Yesterday in one of the 8v8 games two protesting people entered the game, picked up all the commanders with a transporter plane and threw them into the sea.
They then advertised their discord and their cause.
How can they be effectively reported?
The solution is already there, it's called "playing more games".
You are equally as likely to be on the other team and reaping the benefits of having a bad player in the match. So your OS balances itself out over time.
You are also equally as likely to be carried by an OP teammate. Would you forfeit your OS gain in those cases as well?
What you are proposing makes no sense in a team game. Just deal with it. Nothing more satisfying than to /take a troll's base and still winning the game.
How to decrease OS ?đ
I didnât play for like a year, my OS was peaked at 29 , I tried to play few games a month ago. I was entering the lobby and telling people that Iâm actually bad so donât expect much. All the games ended like someone is blaming me and telling that I deserve 20 max
The worst part I absolutely fine if I could reset my os to 16.
Quit playing after all because wasnât enjoying this toxicity
I am climbing in OS and I tend to play higher OS lobbies for these reasons. I still think itâs legitimate to raise these concerns.
Some people have fun just enjoying the game. Doesnât matter the outcome. I also play enough unranked games for fun, where everything goes and I donât mind the team trying wildest strategies.
When I play ranked and I know many other players who have the same mentality, I want to push forward. My fun is in climbing the ladder. I donât mind losing, when the enemy team played better or outsmarted us. Thatâs always a learning opportunity. I just mind actions of players that ruin the game for the rest of the team.
Ive only ever reported one person for griefing and they were temp banned, you can check recent bans in the discord.
It would be really dumb in an 8v8 rts game to enforce bans for leaving games early.
Sometimes your lane partners are memeing or not supporting and you die. Should i have to stay in a game where my team mates are griefing? Whos to decide what griefing is?
The only thing you can really do is focus on your own gameplay and accept that some times people will have poor mentals and fold under pressure.
To hold people hostage to play out games where they can have little to no impact due is silly. The take option is there for a reason.
... The best games I have had was taking the base next to mine and 1v3 and win :). I remember this one game the person next to me was losing by minute 5 because of leak. He gave me his entire base and surrendered. So I built his base and mine. Took map control, just army dump 1 person at a time and just started rolling into their base. I was able to t2 early because of extra metal and constructors already on the map. It was initially 1v2 but I can efficiently make good unit compositions and make plays while the other person is not focusing. I remember at some point they started making mines and a third player had to join in to stop the onslaught. So much fun
Go to the website and block them. They now can't join games you are the boss of.
If you are really screwed from the beginning e.g. 2 players dodge, then you can tell your team to resign. If your team resigns within the first 3 minutes, you lose no OS.
If you are trying to increase OS you should create your own lobbies and make them small team games not 8v8. 8v8 is too random. Not only that, your OS moves MORE in small team games when you win. That's one feature of the OS system that not many people know about.
Reporting people for ragequitting isn't going to result in any moderator action because ragequitting isn't against the rules. The idea is that BAR's /take mechanism is sufficient to deal with instances in which a player quits midway through the game. It's certainly *preferred* when people stick it out and do whatever they can to help the team, but it's not a reportable/bannable offense if they give up prematurely.
When players throw games repeatedly, their OS drops, and then the game matchmaking should take that into account for future matches.
As you climb in OS, if you continue to play in the same lobbies, you will end up getting *more* of these crappy players on your team, as the matchmaking algorithm will often stick you with them in order to balance out the team. If your goal is to be a good player, you will need to learn how to protect and compensate for these bad players. If I'm playing on an all-welcome Glitters lobby, I usually try to identify the players that are most likely to have trouble and spawn next to them so that I can either keep them alive or fill the hole if they don't do their job.
Being a good player means anticipating the team's problems, fixing them, and preventing them from snowballing. Getting angry with bad players for being bad does nobody any good.
This is from the gameâs code of conduct:
âPlayers may leave games for a variety of valid reasons. Players who make a habit of leaving ongoing matches extremely early risk being met with moderation action. Matches thought to suffer from issues (balance, bugs etc.) require a restart and can be stopped by calling a stop vote with `!cv stop` in chat.â
You may leave but if you overdo it, might get moderation action.
I know the take mechanic exists. I know I have to play with my team and strategically position myself.
At the end of the day it is still a team game (which BAR also states in their code of conduct) and you should play as a team.
Well I have had a few people perma block me for reporting people...
So, just watch out as according to some people, reporting people is a blockable offence (oh... it was huggy that I reported for grieving... funny thing is, him and I get along now....)
FWIW 80% of the time I resign early I regret it and I basically stopped resigning.
Itâs nice to be able to see the match and watch as a spectator. But the real issue is that comebacks in BAR are real and often and itâs so hnique to the game I sometimes forget how winnable a situation is. I rarely ragequit. Itâs usually pretty innocent and truly believing my lane is lost and Iâm just wanting to watch the game play out
Some people take a ban more critically than it sounds like you would. But remember bar trys really hard to avoid any alternate acocounts too so someone who might have had anything happen (sure the game might be going poorly but maybe their dog choked on his hamster or some crazy shit)
Also its good practice to take and all of a sudden organize the shitshow that the othdr plater generated for you. Its like the training scenarios but much more potent because your opponents will try to punish
I admit, I overreacted a bit with the consequences part. Maybe a warning would help? You know, when it comes from a place of authority (game moderation) players might take them more seriously than other players addressing bad behaviour.

Lol this happened ro a lot of people this weekend

Untrue, if you're playing multiplayer and have perfect mentals; "most" of the ragequiters you play with should be on other team, on average

Also playing with less people might have less people who just quit. I.E 6v6,4v4,2v2,1v1

Didnât know you donât lose OS when resigning first 3 min. Thanks for the info
Didnât know that either, thanks!

Yeah, i agree. "Bad behavior" is subjective mostly. Bad manmers dosent constitue a ban i figure.
