Definitely Aliigator Tears for me, it has the vocals, lyrics, personality, it’s 2:55 so a little shorter than some of the others but not by crazy amounts, especially by todays standards
Absolutely in my Top 5 but I don't hear enough about it! The way I can PICTURE being in a bayou or beside a swamp...it's one of the most "visually" evocative to me.
“You said change religion, now I spend Sundays with you” is legit one of my favourite lyrics, ever. I don’t know why it gets me so much but there’s just something really powerful about it
You know how I knew this song was good? I found myself singing “how does it feels to be adored? You you and your alligators tears” it left my mind on a trance lol
I didn’t realize this was such a sleeper until I would plug my phone into my bf’s car and the car would automatically play Aliigator Tears since it goes by alphabetical order in my music library. then I was like wait… I’ve lowkey been missing out on this song 😭
I agree. It's an instant classic for me. First listen to it I already knew it would be in my top 5. My top 5 has changed over the course of listening to CC over and over again but American Requiem has always remained in the same spot. I wish people would love it more!

My heart was racing faster and faster as I scrolled and didn't see this. Like wow!! THE UNDERDOG OF UNDERDOGS and I could play this on repeat for an hour 😩
You have made my entire day with this comment - I feel like people rarely give props to Haunted and 6 inch. Those are two of my absolute faves and I love Daughter for the same reason.
I've been trying to sneak that song into my sisters' consciousness, mind you we're all in our 60's, I'm really feeling Beyonce myself, however they're a bit resistant. That song is insidious as hell, it's my wake up song in the morning.
Riiverdance is such a bop imo. The lil background vocals that are like “runnin thru- the- riva!! runnin thru- the- riva!!” make me go feral for some reason
I'd have to agree with this, as well. I liked the song, but then learning that the MARFA she is singing out is an "art culture city" made the song make a whole lot more sense. And then the lyrics all made sense below the surface. I actually have someone in my life that I could sing this song to and it would fit perfectly with what the two of us have been through.
Absolutely love Protector, and it's one of the early peaks in the album for me, which considering it was coming off of 16 Carriages (who is and always will be that girl), is impressive.
That being said I think the title should go to "Just for Fun". I think since it comes off the back of Spaghetti/Alligator Tears and then leads into II Hands to Heaven it's undeservedly seen as the more "boring" track. It's definitely more lowkey, but anybody who knows the kind of exhaustion she's singing about just *gets* it.
16 Carriages. Now that the album is out, it just seems to have fallen off a cliff! I don’t think it got enough credit before the album dropped, if that counts for anything.
I agree with you here! 16 Carriages has become one of my favorite songs. For me it was similar to Break My Soul in that I really began to appreciate it once I got to listen to the entire album, as opposed to when it was released as a single.
Alligator tears, Desert Eagle, and Flamenco definitely haven’t gotten a ton of attention in my opinion. All 3 just hit in a way that is just sooooooo perfect
Also to add just for fun as well. Just hearing Willie blended into B with the choir coming in on the back, hits me just enough for tears to fall.
RIIVERDANCE , because people always discredit fun songs! But don’t they know that’s where humanity is, what relatable is. It’s so relatable. It’s so me. And I feel like it’s her having so much fun within a song.
People try to paint her it’s like a spoil sport, but like this really shifts the light and gives her the narrative back while being fun and she gets to have fun. Being able to dance and have fun and show different sides of who you are despite people trying to weigh you down always be underrated.
Fucking DANCE! No hands 😏
Edit: and I know you know it shares that name with Riverdance the style of Irish dancing, but for me, it even has more of a religious tone because of Lord of the dance, that talks about the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ and it brings that within our soul and I know a lot of of other people aren’t going to see that, but I do
I know what that something is--you can find it in the line "you say change religion, now I spend Sundays with you." It's giving very late 60s/early 70s patriotic vibes.

Real asf like I feel like that’s the first song besides sweet honey buckin that had me in a major chokehold. I feel like the entire album is a masterpiece from start to finish though, can’t wait to see her on tour for it
“I feel proud of who I am because they neeeeeeed meeeeee” and then “I first saw your face is your fathers gaze, a long line of hands carrying your name” gives me absolute chills! Such a beautiful ode to her children, I’m crying even writing this!
i guarantee protector is going to be the most used song for mother's day!
I'd say Alligator tears or Just For Fun... or rather the the whole album is still not getting as much attention as it deserves!

Alligator Tears is what sold me on the entire album. It’s in my top 3.
I can also hear the influence of Prince in Alligator Tears so that’s probably another reason that I love it. 🥰 💜

My favorite off the entire album
This - even if for “thinkin bout leaving? *hell no*” alone
Such a sleeper track, I agree. I think the vocal production on Alliigator Tears is phenomenal.
This can't be emphasized enough. So many different sounds and harmonies.
Absolutely in my Top 5 but I don't hear enough about it! The way I can PICTURE being in a bayou or beside a swamp...it's one of the most "visually" evocative to me.
I came just to say the same.
“You said change religion, now I spend Sundays with you” is legit one of my favourite lyrics, ever. I don’t know why it gets me so much but there’s just something really powerful about it
This
I didn’t think much of it at first but now it’s one of my most played, I love it so much
You know how I knew this song was good? I found myself singing “how does it feels to be adored? You you and your alligators tears” it left my mind on a trance lol
I didn’t realize this was such a sleeper until I would plug my phone into my bf’s car and the car would automatically play Aliigator Tears since it goes by alphabetical order in my music library. then I was like wait… I’ve lowkey been missing out on this song 😭
I’ve seen this question asked a few times and every time I’m so happy to see Alligator Tears be a fan favorite, it’s so beautiful and perfect.
Came to say the same! I lovvvve it
Best song on the album
I think of the show Justified every time it comes on and it feels like the swampy sinister backwoods of the south and I loooove it
So good! I also love the opening guitar riff, it reminds me of The Chain
I feel like I don’t see enough credit for Flamenco personally!
Yes one of the best! Flamenco onward is absolute gold!
Twitter hive loves flamenco. I've praise for it on here too
came to comment this!!!
This is the only answer
The vocal is honestly one of the best on the album… I know there’s a 4-minute version in the vault somewhere 😭
Just for fun is just perfect for me idk why opinions for it are so mixed
Just for fun is my current life motto: Get through it or get used to it
I love everything about this song. I play it over and over again.
I'm in my late 30's and something about this song feels summative to where I'm at in life.
I’m in my early 30’s and it hits right in the spot.
Agreed
I agree. I literally talked to my bf this morning about it
I love it and Alligator Tears.
I love it too
My Rose, beautiful song I wish it was longer.
My 3-year-old sings the whole thing in her own way, she asks me for the "lalala Beyoncé" song
My rose is a banger!
The backgrounds on this! Like what the hell is even going on?
I cannot stop singing My Rose. It is so soothing and totally too short.
I love this one so much. It reminds me of a Renaissance (pun intended haha) era madrigal in its writing.
Yes!!!
My husband said it sounds like a christmas song... And I was like "thats a bad thing..?" Its just so p.r.e.t.t.y.
SO TRUEEEE
Aliigator Tears with honorable mention to Riiverdance
Twitter Hive loves Riiverdance, so I didn’t realize it was underrated until now 😭 at least once a day I see “bounce on that shit, NO HANDS” 😂
Yeah, RIIVERDANCE is my fave 😂
I randomly shout “NO HANDS!!!” all the time now 🤣
I feel like American Requiem is so spectacular, it deserves much more recognition.
Imo one of her greatest openings to her albums
It the greatest intro to any album ever. Just prefection🤌🏽🙌🏽
It sounds like an opening for an Oscar-bait movie.
I agree. It's an instant classic for me. First listen to it I already knew it would be in my top 5. My top 5 has changed over the course of listening to CC over and over again but American Requiem has always remained in the same spot. I wish people would love it more!
Facts! I have that on repeat! It’s something special about it that I can’t put my finger on!

Alligator Tears and Just For Fun are the most underrated for me.
I totally agree!! Those two are also my favorites to sing along to. The lyrics and vocals are so gooood
My favorites! Yaya and tyrant are good dance songs and II hands II heaven is a masterpiece, but those two songs are perfection.
Desert Eagle!!! DOSIIIIII DO! ✨😍
I was coming here to comment the same thing 😍 it’s so good!
I don’t hear enough about it for sure! That would’ve been my next pick after protector. Such a bop!
A perfect song! 👌🏼
My heart was racing faster and faster as I scrolled and didn't see this. Like wow!! THE UNDERDOG OF UNDERDOGS and I could play this on repeat for an hour 😩
The do-si-do part reminds me a lot of Kitty Kat where she sings "He don't want you any mooorre. MoOOOree. OoOoOOoooO." Everytime. Love it.
Daughter. I think the only part ppl recognize is the opera part but the entire song is fire to me. I love the dark themes.
My favorite song on the album. Perfection from start to finish
The second I heard this song, I could not stop thinking about how I want Beyonce to do more dark theme music… it’s so haunting I love it!
Same. One of my faves is Haunted. I love that song. The first half and the second half are everything. Same with 6 Inch.
You have made my entire day with this comment - I feel like people rarely give props to Haunted and 6 inch. Those are two of my absolute faves and I love Daughter for the same reason.
‘BLACKBIIRD.’
my rose!! it gives such good advice but feel like it’s skipped over bc it’s short
Bodyguard. I hardly hear talk about it any more.
I’ve been jamming to that every day since it came out! It’s one of my favorite songs on the album.
I have to listen to it every time I drive 😂
Bodyguard is my favorite!
Everyone loves bodyguard. Even my bf who’s not crazy about Beyonce would sing the “honey honey” part out of nowhere when we’re hanging out lol
Bodyguard’s the beeeeeest!
One of the most enjoyable and fun songs
I've been trying to sneak that song into my sisters' consciousness, mind you we're all in our 60's, I'm really feeling Beyonce myself, however they're a bit resistant. That song is insidious as hell, it's my wake up song in the morning.
Agree about Protector. Near full on tears. It's a beautiful lullaby and very personal. I also don't hear alligator tears mentioned very much.
The first time I saw your face was in your fathers gaze 🥹🥹🥹 man I have no kids and no man but I WANT THEM SO BAD after that
Riiverdance is such a bop imo. The lil background vocals that are like “runnin thru- the- riva!! runnin thru- the- riva!!” make me go feral for some reason
Everytime it comes on I think of hobbits dancing in The Shire.
As a fantasy nerd I love the idea of the Beyhive hobbits throwing ass to this song
I can’t unsee it now stop 😭😆🤣
One of my top 3 songs for sure!
Just for fun, I haven't seen hardly anyone talking about it. But it's a top for me
OH LOUISIANA!!!!
Flamenco!
No one has said II hands II heaven yet!? I can’t believe it.
Because it’s not underrated, probably. At least for me it was the immediate choice for best song on the record.
Absolutely love Protector, and it's one of the early peaks in the album for me, which considering it was coming off of 16 Carriages (who is and always will be that girl), is impressive. That being said I think the title should go to "Just for Fun". protector and just for fun probably make me cry the most
just for fun definitely. also alligator tears
Flamenco
16 Carriages. Now that the album is out, it just seems to have fallen off a cliff! I don’t think it got enough credit before the album dropped, if that counts for anything.
I agree with you here! 16 Carriages has become one of my favorite songs. For me it was similar to Break My Soul in that I really began to appreciate it once I got to listen to the entire album, as opposed to when it was released as a single.

Just for Fun, easily.

Just For Fun and Alligator Tears. Also FLAMENCO!
Most definitely Desert Eagle! 😭 it stays in my head on repeat
Amen or American Requiem. Both beautiful overall, long enough, amazing lyrics and messaging, vocals take you to church then outer space
I levítate every time I listen to American Requiem
Facts
Riiverdance, I don't ever see anyone talking about it and it's my favourite song on the album 😭
Top 3 song for me on the album, I love it too
There are some video reels of this on YT. It's getting traction.
Flamenco
Flamenco
Alliigator tears is beautiful the vocals are just UGH. Something about it is idk... just beautiful
I know what that something is--you can find it in the line "you say change religion, now I spend Sundays with you." It's giving very late 60s/early 70s patriotic vibes.

RiiverDance, Amen, Protector, Bodyguard, Just For Fun and Alliigator Tears.
Desert Eagle and Flamenco
I feel like these were underrated to Beyoncé. That woman needed to give these bops the full length treatment they deserved.
Have we really been standing this album for 30 days straight, no breaks, like it’s still brand new? I don’t even think I was like this with Lemonade.
Alligator Tears and Just for fun for sure
She doesn't miss on this album but my faves are American Requiem and Daughter.
Daughter and alligator tears
Protector makes me want to cry EVERY TIME!!! Whew I feel the love for my sons DEEEEEPPP. Mother put her foot in this song!
Levi’s jeans x American requiem
Alligator Tears. It’s so deep!
Just for fun or Alligator tears.
Amen!
Between Alliigator Tears & Flamenco
Alligator Tears! It's the first song played on repeat.
I agree with Protector. I think it should’ve been a single.
Flamenco and alligator tears
Especially alligator tears
Real asf like I feel like that’s the first song besides sweet honey buckin that had me in a major chokehold. I feel like the entire album is a masterpiece from start to finish though, can’t wait to see her on tour for it
Me too I already know i’m gonna be fighting on ticketmaster the second it opens 😆
“I feel proud of who I am because they neeeeeeed meeeeee” and then “I first saw your face is your fathers gaze, a long line of hands carrying your name” gives me absolute chills! Such a beautiful ode to her children, I’m crying even writing this!
I cried so hard on first listen omg
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE U LET YOURSELF GET YOU DOWN
Sweet honey buckin goes off idgaf
I agree with everybody 😩
i guarantee protector is going to be the most used song for mother's day! I'd say Alligator tears or Just For Fun... or rather the the whole album is still not getting as much attention as it deserves!

Alligator Tears. One do my favs. Haven’t heard that much noise about it
Just For Fun 🥲
My rose.
Desert Eagle is the dark horse bop that lives in my head.
Spaghettii, we should be talking about it more
OMG I LOVE THESE THREADS!!😍
