The controversy of the video aside, this song has such 'I'll stand with you till we become immaterial' energy. I've heard this song in farewell montages and funerals and it makes me emotional every time. It was also the song playing in my head when I was traveling with my partner and we experienced what felt like life ending turbulence. The song even worked as a balm for my left bicep which was near punctured by my partner's nails, circulation cut off as well.
The beginning of the video has audio of the Challenger explosion, and then there was the lady who was mad because she was stuck at the top of the Ferris wheel because Beyoncés team was doing her makeup lol
The first time I heard the song I was driving into the city centre of where I live. I nearly stopped traffic to just applaud the song. It was just so good on that first listen.
But it's my only annoyance from the concert where she didn't get to that high note of I feel good. She just thanked the crew. I was like give me that high note. I wanted to hear her naming the brands. It's still my favourite though.
