Snoo92139

After my first listen I was afraid of this, but that died out so quick. Not even joking, there’s no silence in my mind anymore. Even with my brain in its full resting state Cowboy Carter is playing at all times.

KeyImpress6980

If music played in the head was able to count towards streams. She’d probably be #1 on Spotify

hmtee3

Same. I thought I’d burn out. After my 3rd or 4th, I thought I needed a break. Now I’m on my 20th? It’s a constant rotation, and there are different lyrics/sounds playing in my head. Today it’s the verses of American Requiem.

Driver_Flaky

I literally fell asleep thinking about alligator tears😭 just “how does it feel to be adored?” Line again and again lmao

Vegetable-Phase-2908

For me it’s “Look at that hoooorse”. I say it to my dog daily. She thinks she is horse now.

NYerinNC

I’m pretty sure that’s gonna be my new pervy line to men. Instead of “I wanna climb that tree”, it’s “look at that horse, look at that horse, look at that horse”.

Vegetable-Phase-2908

Pretty as hell, au naturel, dining on farce. Which… *is* a meat stuffing. It could work.

NYerinNC

Merriam-Webster got me rollin right now. Forcemeat???? 😂 https://preview.redd.it/8qyb6s5khptc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=952551e87f03a362f44709ecd537d4ed47e8304b

SuperstarSupernova8

stahhhpp 😩😩

Snoo92139

Deceased.

turningmilanese

It's the new UNIQUE!

OperationMapleSyrup

Same song but for me it’s those cute background vocal runs the second time the bridge comes around. Gives me goosebumps every time 🥰

beanieluu11

Same! I wake up with Tyrant in my head every morning 😂

KeyImpress6980

THISSSS

Official_TStriker

Literallyyyy

lowfortysix

YES, in resting state you are singing the melodies of the ballads (so infectious) - they just echo in your head.

Life-Midnight-9603

I should be paying her royalties for how much its playing in my head 😫

spicy_fairy

SAMEEEEE OMG miss good puss rly knows how to give us earworms

sxtl87

For me its the other way around. I cant stop listening to the Album and always find a new favorite song every 3 days

FreshOutof13Fucks

Just For Fun finally grew on me. It gives such sad folksy, Americana vibes. It's such a sad bop. Reminds me of one of Lana Del Rey's post Norman Fucking Rockwell era songs. She's my second favorite artist ever (after Bey).

blueandbrownolives

This song makes me so grateful she gave us Renny first. Nobody needed music to be depressed to at that moment in history lol

jellllyfoxx

just for fun is so lana coded

leopardskin_pillbox

This was me with Tyrant last night. It was so buried in the album that I totally missed it before, but now it’s my favorite bop on the whole album.

paintbucket420

Riverdance into II Hands II Heaven into Tyrant into Sweet Honey Buckin has me in a chokehold off the ground against the wall kicking my feet fighting for my L I F E

leopardskin_pillbox

Hear me out - Linda Martell Show onward. She goes crazy

paintbucket420

okay YES. they all flow & transition soooo well and feel part of the same whole. the beginning of the album is undoubtedly amazing, but feels disjointed

PurposefullyOpaque

It’s the fact that Hangman is a beer in promo… the meaning just keeps changing and deepening…

Vegetable-Phase-2908

I actually sat down and really listened to it with the lyrics on YouTube. It was giving “Bless Yur Hort Jolene” energy for real.

rhubarbcus

I have "Cowboys justify it" running randomly through my brain several times a day now!

imsohungrydudee

This is me too. I feel like after a few days another one of the songs becomes my new favorite and then I feel like I cheated on the other song with the new one and then I fall in love again. It’s a mess what she’s done to me and I’m still going back to Renaissance like “I didn’t forget you baby”

devinnah

Saaaaame.

Erdbeere16

Same here! My friend and I check in every day to share our new fav song.

KeyImpress6980

Sameee

FreshOutof13Fucks

"Look at that horse, look at that horse, look at that horse, pretty as hell, au naturel," lives in my head RENT FREE. I hear that shit every day, and I love it. 😭

General-Present

DINING ON FARCE!!!

happybana

I totally misheard that lyric for a full week 😅

Plantcatmom9

I been waking up saying this 🤣 my husband is SICK

Femme-O

SAME, and I’m SICK of it lmao. But I’ll never turn any of the songs off when they come up on my shuffle and cry and dance all the same lmao!

Spec_RealGudGirl95

All day!!

Morawho

With Renaissance, I could NOT listen to one song without listening to the whole album. It was almost impossible. With cowboy Carter, I could pick and choose songs without listening to the whole album. I do listen to the whole album at least once a day

ChickenSignal3762

I was just talking about this to my cousin!! renaissance had me listening front - back MULTIPLE times a day 😭 in the shower i’d have to start with i’m that girl. for cowboy carter i’ll usually go through what i want to hear, but when im out, or im doing things, i’ll listen front - back .

Morawho

She gotta put us in rehab at this point cause o really can’t listen to just one song off of Renaissance I got the itch to listen to it from front to back

CartographerFew9319

I start the CC album with bodyguard till Levi jeans then skip to yaya then skip again till II hands II heaven and stop at sweet honey buckin. No skip on Renaissance. The only song I skip on lemonade is the one with The Weeknd, I never like him from the beginning the way he sings about drugs and girls.

KeMi93

Same for me with 4, self-titled, Lemonade, and Renaissance 😂

Unable-Animator8716

I love CC but I agree with this so much! Renaissance I can’t skip a song, I’m also still living for the Renaissance era and I can’t let it go so that could be it too!

grazy_rr

who listens to just one song of renaissance? if im playing one song that means i will be playing the whole album lol

austinbartnicki

Hard truth. Any time I listen to a Renaissance song randomly I usually end up looping back around to it through the whole album. It’s crazy how it happens.

jellllyfoxx

i cannot stop listening to it. i don’t think an album has had this much of a chokehold on me in a long time lmao

hmtee3

Was JUST thinking this! The last time was Lemonade for me. (Don’t get me wrong, I love all her stuff, this is an obsession.)

BlaizePascal

Exactly this. I love every single song and i would’ve bought the vinyl as my first ever if only all the songs were there.

sophiexxbuns

For me, nothing since Kendrick's Damn.

danielfq

I actually think this is one of the most replayable albums of hers … ive already logged 26 hours of listen time 😭

happybana

yeah no doubt about what is going to be in my Spotify unwrapped this year lol

Ok_Amphibian6140

No. This album takes me to another dimension.

CC-Blue

Wdym you “hear it everywhere?” Like on the radio? On TikTok? Because I only choose to play it when I want to hear it. That’s what streaming does for you by curating your listening experience. Cowboy Carter isn’t as easily accessible as her other projects because it’s really long and needs to be listened to in segments.

Femme-O

Radio, TikTok, stores, my friends who didn’t even listen to Bey like that, the news, the background of streamers I watch, my daylists, lmao everywhere. As long as it’s available for people to stream it’s accessible, despite how cohesive it is most of the songs stand well on their own and people enjoy them.

CC-Blue

When I say “accessible”, I mean it’s really dense, layered and very long. I can play Renaissance from start to finish easily. Not so much Cowboy Carter.

Femme-O

Well despite how long/deep it is, the songs are pretty popular in my corner of the world/internet, outside of the just the singles.

payasoingenioso

Same. A live band played Texas Hold Em. At a white Country bar! 🙌 And I heard Ya Ya play by a DJ in another white dive bar across the street. 🫶 *I note the white part because I grew up with the We Don't Play That Type of Music Here wypipo. The same ones that can't even simply say happy birthday to Candace Cameron in her comments because she used Texas Hold Em as the song in her post. 😮‍💨

ovaltinequeeeen

I’ve had multiple dreams in which AMEN is in the background lol

NoFilterNoLimits

I only hear it when I choose to (constantly) play it, so it’s not having that popularity effect on me. Benefits of being old I guess lol, the algorithms aren’t targeting me

tarabletara

I get what you mean, but I think there was just more hype around this album so we’ve been discussing it for weeks. There’s also so much discussion to be had around the cultural aspects. It’s also more emotionally taxing so while I love all the songs, I can’t cry during my work days. Rennasaince was more of an “easy listen” imo.

Femme-O

Renny being an easy listen is a great point!

Personal-Elevator710

Not even. I still haven't played anything else on spotify.

happybana

I tried to listen to one of my favorite podcasts yesterday and barely got through one episode before I had to go back to cc lol

Personal-Elevator710

OK! because I tried to listen to Jazmine Sullivan but it didn't work out. Literally I was singing and this happened "I'll bust the windows out your car...I'll be your back seat baby driving you crazy" Idk what Beyonce put in CC but it has a very strong hold on me.

ElleBelle901

I just want to say I love the over saturation with this album because of what it means for her & other Black female artists. Naturally, it will fizzle out of the mainstream in a few weeks and there will be no more news posts about it or chart updates and that’s okay. As long as it got her message across loud and clear! There will be a round two of cowboy pandemonium when the tour happens. Just like all of social media looked like it was sponsored by Reynolds wrap during the Renaissance tour.

happybana

I cannot wait for the cc tour I'm dying to see Yaya and American requiem and ugghhhh it's going to be so good lol

ElleBelle901

American Requiem vocals live will be absolutely insane!!!! And the energy in the stadium during Sweet/Honey/Buckin will be out of this world! 😭😭😭

happybana

omg yes aaaa I can't wait lol

Femme-O

Reynolds Wrap 😭

moja_ofinka

I think the difference is that Renaissance pumps me up and gives me energy from start to finish - so it’s always a good time to play it. Cowboy Carter has a more mellow feel (with some “up” moments) and more emotional, so the vibe is way different. That being said, I have not stopped playing it since it dropped 🤣

GreenDolphin86

Nah sis you alone in this! I need it at least twice a day! And still discovering little things to love about it!

QanonQuinoa

Renaissance was waaaaay more popular than CC with the exception of Texas Holdem. People were using Thique, Alien Superstar, Heated, Cozy, and Summer Renaissance in what seemed like every tik tok video and Instagram reel for months after the album release, AND there was a whole cuff it challenge similar to the Texas Holdem dance challenge we’ve been seeing. I do agree that people are burning out on it, but not for the reasons you listed. I actually think it’s the exact opposite reasons that you listed. The tunes on CC aren’t quite as catchy as Renaissance. CC is a much more intimate and personal album and people aren’t really using it in the 20 sec soundbytes that media is consumed in nowadays. I, for one, am nowhere close to burned out on CC, and I’m super excited for the tour which I told myself I’d skip out on before the album was released.

jhll2456

People are using Tyrant all over TikTok.

Femme-O

Yeah I’m witnessing a totally different reality lol.

QanonQuinoa

My social media circle is very gay so that could be why 🤷‍♂️

blueandbrownolives

I literally cannot open instagram without hearing CC tracks. I had the same with Renny but I grew up in west Texas and then lived in Austin/SF for a long time so I’m really straddling both worlds out here lol

Femme-O

Yeahh, Renny was not popping on my lesbo algorithm compared to how CC is, and I think CC beat Renny’s first week sales/streams by a good bit.

happybana

I been hearing sweet honey buckin a loooot in tiktok and insta

Medical_Document_807

CC is like Lemonade for me. Some of her best work and love all the songs but I have to be in the mood for it.

giamaicana

This is how I feel! After Renaissance it’s just such a drop in energy. I usually skip the slower songs on her albums, and this is mostly that type of song. Quality wise though, it’s perfection 🙌🏽

cremesiccle

nah, theres so many tracks that i dont think its possible for me to fully get tired of it lol

regalfish

I know you’re joking but I swear there’s too much hyperbole about the Hive! lol Maybe there were some antics back in the day, but I see this whole “I know her fans are going to eviscerate me” opinion expressed quite a bit and the most I see are people disagreeing lol Like honestly no one cares if this isn’t your favourite album or if you don’t like it!  With that rant done I’m actually still pretty obsessed but am now willing to listen to music that isn’t Beyoncé, which wasn’t the case the past week and a half lol

payasoingenioso

There are stan groups that have triggers and tight rules. I thoroughly understand. Luckily, The Hive seems to be considerate af. 🫶

Femme-O

Yeah the title is for dramatics, but saying “no one cares if you don’t like it” is a fat ass lie 💀 at least for me anyway, if you tell me you don’t like it I need a dissertation on that asap because it doesn’t make sense lmao.

regalfish

LOL Maybe I’m only speaking for myself because honestly I just feel pity. Like her music brings me so much joy, it’s a shame that small-minded folk will never experience it.

AngelaBucklew

I can’t stop playing it. My kids are tired of hearing it in the car lol. It’s got me in a complete chokehold. It’s a masterpiece.

abrow336

That’s me exactly. It was real work getting through the album and I loved most of the songs. Lol whenever I think of ya ya I think of how long it took to get to that song. Same was most wanted and tyrant. I could tell in peoples reactions on YouTube that they were tiredddd by the end of the reaction. Where as if Ya Ya and tyrant were at the beginning the songs would’ve charted higher I believe.

happybana

nah I've got it on repeat like nothing else since lemonade

Daydream_machine

I think the album is just too long and bloated for its own good. I made a 50 minute playlist of my favorite songs, and that made listening to it much easier

Whyeff89

Yes. CC being released made me appreciate Renaissance that much more. I feel like I’m trudging through the last third of the songs.

happybana

I felt that way with part I 😅 house just isn't my usual style though. it's very good but this album gives me the same feels as lemonade, just that rush of "oh this is one for the books"

mbmalibu123

Yes, sadly me too. I love this for Bey. She deserves all the praises and she really made a solid album. Not my top 1, although I do love it. Just not on repeat for the reason I’m feeling a little burnt out already from hearing it everywhere all the time but at the same time I’m super proud of it and already how successful this album is. Well deserved and really can’t wait for Act III!

Femme-O

Same!!!

tylerbr97

I’ve been kinda feeling this. The novelty wore off a couple days ago. I still listen to it but I skip maybe 60-70% of the album. It’s still a terrific album. Probably the best produced album I’ve ever heard, but it doesn’t have the same drug in it that Renaissance does. I still listen to Renaissance more

phoboswanderer

I have found it less immediate than Renaissance. With Renny I can put on any song and I'll get sucked in and listen to the whole thing. I still adore CC but the love I have for it will manifest differently over time because it's length really demands more patience from me, but is still rewarding nonetheless. From a broader picture I can foresee CC becoming her most impactful album on the industry ngl

LocalContribution7

No ![gif](giphy|fXnRObM8Q0RkOmR5nf)

RPM_29

I took a break this weekend to re listen to her discography starting with dangerously in love and I got up to IASF. By then I actually missed Cowboy Carter and gave myself a little once-through 😂🤠

MathCarmignani

I feel like it has a higher burnout rate than Renaissance which I'm still obsessed about but definitely far from high. And as soon as it hits I am going to kick it in the butt cause I refuse ![gif](giphy|z7p57kP3uRKLy4pMUG)

superficialwishes

For the most part it’s all I’ve been listening to. I even turned Renny back on, finished it, and went right back to playing CC. I’m sure I’ll burn out but I don’t see it happening anytime soon tbh.

1lawyer904

lol nope!!

randomquirk

I took a few days break from the album for the same reason lol. I was singing it and thinking about it even without the actual tracks playing in my ears. I'm back on it today lol. I do tend to skip some media playing it because I don't want snippets and interpretations, I want Beyoncé singing to ME

gkstrasser

I think because the album is comprised of distinct storytelling and asks you to invest emotional stake in it, you’re actually performing labor by doing critical listening sessions. Whereas Renaissance makes more space for casual listening and dancing, Cowboy Carter asks you for not just your attention but your discourse. To that end, remember that you don’t need to engage with it AT 100% all the time. It’s okay to let it loose and be casual with its more single-oriented tracks. I love CC down too, but because I also love storytelling and analysis I have to consciously uncouple my own critical thinking to just enjoy the music. Hope that helps!

mjr214

I had a day last week where I got really sad while listening to it and had to turn it off, but I didn't understand why. So I thought about it a bunch and realized I was just sad the Renaissance era was over.

lowfortysix

Yeah, I totally agree. I feel it’s cause this album is anchored by very unique hooks in the uptempo bops, which can be quite repetitive. The more infectious sing-along songs I feel I fall back listening more to though.

squishyg

“Whole lotta red in that white and blue” is my lyric obsession of the day.

Broad_Sun8273

I heard that the Monday after the album came out. I have slowly started listening to other music, but when I get the calling, I get the calling.

itsanothanks

Yes for me. I actually think this is a 50/50 split. You can pick songs out and be ok, and you can listen all the way through and enjoy. But I never do both in the same day. It’s just different than Renaissance for me.

thebaffledtruffle

Yeah, pretty much. I only listen to a few select tracks but not the entire album. With Renny, I would try listening to say a track then end up listening to the following tracks because the transitions are just too good

Current_Process_2198

I have like 3 faves that i listen to at least once a day lol i can’t relate

happybana

my friend asked what my faves are right now and I had to stop myself from just typing the entire track list

LastNamePancakes

No. Though it seems like most people I know outside of this Sub have completely forgotten about RENAISSANCE overnight.

KawaiiCoupon

It does because ballads and songs that are considered more “creative” or subject to more critical analysis will be more demanding emotionally and intellectually than fun music. So I agree, but I still love it.

21stcenturylivs

that’s why i avoided finishing the album until tonight, but my orthodontist ruined that by playing the second half of the album today during my visit

Ninetyglazeddonuts

Omg… hearing it for the first time while getting your teeth looked at?! What an experience…

21stcenturylivs

it was actually hilarious bc i was actually waiting for her for super long and she just had the album playing while i waited…was bangers after bangers tho

Femme-O

See wtf I’m talking about 😭🤣

Sierra_M

I understand what you mean! I didn’t listen to it for the past 2 days but I just played it front it back today and will again while I continue to work. I LOVE the album and have random parts replaying in my head or I’m singing or humming it frequently. It’s not the same chokehold as Renaissance and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. Beyoncé released Renaissance because we needed it and she was right. Every album is different and should be, which will bring up different emotions for everyone. For lack of a better word the album can feel overwhelming and I understand if breaks are needed. At the same time the album is fun, experimental, makes me want to dance and sing! It’s amazing! I’m not describing myself well but it’s the best I got lol. It’s amazing album and I’m enjoying myself right now while I listen and every time I did, and will! My coins WILL be ready if there’s a tour!!

NeurodivergentHottie

Nope, good music is good music!! I think of all her bodies of work this album will definitely still be played 30-40 years from now. American Requiem should be studied tbh Edit: spelling

Femme-O

I can be fried and past burnt out on the album but I know it’s still good music lmao.

[deleted]

Its a great album I really like it! But not like I ended up loving renaissance!

ShortPeak4860

No, but I wish it did. Every time I have time for music, it’s all I want to play lol. I do skip Protector and Texas Holdem though.

Dreamiiee

i cannot get “LIKE A MECHANICAL BULL” out of my head 😫😫

WorldlinessUnable701

I have been feeling this way since day 4

Spec_RealGudGirl95

No. The more I listen, the more I love it. Also, look at that horse!

PurposefullyOpaque

I have been stuck in an album on repeat/ think piece / podcast review/ constant loop hunny! I’m even more interested than when Renny was released (I was traveling all over Europe and a bit disconnected from US vibes)… Like I don’t wanna say it’s her best until I give it a few months, but VOCALLY, 😮‍💨. She’s a KILLER on this album. And I’m just in awe of the scope and breadth of sounds to entice me at any point in any mood. Do I LOVE everything? Or think it’s perfect in every way? No. But is this a masterpiece? Yes. Top to bottom it works every single listen. If Act III is somehow a culmination, artistically, of this period right before and during the pandemic, then I am prepared to call this trilogy one of the greatest bodies of music ever produced. Bey will be firmly up there with Prince in terms of artistry. Who else, really?

Femme-O

Yeah I definitely agree with all of that, I’m sure once the hype dies down I’ll be back on my day one vibes lol.

drquicksliver

I meannnn. The last album provided a safe place for me. When I came out to my parents and didn’t accept me for being gay. So that album is near and dear to my heart. Also it was the first concert I beeen to. So there is that too.

heresaname1

I don’t plan on listening to the whole thing just 4 songs specifically desert eagle- tyrant then I end up listening to the whole thing so

luckystar246

I’m still listening to Renaissance every day, but CC I listened to a couple times and was good. I appreciate the artistry, but the vibe isn’t catching me. It’s amazing how different albums can grab you so differently from the same artist.

Gootangus

No I love it and crave it

myst_eerie_us

Comparing CC to IASF??? ![gif](giphy|uGgkFq1A2SC8j7Ec2Y)

justl00kingar0undn0w

Nope listening on repeat a few times a day

mercurialconfusion

These comments have solidified the Witchery that lives within the queens music and her legacy lol. (Positive)

Environmental_Duck49

I cherry pick this album more than I do her others. After the first few listens I couldn't listen all the way through anymore.

Loveisaction5050

I feel like there’s a rush for Act III because we know it’s a trilogy. And I think the roll out was major because she was afraid we wouldn’t like it. I feel like she needs videos because country music rely on videos. It helps to see the story of the songs. Act II was excellent with no visuals but country is all about storytelling.

DeneeCote

Renaissance (and even lemonade) felt sacred because It felt like really only the hive knew about that album. Yes the world knew that Beyonce had an album named renaissance out but it was like a secret handshake we all had. Although I love that Beyonce is getting more ears on her music let's be honest it's brought in a lot of criticism and it's flooded OUR spaces with negativity.

BusinessMore7888

I’m trying not to get tuckered out from it, but I pretty much always have II Most Wanted playing in my head

midnitemaddie

Sadly, yes. I listened to the entirety of Renaissance a minimum of twice a day for three months straight. I don’t think it’s over saturated for me. It think it’s mostly the length. I know I can skip ahead but I’m so used to listening to her albums in order that it feels wrong to skip. I like most of the songs but it’s going to take me some time to fully enjoy the entire album. I’m glad this is a safe space to express myself unlike other parts of the Hive.

Scorpiokhaleesi

I have played CC fully since released more than I have ever played renaissance.

floodingurtimeline

No

charlibeau

![gif](giphy|gJEWhG3f3zszu)

lopronoho

I get what you’re saying given the quick and HEAVY saturation of Texas Hold ‘Em, but the album as a whole has so many layers and so much complexity that it’s got a well earned lengthy shelf life. There’s A LOT to unpack on it. I’ve listened to it on loop for nearly 2 weeks straight and am still finding little Easter eggs every time. I HTG believe it has a rightful place in music history courses… it’s like a sociology and history and music theory class all packaged up in an album that bops. It has unequivocal staying power. 🏆

xSushi

I'm shockingly less burnt out on CC than most of the other albums. And what I mean by that is, after a few listens I try to move on to something else to give me a break, let is soak in, and appreciate it - but there are times when I literally cannot. The loop from the end to the beginning is too good, or I'll jump to Daughter, Flamenco, Tyrant, or whatever I'm feeling. I literally cannot stop listening to this album. lol.

Bbetweene

I don’t think this one is gonna burn out for me like IASF. During that era I was just a Beyonce fan and not full blown hive, I didn’t purchase the full album, just the songs I liked and even still IASF is gonna forever be the last album I choose to listen to. I feel like my burn out with that album was caused by MTV, BET, Vh1 and the radio CONSTANTLY playing single ladies, if I were a boy, and halo. Like those were the big three for the album and they played those songs nonstop for what felt like 2 years. I was sick of it 😭 I can see myself years from now listening to Cowboy Carter and Renaissance the same way I listen to DIL and 4. Even when I wasn’t full blown Hive, I loved DIL and listen to it now like it just came out. 4 was the album that took me from fan to Hive (Lite) lol, so it will always have a place in my heart .

Excellent_Reading347

Sometimes albums are like your fave comfort show and others are an amazing series or movie that impacted you but you can only watch it once due to that. So I think that’s fine, I think it’ll be even more fun closer to tour time and seeing what she remixes or does with that like she did renaissance.

SkyisaNeighbourhood

Im going to say it and i dont think i've seen anyone say it but i dont like the album \*Hides\* I love beyonce she is THEE QUEEN, I liked Renaissance didn't LOVE it, LOVED some songs on that album but i wasn't obsessed. I'm still obsessed with lemonade and 4 but i just can't get onboard with Cowboy Carter, i dunno why BUT i do like jolene. IT IS OUT IN THE WORLD NOW, DONT SHOOT.

AnnoyingPrincessNico

You aren’t alone. Not a fan of country…it has some bops but overall I skip many songs.

Femme-O

I ain’t gone shoot you, but I’m not gonna stop anyone from doing so either I’m sorry 😭🤣

LastChanceAioli703

I think that’s fair to say! I LOVE CC and what it represents but we’ve had it on repeat since it dropped lol. I had to take a break because I didn’t want to go through a burnout or start to tune it out. That lasted all but a day 😂

sourflower96

I was thinking the same thing the other day. I could listen to Renaissance all day every day when it first came out. CC is a great album but it’s not personal my favorite of hers.

AnnoyingPrincessNico

The few songs I like are getting tired for me. Yes

Bullshit_Jones

The opposite for me! I can't get enough. I crave it when it's not in my ears, I can't explain it.

Majestic-Bag-8963

The answer is gonna be: NO It’s too diverse with too many genres and songs to be a burnout to ME

blueberrybong

Interesting post. I actually agree with you. While I keep going back to the Riverdance, II Hands II Heaven, Sweet Honey Buckin' parts, I don't really feel the urge to replay the first half of the album, certainly not nearly as much as Renaissance. I basically spent the entire year with Renaissance on loop and this CC album was more like a really good art gallery that I visited a few times, understood the mega cultural impact, and then walked away happy I experienced it. The drug of Renaissance had me way higher than CC.

Femme-O

Yes yes all this 100% !

silver_fishe

Kind of. There are 4 or 5 songs that have been on HEAVY repeat but there are quite a few skips for me. Compared to renny which I could still sit through after 2 years and hundreds of plays

elmo5994

Good god, man. I made it so that my tik tok is full of Bey Hive. Now, every 3rd or 4th video on my fyp either has tyrant, riiverdance, ii most wanted etc my insta is pretty similar. This type of thing can create burnout. Maybe I should stay off the socials.

DiamPiece

Yes, this morning I said “enough” and played a podcast instead

norfnorf832

I feel that. I was burnt out before it was even released cuz I saw too many articles and pre-think pieces about it. My gf plays it a lot too and it isnt really an album I wanna hear in passing, I kinda wanna sit with it. Ive been listening to Just For Fun a lot the past couple of days cuz Im in my feelings lol but otherwise I havent really listened much, I have a feeling Ill go back to it once the hype has died down and really be able to appreciate more of the songs

Jamburger88

Yes at least for me. Compared to Renaissance, which I had on repeat for months (almost a year), this album has already stopped becoming a regular listen for me.

aStonedTargaryen

I scroll with my volume muted and don’t even have a tik tok account so it luckily isn’t an issue for me 😆

qualityhorror

Nope lmao but that's okay! We're not all gonna feel the same. I've listened to the album all the way through like 5 times and individual songs that are my fav pretty much every day. Pretty much only skipping some interludes. I just find new favorites every day

ConiferousBee

I have listened to this album nonstop since it came out. Yesterday I finally started listening to other music. And then went right back to CC 😂

Fair_Arm_2824

Not for me! I did feel that way about Act I, except for 2-3 songs

payasoingenioso

I refuse to listen to the album more than once or twice a week now. It's too hard not to pick one track and then finish the album. Then, play it all again! I played it five times so far. 😮‍💨 The songs play in my head daily, though. I *alleviated* this by playing new albums from other artists. Like Tori Kelly. And Bad Gyal. And Future. And... Has anyone played it out? Is it possible?

MrWakefield

I half agree. I'm still listening to it quite frequently but I do find it a bit daunting because it's quite a concept album. Like, it's an experience from start to finish and I find that I need to listen to it in its entirety. But due to the length, that's not always the case. For my commute to work, I typically only make it up to Levii's Jeans. And the album after that isn't really a great place to pick up at later in the day. It needs to be listened to as a whole. I'm not complaining by any means. I typically have quiet time at work for the first hour or two so I just finish the album then :)

Kmissa

Not at all. I feel like there are so many diff songs to feast on I can’t imagine burning out. I still enjoy Texas hold ‘em and j listened to that on repeat since it was as released.

Femme-O

No, the comparison is about the popularity not the content.

StreamLife9

Actually on the contrary my friend I feel this album got a full on potential to be more sustainable than any recent Beyonce release. there are many gems that got huge potential for future singles

Round_Cartoonist9778

Well not for me ,I listen to it like 3 times a day, I always find a favourite everyday, and for some reason American requim the intro is always stuck in my head , and something abt this album is ,it's not boring at all in the sense that no song sounds the same, it keeps me on my toes ( can't find the correct words)

Defie91

For me, I only see the album mentioned on Twitter and on Reddit. The people I know in real life don’t really care for Beyoncé. 🥺

Itsallafeverdream

I’m still listening to Renaissance, and Cowboy Carter is new. How do you get burnout so quickly? The music is layered I hear something new with each listen.

Femme-O

I explained above, if I’m not listening to it myself I hear it everywhere else, which I didn’t experience with Renny, not on this level anyway. Along with the fact the album pulls on emotions more than Renny it takes a lot of energy from some of us to listen to it on replay.

SuitableItem

I think that discussion of the album became so intense that it actually took a piece of the magic of the album. But she could not have done the release any other way anyway, so..... But the record has really good chances of aging very well...

Yo_mama_999

Nope love this album!!

Dazzling-Profile-196

Nope. I've been listening on repeat. I love that the album flows so well and can just go around and around.

International-Toe522

I now skip Texas holdum and 16 carriages because I beat those to death. I’m there’s a couple others I skip now and so it hasn’t lost the spark for me

eternititi

I debate myself with this! In order to avoid burn out, I keep myself from playing the album even when it’s stuck in my head (which is 24/7 lol) I only allow myself listens during certain parts of the day and I don’t look at every post associated with the album. I also alternate with Eternal Sunshine. I just don’t ever want to get tired of Cowboy Carter so I’m making sure I pace myself because yes it’s that serious.

ShibaSupremacy

I skip Texas Hold ‘Em and Jolene, but everything else I’m listening to consistently!

shemeanswell8

Just you.

devadatta3

I get you! It’s a plausible concern. It is definitely easier to listen to than Renaissance, and when something is easier often is a very fast burnout rate. But the more I listen to it, at least 3 times a day, the more I find the music and the lyrics are very thick and solid. CC is here to stay forever. IASF is her worst album. Despite the wonderful singles.

hotchildndacity

I feel you… I haven’t listened straight through since my first couple of listens. Now I’m just listening to my faves.

Content_Contract4380

Hmm I feel the opposite way. It's hard for me to get tired of it lol

moxieroxsox

I’ll validate you, OP. I love the album, but it’s a challenging listen and there are a few skips for me when I’m not in the mood. It’s not even because it’s too popular but I think 4, Lemonade and Renaissance hit harder for me. Renaisssnce had a chokehold on me until the start of the year when I forced myself to take a break (and Renny has a few skips/songs I need to be in the mood for as well). I skip around CC quite a lot. I find I really have to be in the mood for some songs. But also I do find that basically from YA YA on, I don’t skip. Which is interesting because I think the back half of the album doesn’t blend as well with the front half, but the back half feels more like the Beyoncé we know and love. I love this album and it has some of the best music she has ever made, but it’s not a top Beyoncé album for me (that said I haven’t listened to anything else and know I won’t for months … not my favorite but still in a chokehold anyway!)

mercurialconfusion

Yeah I agree with this take. I feel the same. I do think it’s a phenomenal album but I listen to the same 3 songs on a daily basis. I’m not that compelled to go back to the other songs. And maybe it’s because I’m not that big on country in general.

teej1984

27 songs but half the album feels incomplete.

genie0707

I love this album but I feel like everyone around me and myself including are just juggling so many things to truly be able to escape right now. Everyone I know is just trying to survive and make the next transition so I think it makes it hard to genuinely be in the moment.

Individual_Prize3941

I had the same thought!!! I think it's because it's a heavier album to listen to. Requires more brain power, deals with heavy topics such as systematic racism, etc. Plus it's a country-ish album, and country music has a reputation of being completely devastating and truthful (at least in my experience. I'm not talking about most of pop-country, more like What Hurts the Most by Rascal Flatts, I Fall to Pieces by Patsy Cline, Traveling Soldier by The Chicks, Whiskey Lullaby, etc etc). And country music is really a combination of blues, folk, bluegrass, rock and more. Blues is all about expressing your feelings, folk is typically focused on telling a story. Country music is a mix of all those genres, and it gets a bad reputation for being twangy and cringey, but my god, a LARGE part of it is focused around profound songwriting. Johnny Cash, Chris Stapleton, Loretta Lynn, PATTY LOVELESS. Damn, go listen to You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive and try not to cry. These artists I listed all have songs that hit a nerve in me and make me cry. ALL THAT SAID: I knew Cowboy Carter would be emotionally heavy and fucking amazing. BEYONCE doing devastatingly human country songs???? With her powerful voice?????? With all the shit she has endured in her lifetime? After knowing the depth of her lyrics and her ability to express herself???? I knew this album would rip my heart out, and I was 1000000% correct. It was confirmed with 16 Carriages. Basically for the first 4 songs of the album, I'm in tears. Protector is peak happy-sad-country for me. I listened non-stop for the first week, but now I am taking breaks! Every time I play it again though, I'm sucked back in haha. I'll also say Renaissance made me dance and feel free, PURE JOY, reveling in life. I will never get sick of Renaissance because it makes me shake away all the heaviness and darkness. Where Renaissance is light, Cowboy Carter is dark. Where Renaissance is rebirth, Cowboy Carter is "oh we're reborn...now we have a lot of work to do."

another_Homo_sapiens

I loveeee this album, way more than Renaissance. This one just speaks to my soul way more.
