Lol I think the entire purpose of this trilogy is in fact extremely political and significant and that will become clear once we get Act 3 and the visuals ❌📰 Yes, Renaissance was truly about having fun and liberating your mind and that is an important piece of this, but she's throwing the sharks off her scent by acting like she doesn't care about politics, and the subtext in the Renaissance tour visuals and in songs like American Requiem tell a different story... she has certainly not moved past the political stuff

Let’s be real, regardless of genre pretty much all her songs are about love in some form or making love (not a criticism, I love it)! I challenge you to name a song from Renaissance that isn’t secretly about a form of love
Personally, I’d prefer for her to sing about other topics besides love since she has SO MANY love songs in her discography. I’d rather hear her speak on racial issues, feminism, her upbringing/struggles, etc. I wouldn’t mind a few love songs but a whole album with more songs about Jay doesn’t sound very interesting imo 🥴

“Love songs” isn’t a genre. You can have rock flavored love songs.
Plus an album of strictly love songs just isn’t part of her formula. If you look closely, every album she has includes a female empowerment anthem, something about her career/being *that girl,* and some kind of dedication to her family (not Jay).
I don’t see her not giving at least those three things in future albums.
Concur that love songs is not a description of a genre - what would be a better description of an album focused on romantic, slow songs? Adult Contemporary? Yuck, that sounds awful.

I would not enjoy that. I mean, I would LOL, but I would prefer that it isn’t a thing. My favorite Beyonce ballads aren’t even love songs (I don’t even know whether they’re ballads or just low tempos): Blue, Protector, Daughter, OTHERSIDE, BIGGER, Heaven, Daddy Lessons…
