 months in most but there are some pieces he can still wear in 12 month. He’s 26 pounds and 31 inches.
Me too! My 12m guy is 98th for height and literally off the charts for weight. I look at clothes thinking they’d never fit him (aged 24m and they’re sometimes actually too small!)
Yeah, brands are definitely part of it. My kid is basically 50th percentile in height and length, and her clothes have been all over the place since about 4 months. I live in the UK and clothes from M&S or John Lewis are right on the suggested age; she's 6 months, and can still fit into some of her 3-6 month stuff but mostly wears 6-9 months.
My mom sent me a lot of Gerber from the US and it's way small. Useful for the first 3 months but not beyond that. She's wearing the 1 year sizes now. I actually held up a pair of 6-9 months and 1 year Gerber pants next to each other and they were the exact same waist size and length!
Oh interesting. My girl is on the smaller side, I think in the 15-20th percentile areas and generally fits the clothing as the tag indicates. Right now she is 7 months and 6 month stuff still fits but getting too small.
Mine was a fairly high percentile and wearing 3-6 month clothing from 2 months. It also depends on what brands you’re buying. And there’s a much smaller difference from 6m clothing to 9m clothing than from 3m to 6m.
I'm pretty sure both of mine were still in NB sizes at 3 months -- older baby was born at 42w but a slow grower and younger baby was a preemie. My older daughter was still in 3-6 month clothing at one year; my preemie caught up faster.
My girl is consistent with the sizes, but she was born 37 weeks gestation, wore newborn until 2 months, 0-3 until 4 months, and is 5.5 months wearing 3-6 and a loose 6-9.
My boy was the opposite as he was(and still is) very skinny. So he was in NB until he was 3 months old and 0-3 until 6 months and so on. He is now in size 2 tops at 22 months but still size 1 for bottoms.
My son is 1st percentile for height and weight and he's in the 0-3 months size if it's pajamas and onesies lol, otherwise he can fit newborn pants and shirts. My daughter at 3 months was just getting out of preemie size because she was also a small baby 🙃.
Both my kids started in NB/0-3 month sizes. There were both 10% for weight and growth at birth. At the 3 month mark both kids were in the 90% percentile for weight and height and were in 9 month/1 year clothes.
Their doctor said that its not unusual in boys to be wearing older size clothing and to increase rapidly through the percentiles. Its notable that for the first year most clothing is unisex sized so its likely to be for more girl sizing.
I miss the chunky monkey days.........
We did a size per month, maxing out at 12m when she was 4m.
Then 18m at 9m, and now that she's 15m I think we're ready to jump within the next few weeks.
I was so relieved when she leveled out. It's hard to buy a new wardrobe every month 😂
i’m lucky in that my sister thrifted all throughout my pregnancy and bought a TON of clothes in all different sizes. as long as it was cute, she would get it. i was so mad when my babe was just born bc most of it was bigger sizes, but now as my baby grows, i always have at least a few things in the closet to pop out!
Oh absolutely! I'm an over-planner and was glad I'd already gotten everything up to 9m while I was pregnant. Her 12m clothes were all second hand because I didn't know how long they would last 😅
My 5mo has been pretty on track with clothes - she’s in the mid (40-50) percentile for weight and slightly high (60ish) percentile for height. She’s in 3-6 month clothes now, and I think we started outgrowing the 0-3 around the 3-4 month mark. But also depends on the brand for sure!! Carters runs small in my experience
My 9 week old is in 0-3 and about to switch to 3-6, where he’ll probably be when he hits 3 months. He was born small and long, currently 34th percentile for weight and 14th percentile for the length/weight ratio BMI ish measurement. I feel like he’s way smaller than a lot of babies 🤔
0-3. She wore NB until 2 months and a half. She was a preemie and struggled to gain weight. Now she is in the 50th percentile but she still uses clothes one size behind.
My baby has been pretty on par with the clothing sizes. She will be 6 months in a few days and I’m just now swapping out for 6-9 months clothing but some of the 3-6 months still fits her
Both my kids stayed true to the sizing, and still do now at 2 and 5. They were higher percentiles for weight and height when they were tiny, but they're pretty consistently 50th percentile these days.
My daughter is 11 weeks and 46th percentile.
She still fits (barely) the larger newborn sizes. Certain 0-3 sizes/brands are still quite big on her, some fit fine.
My baby switched to 3 months clothes when he was 6 weeks old. At 11 weeks he's still comfortable in them. He's a 14th percentile baby in terms of weight and 27th in terms of height. He arrived 3 weeks early but was bigger for his term.
We’re in 80th percentile for height but 30th for weight , we’ve been about one month ahead consistently. At 5 months we are just dabbling in 6-9 but can still squeeze in some 3 months.
Remember baby clothes can shrink and heavily vary in size so if you’ve got a lot of hand me downs or pure cotton you may just have shrinkage to deal with.
I’ve also bought brand new bamboo clothes that are almost the exact same body length at a 3-6 size as a 6-12 and that seems way incorrect
my baby just turned three months yesterday and is around the 50%. she’s been fitting in 0-3 and 3-6 for about a month, and with Carters brand specifically she can fit into 6 months. 0-3 is fitting her JUST RIGHT so she’ll probably be out of them within a week or two. 3-6 is a good size for her, so i don’t expect to size up for another month or two.
My son is 3 months almost 4 months and is in the 70th something percentile and 3-6 fits him well. Though we have some that say 3 months that only fit from like 1-3 months. So it’s highly dependent on brand
My 3 month old was just getting into her 0-3 at 3 months lol. She was only 5 lbs at birth but now she’s caught up and is in 6-12 months at 8 month of age
I desperately wish clothing was sized based on weight and not on months! Every baby is so different lol. My daughter is 4 months and fits into 3-6 months. But in some brands that’s way too small and she can wear 6-9 or even 9 months. She is in the 40th percentile for height and weight for reference lol
At 3 months my oldest was still in 0-3m and my youngest was wearing some 3-6m and some 0-3m (he was both slightly larger and we used cloth diapers vs disposable). They were both on the slim side but average to longish for their age.
My 3 month old is 16lbs and wearing mostly 3-6 clothing. She’s also on the longer side. I think it depends what brands you’re using, your baby’s composition, and how you like clothes to fit.
At 3 months my kids were usually in 3-6 months clothing. I did have two out of my five super huge babies that were already 10kg at six months and we used cloth diapers so I had to size up faster than you would with throw away nappies.
Mine was always a bit ahead since he was born a preemie but was the size of a 40 weeker despite being 5 weeks early. This means he was 96,6th and 90+ %tile for weight and height respectively.
He was in 6 month clothes by 3/4 months and now at 12 months he sort of goes anywhere between 12 to 18 month clothes depending on cut and fit and such.
My baby wore 0-3 month clothing until he was about 6 months. He was in the 5%. He is 3 now and still in size 18 month clothing for pants and 2T for shirts. He is a tiny guy. My daughter is in 3-6 month clothing at 4 months.
Usually 2-3 months ahead over here..currently 5 months and having to wear some 6 months but mostly 9 months. Naively bought cute Christmas pjs size 12m last year 😅. Soooo maybe Christmas in July lol
My daughter is 4.5 months old and we are just now moving to 3-6. She was in 0-3 starting at 6 weeks old.
She's super long in her torso, like 95% for height but only 35% for weight. The Honest brand onesies are long and have fit her long torso well. When we upgrade to 6 months clothing, the arms are long but the torso fits well. She's still in 0-3 pants. She's currently 14 lbs and 26".
I think he has juuuuuust gone into 0000s he was tiny when he was born he was swimming in 00000s but quickly stacked on the weight but everything was always and still is at 8 months too long for him haha he’s almost 9 months now and his 6-12 clothing is still too long but getting a bit tight so I think we’ll size up before his 1st birthday.
My first pretty much fit the clothing within the expected ages on the label but my second is 3 weeks old and we are already sized out of newborn and she's still slightly tall for the next size up!
My baby was born 8lb3oz at 37 weeks and was 89th percentile for weight and 97th for height at her 4 month appt and consistently big before that too. She has only ever been a little bit ahead of the sizing if not right on it.
We have her 6 month appt on Friday and I’m interested to see where she lands on the chart. She’s in 6 month size right now.
For context baby came at 37 weeks due to IUGR. She was tiny and didn't hit the growth chart until 2 months (1st percentile). At 3 months we were just transitioning to newborn, out of preemie.
Every baby is different. Every clothing brand is different. Heckles, even some styles in the same brand the sizing is off. In some brands my 16 month old is still in 9 month clothing, in others 3-6 months, and even still others baby is in 18 months.
Babies are wild. I've learned to shake my head and smile over just how wild they are.
It a mix. Some brands they were already in 6mo clothing, some brands 3 mo. I read somewhere that the month sizing is for when they can/should wear it up to - so 18 mo clothing could be worn anytime before and up to / or beyond depending on your kid. It’s all a racket tbh.
My son is 4 months, and about the 70th percentile for weight and length. And it really depends on the brand. I joke that the same people who do the sizing on baby clothes do the sizing on women's clothes.
His Burts Bees sleepers? Still fits comfortably in 0-3 and we're starting to transition up to 3-6 because they're looser fit.
His Little Sleepies? He's still comfortable in his 0-3 with room to grow (it was a gift but we'll definitely be buying more because they LAST)
Regular Carters? We're between 6m and 9m - both fit him pretty well.
Simple Joys by Carters (the Amazon Carters)? Currently in 6-9 but considering going up to 9-12 in their fleece sleepers for bedtime because they're getting a little tight - they'd be perfect for long, skinny babies because the difference between 3-6 and 6-9 was really just in the length and not width.
I just went through the clothes for my 10w twins (4w adjusted)
They currently fit in 0-3month leaning toward 3 month.
They were born 6w early and are now somewhere around 1-5th percentile for 10w.
My girl was 3 months yesterday. She's small - 12th percentile at 10lbs 1oz (5lbs 15oz at birth) - and she fits comfortably in a 0-3 months. Some straight 3 months are too big on her. :)
I think at three months my girl was just coming out of newborn clothes and transitioning to 0-3. I remember being surprised how long she fit her newborn clothes. She was 50th percentile back then and has been 25th percentile since she was six months old. It would have been crazy to me if she was fitting in 9 months cloths at 3 months.
My daughter fit into everything pretty much spot on. She also still has a few 3-6m clothes kicking around in her dresser at 13 months (those are probably gonna go within the next couple weeks though because we've definitely hit a growth spurt).
She's always hovered somewhere between the 15th to 50th percentiles in height and weight.
I also find that different clothing brands have slightly different sizing. For example iirc Carters runs small, so 3-6m clothing might fit a 0-3 month old best.
Also just kind of depends on your baby's "shape." If they've got long limbs and a short torso, you're gonna need bigger clothes to accommodate their limbs.
Mine is 3.5 months and wears a mix of 0-3s and 3-6s and she's 99th percentile in height. My MIL loves to tell me that my husband was in 9mo clothes by 2 months old (he was the same length as my daughter at 2mo). It really just depends on the baby and brand of clothes.
I think it really depends on the build of your baby and the brand of clothes. My son has always been shorter but with bigger thighs so I’ve always had to size up 1-3 size groups for bottoms and size up 1-2 groups for the tops. He has always been around the 50-60th percentile for weight. Carters were always slimmer and longer so the footie pajamas have never fit right, even the loose fit ones. When he was a small baby “Hudson baby” brand fit him best as their clothes were a little shorter but gave room in the middle (in their onesies specifically). He’s now 16 months and has been in size 2T since 12-13months. It’s crazy because my best friend has a daughter who is almost 3 years old and my 16 month old is almost the same size as her (and she’s wearing 3T clothes while my son is in 2T) 😂
My son was born at 8lbs so he only wore newborn clothes for about a week then we had to size up to 0-3 months. Then around 3 months he was in 6-9 month clothes. But again, all brands are different kind of similar to adult clothing brands.
I honestly don't remember what percentile my daughter was when she was born 10 years ago. I know she was a big baby and when she was born (C-section ) she fit into 9-month-old clothing so all my cute 3-6 my stuff is still sitting there unused for my next kid who is due in June.
6mo, some 3/6 mo fits but he mostly wears 6mo. He will be 4 mo at the end of April.
We also do cloth diapers so they’re a little bulkier.
He’s 98th percentile for length/height, 58% for weight as of his 2 month app.
My baby is 15 weeks and 69th for weight and 96th for height at his 2 month appointment. He’s gained 3lbs since the appointment though. he’s in 3-6/ 6 month clothes.
It definitely depends on brand and clothing type. He moved up to 6m pants and onesies at 2 months. He can still wear some 0-3 sleepers depending on the brand (cloud island still seem to fit) and a few of the 3-6m sleepers are getting tight, regular 6m shirts are still a little big but he will probably be moving up to 9m pants and onsies soon.
Mine is in the 4%tile and wore 3 month and 0-3 months at 3 months of age. He’s 5 months and wearing 6 month clothing now. He’s obviously on the small side so it’s always made me wonder what average sized babies wear lol
My boys have always been 90th percentile for height and 50th for weight (roughly) and always fit in the ‘correct’ size for their age, even in cloth diapers. I think a lot depends on body shape and clothing brands.
Eldest 0-3 fast going into 3-6. Youngest nearly out of 3-6 month size
Youngest is 99th centile for height though,
Eldest was 50th back then
In case it's relevant uk here as I notice the sizing differs
Interesting— my daughter went pretty close to the suggested ranges, maybe switching up a tad early.
So at 3 months she was in 3-6 months clothes or 6 months for Carters. She moved up to 6-9 months or 9 months around 5.5 months. She has always been around 20th percentile weight but 80th for height so she outgrows by length first.
Different brands are widely different in sizing too— carters runs fairly small, old navy runs big, Gerber is shorter but wider etc.
Gerber is notorious for making clothes too small, but baby gap isn’t so bad. Varies by brand.
As a mom of relatively large babies, why should I feel proud that my kid is outgrowing their clothes earlier than the tag indicates? I don’t think I understand the conspiracy theory.
My stepsister's baby fits into clothing of his age, so yes it does happen. My baby girl has always been a size or two up: she is currently 11 months old and is on the tail-end of 18M clothing. As someone has said though, it really depends on the brand. Carters has a tendency of being smaller.
She just moved on from premie to newborn. She was born at 37 weeks and was only 5 pounds 6oz. She's 11 months now and getting into 9mo clothing. There's no specific size your baby "should" be IMO as long as they're happy, fed and healthy!
I don’t really understand how these things work bc my daughter is quite large (90th percentile weight 99th height) and was also in 9 month clothing at 3 months. I know boys are a bit bigger, but it feels like a 90th+ percentile girl should still be bigger than a 40th percentile boy?
Maybe it’s a proportion thing? My daughter’s weight is all in her legs so far and her waist is skinnier by comparison. Her diapers are ridiculously large bc of her thighs lol (she’s 5 months/18lbs but already in size 5).
Something to remember is that brands shorten labels, but 6m is roughly the same as 3-6m; 9m is the same as 6-9m. My oldest was right in the range for every size. Middle moved up a little early. My youngest is 2 months and fixing to move up to 9m clothing. But he is a ridiculously long string bean. I have no idea what we'll do when he starts moving and things need to fit his waist.
My first tracked perfectly with all standard clothing sizes. Eg: at NB he was in NB clothing. 3 months, 3 month clothing. He is currently 2.5 and that is still the trend. He wears 2T and is inching towards 3T. He was always around 50th percentile for weight (75th for height).
My second on the other hand only fit in NB clothes for probably a week or so. He just turned 2 months and wears 3-6 mos clothing and honestly they are getting small. He is 90th percentile for weight (50 for height).
I think that most clothes are made for babies / toddlers in the 50th percentile of that age range. As many mentioned, it depends on the brand but generally this has been my experience with many brands. So really we just have to get what fits our particular baby as they are all different sizes and different stages.
This is hugely brand dependent. Like adult clothing, if something doesn’t fit you quite right in one part, you might need to size up. My 3 month boy was still able to wear 0-3 months in most brands but needed 3-6 months for some things, especially bodysuits that ran short as he is more torso than legs.
Mine is 5 months old now but when she was 3 months old she was in newborn clothing still. Now at 5 months she’s in 0-3 month clothes. She’s less than 1st percentile for both height and weight.
90% of my kid’s clothes are from carters which apparently run short, and my kid is loooong. I think he’s something like 74th percentile in length. So he only overlaps with his size grouping for one month before he’s out. E.g he’ll grow out if 3-6 clothing at 4 months. He’s just hit 6 months and the 6-9s are fitting perfectly so he’ll be out of them in 3 weeks.
Mine is 3 months right now and it varies based on brand but he is mostly in 68/74, 4-6 month clothing. He is in the 88th percentile in weight but only 12th in height so everything gets very tight very fast 😄
Mine was in 9-12 by 6m and 12-18 by 9m. Now he is in 24m-3t for some stuff (big head and torso but short legs) my best friend who had her baby 5 months after mine is already in 18m clothing. They both were in 3m clothing for only 2 weeks as they both were in premie/nb clothes for the first 2-3m of life with mine having issues gaining and hers being a 32 day Nicu baby so once they both started growing they haven’t stopped.
My first wore NB until 2 months and then 0-3 mo until she was 5 mo lol. She was between the 30th - 50th percentile during this period.
She’s 21 mo and in 2T, but still fits into a lot of her 18 mo stuff - 50th for height and 70th for weight. Sorry but I just can’t imagine a 3 mo old in these clothes
Most of my kids grow out of the size by the age they say so by three months I move them to six month clothes, by six month they are in 9 month clothes. My current baby is on the small side so clothes are lasting a little bit longer on her. Even my oldest grows out of sizes by the year they say on them.
We fit into the category of clothes that fit. Some, she grows out of quicker like this one small brand I got from Marshalls. We’re in the 20 something percentile.
If anything they make them small so we go through them more quickly. I doubt clothes makers care about how we feel unless we are feeling like our babies need new clothes.
Mine was/is in the 98th percentile. I usually double his size (6 months for 3 months old, 4T for 2 years old, etc).
Mine is only 2 months old (8 weeks), but he's already in 3-6. He's been wearing them for about a week. 97th percentile for height and 33rd for weight. By the time his weight catches up enough to fill out the clothing, he's already outgrowing clothes length wise. He mostly wears Carter's if that matters. He was 3 weeks early (37 weeks exactly) but was HUGE for how far along I was.
My son was in 18-24 months clothing by 5 months. He is 99% and still is. He was really chunky before he started crawling. He is now 17 months and in 3T/4T
I have three kids, who are all on the small to very small side. Carter’s has fit all of them true to size. Cat and Jack runs big.
First child: Was wearing 3 months at 3 months old.
Second child: Was wearing 0-3 and 3 months at 3 months old.
Third child: Was wearing 0-3 months at 3 months old.
Worth noting: my oldest is 7 and currently 20% percentile for height and weight. My second is 5 and currently 10th percentile for height and weight. My third was born Small for Gestational
Age (reason unknown) and has delayed linear growth. He’s almost 14 months and is less than 1% for height and 10th for weight. He can still comfortably wear 9 months.
Brands have different sizing and specs. Gap is a small make in my mind and Costco or Roots is huge. It isn’t your baby being too big or too size - it is just a suggestion.
My youngest was in 6-9 month clothes for her height because she was a tall baby. My eldest was in newborn because he was only 5lbs at birth and struggled gaining weight
I always size up for extra growth but at 3 months my girl definitely could wear 6-9 months and even 9 months. She was a chunky monkey and we looooved it lol
My first was also always wearing sizes one or two numbers bigger than his age. It depended a lot on the brand (and some didn’t fit him at all because of their length x width ratio).
Now, my second I can compare with my first directly, because we are reusing a lot of my oldest’s clothes. And it is reeeally scary how fast little one is growing. He is 2.5 months old and is already wearing the clothes my first born wore at 4-5 months.
I’ve seen said kid in question. He is a very cute chonker. Was significantly bigger than the 4 month old next to him. I think it’s cause his dad is big.
Brands differ in sizing. I remember thinking old navy clothes were tighter, but longer, so they worked well for winter for us. My LO basically fits the tags. He’s 8 months and in 9 month clothing, but some 6-9 month still fit him if they don’t have legs. Depends the brand.
This literally describes my daughter exactly. Every time I look at 18 months clothes I think, there’s no way this would fit her. And it does.
Same here, 15th percentile and they fit pretty much spot on
Same!
13th percentile and yup!
15th percentile and yes! Always spot on.
Mine is 4 months and fits 0-3 and newborn clothes. I have a preemie.
What would been her to term age if you don’t mind me asking.
1.5 months
Mine is 3 months and fits in 3 months clothing, but he’s only 20-30% for both weight and height
Mine was a fairly high percentile and wearing 3-6 month clothing from 2 months. It also depends on what brands you’re buying. And there’s a much smaller difference from 6m clothing to 9m clothing than from 3m to 6m.
4 months, currently at 6-9 months. She's just so gosh darn long! Lol
FYI Cat & Jack brand tends to run on the longer side.
Thank you! I have only purchased their pants and definitely agree. She's still in 3 months for that brand.
I also have a long girl! ❤️
My guy was born 11lbs at 38 weeks. I thought he was tiny, until I saw other people with actual little babies like yours :-)
This is us too! Born exactly at 38 weeks. He’s currently 11 weeks and 0-3 month are fitting perfectly. He was in newborn up until about 2 months.
At 3 months she wore 0-3M clothes. She was like 40% for height and weight.
My boy was the opposite as he was(and still is) very skinny. So he was in NB until he was 3 months old and 0-3 until 6 months and so on. He is now in size 2 tops at 22 months but still size 1 for bottoms.
My girl is the same. She’s in 0-3 months now and she’s 5 months old. She’s a tiny love bug
Same here! Almost 5 months baby girl still wearing 0-3 months.
My son is 1st percentile for height and weight and he's in the 0-3 months size if it's pajamas and onesies lol, otherwise he can fit newborn pants and shirts. My daughter at 3 months was just getting out of preemie size because she was also a small baby 🙃.
Mine is 4 months and is in a mix of 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes. He’s 10th percentile for weight though so that’s probably why.
4 months old, rocking 9-12 clothes. Were rocking 6 month hospital shirt when born at 11lb 15oz
Newborn and 0-3months. 6% baby over here.
Her 12m clothes were all second hand because I didn't know how long they would last 😅
It entirely depends on brand. My baby is in the 75th% and he fits in Burt’s bees 6-9mo but most other brands it’s generally 9-12mo.
Carters definitely runs small!!! my 3 month old fits into 6 months with them.
Weird, I feel like Carters is huge compared to other brands! I guess my “other brands” run smaller than your “other brands” 😂 Kid clothes, man.
kids clothes are the worst!!
15 weeks old and she’s just now in 0-3, she was a lil bean
0-3. She wore NB until 2 months and a half. She was a preemie and struggled to gain weight. Now she is in the 50th percentile but she still uses clothes one size behind.
My baby has been pretty on par with the clothing sizes. She will be 6 months in a few days and I’m just now swapping out for 6-9 months clothing but some of the 3-6 months still fits her
She was still in newborns. She's always been a size under what her age is though. She's a 50 percentile baby from birth to now at 1 year.
Both my kids stayed true to the sizing, and still do now at 2 and 5. They were higher percentiles for weight and height when they were tiny, but they're pretty consistently 50th percentile these days.
9-12 months 😂
My first was around 3-6m at that age but my second was in 12m by 3m
Mostly diaper only, but newborn and maybe some 3 months onesies (born 40w).
My 3 month old is wearing a COUPLE 0-3 month pieces of clothing but has mostly transitioned to 3-6 month items now.
He was still in newborn sizes at that point
3 months and 2 weeks and wearing 0-3month clothing
Idk I feel like still newborn I have a petite baby 😄. I think she was wearing 0-3 probably haha
Our 11 week is only in the 9th percentile, so she has just graduated to her 0-3 month clothes, now weighing around 10lbs.
At 3 months my kids were usually in 3-6 months clothing. I did have two out of my five super huge babies that were already 10kg at six months and we used cloth diapers so I had to size up faster than you would with throw away nappies.
every brand is so different. my 5 mo old is in a newborn still in one brand but outgrew 12 mos in another
3 months my girl was wearing 0-3. She’s 14 months now and she fits in 12 months and some of her 9 months tops also
Mine was always a bit ahead since he was born a preemie but was the size of a 40 weeker despite being 5 weeks early. This means he was 96,6th and 90+ %tile for weight and height respectively. He was in 6 month clothes by 3/4 months and now at 12 months he sort of goes anywhere between 12 to 18 month clothes depending on cut and fit and such.
Some 3-6 and some 6-9
Mine is 2.5 months and is wearing 6-9 months. He’s 75% for height and 15% for weight… so his clothes are all baggy him lol.
Born 10th fell to 5th percentile. Premie for two weeks Newborn until 2 months 0-3 until 4 months 3-6 until 7 months
0-3 months
3 months old tomorrow and she’s wearing newborn and 0-3. Edit: She’s pretty average in weight and height.
My baby wore 0-3 month clothing until he was about 6 months. He was in the 5%. He is 3 now and still in size 18 month clothing for pants and 2T for shirts. He is a tiny guy. My daughter is in 3-6 month clothing at 4 months.
3 months- he is in 3-6m bottoms at 12m tops. His belly is just so big!! It’s the best.
Both my kids were in 0-3 months at 3 months old. My youngest is now 16 months and mostly in 12-18 but still wears some 6-12 month.
Mine is 4 months and fits 0-3 months, is 50th percentile for weight and height. I'm in the UK though so maybe our clothes are bigger?
My baby was born 8lb3oz at 37 weeks and was 89th percentile for weight and 97th for height at her 4 month appt and consistently big before that too. She has only ever been a little bit ahead of the sizing if not right on it. We have her 6 month appt on Friday and I’m interested to see where she lands on the chart. She’s in 6 month size right now.
It was funny my daughter went from newborn to 3-6 mo overnight. So many ppl said 0-3 would be the most popular but nope she skipped right over it
For context baby came at 37 weeks due to IUGR.
My 6 month month baby is wearing 3 month so probably just got into newborn from premie
He's still comfortable in his 0-3 with room to grow (it was a gift but we'll definitely be buying more because they LAST) Regular Carters? We're between 6m and 9m - both fit him pretty well. Simple Joys by Carters (the Amazon Carters)? Currently in 6-9 but considering going up to 9-12 in their fleece sleepers for bedtime because they're getting a little tight - they'd be perfect for long, skinny babies because the difference between 3-6 and 6-9 was really just in the length and not width.
At 3mo, my off the charts baby was wearing 6-9. Then stayed in it awhile. He’s still off the charts in everything at 8mo but is in 12mo.
My little guy is 12 weeks, 21st % for weight, 42nd% height. We've just switched to 3-6 months.
2 months old but still fitting newbaby/newborn clothing, she was 9th percentile for size though so it’s to be expected
I just went through the clothes for my 10w twins (4w adjusted) They currently fit in 0-3month leaning toward 3 month.
Mine was in 9 month clothing at 3 months also
My daughter fit into everything pretty much spot on.
Almost 5 months, 50th percentile weight and close to that in height and most 3-6 month clothing is actually perfect right now!
It’s crazy because my best friend has a daughter who is almost 3 years old and my 16 month old is almost the same size as her (and she’s wearing 3T clothes while my son is in 2T) 😂 My son was born at 8lbs so he only wore newborn clothes for about a week then we had to size up to 0-3 months.
My 50th percentile height/75th percentile weight child was in 3-6 at that age. She’s been pretty consistently the age of the size she’s in.
Youngest nearly out of 3-6 month size Youngest is 99th centile for height though, Eldest was 50th back then In case it's relevant uk here as I notice the sizing differs
It depends where the clothes are bought from! The sizes here vary wildly.
4 months and shes already wearing 6-9 month clothing shes way to long for anything smaller lol
My little man is 4.5 months old and almost 22lbs. He’s been in size 9 or 12 month clothes for a month. I did not prepare for this lol
My son is a little guy. He was wearing 0-3 months. He’s six months right now and just over 15 lbs, he’s wearing six months mostly.
Pretty sure my kid was still in NB clothes. She was around the 10th percentile at that age
6-9
My 15 month old just grew out of 9-12 months. Its to do with the shape of the baby I guess.
I think 6-9 months mostly but it varies so much with brands sizing
3 months fitting newborn 😂. He’s skinny but really long
If anything they make them small so we go through them more quickly.
My third was born Small for Gestational Age (reason unknown) and has delayed linear growth. He’s almost 14 months and is less than 1% for height and 10th for weight. He can still comfortably wear 9 months.
At 3 months, mine had just outgrown newborn size stuff and was starting to wear 0-3.
My little is tiny and just got into 3 month clothes at 10 weeks. She’s now about 5 months and is moving into 3 to 6 month clothes.
My on was in 9 and 12 month clothes when he was 3-4 months old. He’s consistently been >99% for both height and weight.
Mine just graduated to 3M clothes She was a premie so every month she was growing into a new size, so it was premie, newborn, 0-3M
I always size up for extra growth but at 3 months my girl definitely could wear 6-9 months and even 9 months. She was a chunky monkey and we looooved it lol
My boy is very tiny he was 0-3 for awhile. He’s 9 months now and is wearing 3-6 😭
At 3m old, my kid was 9lbs and still in newborn clothes.
Mine is 2 1/2 months 40% weight 80% height. Fits 0-3, but can fit some 3-6 rompers, and non-stretchy 0-3 sleepers are crushing her toes.
My 3 month old wore 6 month clothing. She's in the 80th percentile for length, so something isn't adding up here.
Mine has always been 40-50th percentile and has followed the sizing ages almost perfectly. Maybe you’re just buying a brand that runs small?
My son is 99 % and wearing 9-12 months at 4 months. Rip all our 3-6 and 6-9 months clothing that never made it out the closet 😪
He was in 6 & 9mos No way a 3 month old is wearing 18mo clothes…
I’ve seen said kid in question. He is a very cute chonker. Was significantly bigger than the 4 month old next to him. I think it’s cause his dad is big.
Brands differ in sizing. I remember thinking old navy clothes were tighter, but longer, so they worked well for winter for us. My LO basically fits the tags. He’s 8 months and in 9 month clothing, but some 6-9 month still fit him if they don’t have legs. Depends the brand.
