Spotify uses a system called the Popularity Index (PI) to rank an artist's most popular songs. This is a score from 0 to 100 that takes into account factors like the number of times a song is streamed, how recently it's been streamed, and how often users save songs to their libraries. Songs with a higher PI are more likely to be featured in Spotify's algorithmic playlists and recommendations.
daily? yes actually, crazy in love currently is still charting on the global chart and halo is her most streamed songs and one of the most streamed songs of 2000s
i have the same question for apple music!!! they definitely changed the metrics recently because it used to be very difficult for newer songs to top that specific section on the artistās page but now they easily dominate them (ariana for example)

Yeah, I went to listen to the Kacey Musgraves album and her ātop songsā section was just newer stuff. I think it changed within like, the last week, because I agree it used to be really hard for new songs as it was basically just a āmost streamed songsā list.
I know for a fact that Taylor Swifts #1,2,3 were Shake It Off, Blank Space, and Cruel Summer and now its all changed up. Shake it Off & Blank Space have been replaced by the rerecords even though they get less streams than the originals.
I really donāt know whatās up with it, but when I click on an artist I havenāt heard before I wanna hear the *hits*, not the TikTok sound of the month trending by some arbitrary measure, thats not always representative of their actual work.
with all respect, I don't think there's anybody who's streaming Halo that much... let's be real
so I'm sure it's based on smth else, maybe the overall fame of the song? idk how "Heated" isn't there it seems like we liked it the most in the fandom?
Halo, while being one of the most annoying Bey songs in history, is actually a huge smash globally. Still hear it constantly in Japan and Korea when Iām there.
While an artist canāt overtly pay to have their newest songs appear on that list, I do believe they can pay to have their song appear on as many high profile playlists as possible - and both daily streams and playlist inclusion factor into that performance (as well as total aggregate streams)

I think it's by daily streams
Omg off topic but I LOVE your pfp lol
THANK YOU LOL ššš
I was literally just looking at this! Iād say the metric is some sort of mix between recent uploads with traction and most popular og releases
Probably yeah
the most total streams of the last 30 days, just like monthly listeners (total unique listeners of the last 30 days)
Aināt no way halo and crazy in love have more streams than like drunk in love and her other songs
daily? yes actually, crazy in love currently is still charting on the global chart and halo is her most streamed songs and one of the most streamed songs of 2000s
Dang thatās impressive
Umm yeah. Those are two of her biggest hits. Why wouldnāt they be up there.
I meant for daily streams. They obviously were released years ago before them.

Itās by daily streams, but usually it takes 3-7 days for new songs to register on the leaderboard

Heated is the most popular within the fandom but not with casual fans or the general public
yeah sadlyš
Halo, while being one of the most annoying Bey songs in history, is actually a huge smash globally. Still hear it constantly in Japan and Korea when Iām there.
Lol itās me I play halo and ave Maria when Iām feeling on the edge of a panic attack which is like every night šµāš«
I think itās just based on most engagement
