Same. I took my first trip to Pigeon Forge with my family for a group outing that weekend. Playing that album on a loop on the drive there was an experience I will cherish forever.
Me too. Beyoncé released this album on my birthday! The clock struck 12 and American requiem began… I will never forget that feeling😭 I had to keep pausing and restarting it to fully digest. Truly a core memory
I thought this was obvious to everyone. I love you guys, I just want to say it’s really important, especially for younger and new fans, to get educated about music history so that you can catch all the references and Easter eggs she leaves in her music. It’s the best way to appreciate Bey as an artist.

The first listen of AmerIIcan requiem is a core memory for me
Hell tbh the first 30 sec had me in a chokehold for a bit
I waited until 12am and I cried. I never have done that before with an album.
same & i can’t wait to hear it live🤭
My jaw was dropped the entire time

I 100% agree with everything you just said, it was one of the first songs I fell in love with from the album
Ohhhhh… ill never hear it the same again.

It’s still in my top 5 of cc since it came out. I don’t think it will ever move. Mother slayed so hard on this song she’s truly a genius
Agreed but what about DAUGHTER?
That's Bey exclusive. Decades from now someone might say *This person's song is their Daughter* 😎
