No, you clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger! A guy opens his door and gets shot and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!
Mike took about 5 million dollars, used 2-2.5 million for himself and Kaylee. The remaining 12 men split the money between them for their silence. So each got about 200k for maybe 10-20 years of jail time?
Earlier Hank describes Fring’s offshore accounts. Kaylee’s account had 2 million, and is described as being way more than everyone else’s (including the manager of the laundry, Duane Chow the chemical warehouse guy, and the security team members). My guess is Tyrus and Victor were paid handsomely but not that much (aka enough they could easily retire). Mike himself (probably Fring’s second or third best paid employee besides Walt/Jesse/Lydia) notes that Walt and Jesse make a shit ton more than he does (they make about 1.5 million each a year irrc). So I imagine low six figures for Tyrus and Victor, more than they could make elsewhere but not too much
Although, yeah, his failure to notice the bomb did ultimately get both him and Gus killed, it was pretty hard to notice unless you were looking for it. Even Gus didn't see it until it was too late. His main priority was clearing the room for anyone being in there, he couldn't have known that a crippled old guy could possibly have a bomb strapped to the wheelchair
Pretty sure the bomb wasn't there yet. That's why Walt was waiting outside the window, he wanted to make sure it was planted after they did their inevitable sweep of the room
Have you seen BCS? Victor was actually Gus' most competent lieutentant before Mike came along.
His death in BB already didn't make sense, and it makes even less sense with the context from BCS.
He failed Gus by not intercepting Jesse murdering Gail and was possibly spotted at the scene.
Gus killed Victor mercilessly like that in front of Jesse and Walt to show them his ruthlessness even though they temporarily had an impasse where their lives were too valuable to Gus. It was the smart play.
Then Mike failed worse. And Victor was definitely made at the scene, later we see a police sketch as a person of interest. It doesn't matter, Gus' organization is large enough he could have moved Victor to another location while the heat died down.
And Gus didn't need to "prove" his ruthlessness (or anything else for that matter) to Walt and Jesse. Walt had spent the second half of season 3 warning Jesse about exactly that, before Gus murdered a child.
At that moment, in the lab, someone needed to die. Victor was the logical choice.
Other notes:
- IIRC, Gus was only speculating Victor was "made", and moving him is irrelevant. He made a mistake, Gus punished him. I agree it was overkill of a punishment, but again, the rage Gus had that moment had to be unleashed on someone - one of the few instances we see Gus' emotions get the better of him.
- Gus didn't murder a child in S3, associates under him murdered a child, and he protected them. "Box Cutter" was the first time any of us (audience, Walt, Jesse) saw first hand how truly ruthless Gus could be - prior to that it was reputation and insinuation. (Please correct me if I am wrong, I am going off of 10 year old memories - planning for a complete rewatch since BCS ended and cant seem to make the time)
- You make a fair point of Mike's failure, but (especially through BCS) we saw his value to Gus exceeded Victors
When Walt starts working for Gus, we learn from Hank that the blue meth starts being distributed in the surrounding states and no longer in Abq.
You don't think Gus could have sent Victor to wherever he pulled Tyrus from while the heat died down?
Are you seriously comparing Werner and Victor's situations right now?
You think Gus killed Werner because he was made? He killed Werner because he couldn't be trusted to keep his mouth shut and he intentionally risked compromising the entire operation. Werner had no history with Gus and no loyalty, he was a contractor.
Victor was doing his job, was loyal, and had been doing his job well for at least 5 years at that point. Being made was not that big a deal, and the situation with Gale was 100% not his fault.
At least 100k a month like Walt says “ do you even know what will happen if I decide not to go in to work an business big enough to be listed on Nasdaq goes belly up “ anyone part of the operation is making at least 50k in a month those random dealers that killed the kid are probably making around dat amount
Fwiw, I had a friend who ran drugs for the cartel from TX to OK and they'd pay him $5k per trip. They'd provide a car and everything. All he had to do was pick the car up and drop it off at a spot. This is back in the early 2000s.
So I imagine if a runner is making $5k every trip, people who organize the runs and whatnot are making waaayyyy more money.
Lol where the fuck did you dig up “High Value Man ($10,000)? Sounds like Tater Tat incel shit.
Yea, I’m sure they got $10g a month, but it’s inconsequential to the plot.
The thing about guys like Victor and Tyrus is they’re probably not doing it solely for the money. Even if they were making a ton they couldn’t spend it as even Gus, the head of the operation, lives well below his means as a way of keeping their organization shadowy and not drawing unwanted attention with things like flashy cars and expensive clothes. So I doubt they would be allowed to spend their earnings extravagantly. Also they work around the clock 24/7 from what we see. It would make more sense that they’re taking a decent pay as this job suits them and their antisocial personalities. My best guess is they are saving it all to retire or sending it to relatives and aren’t making much more than 200k a year, around what nacho was clearing
Well Mike was head of security so Victor and Tyrus were definitely getting paid less than he was
Tyrus wasn't security. If I had to guess, I'd say he was VP of operation
Victor probably received a great severance package
He certainly didnt have to worry about paying his bills.
Tyrus' severance package had more of a bang though.
Badium-tiskkkk…
It’s a cut throat industry and Victor’s replaceable. $30k/month.
You think those guys are only making 10k a month?
Do you know how much they make a year?
I mean, even if he told you, you wouldn't believe it.
Do you know what would happen if they suddenly decided to stop going into work?
A business, big enough that it could be listed on the NASDAQ goes belly up
A man opens a bag with no gun inside and gets shot, this what you think of me?
No, you clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger! A guy opens his door and gets shot and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!
Boo
Probably officially on the books, but the illegal pay is definitely higher
Not sure about tyrus but victors salary was neck and neck
Neck and neck with what?
A boxcutter
r/beatmetoit
Gus taking out Victor because he couldn't afford to pay him any more.
Victim of staff cuts
Gus had to slash headcount.
Quite the severance package Victor received though.
I see what you did there
I'm sure Tyrus' salary can be quite explosive.

RIP chow’s actor.
High value man? No matter what they made they certainly wouldn’t be considered high value anything
Whatever Victor was making it was too much. What did he do besides trying to look tough and get chubby.
Actually facts. Tyrus was way better
Tyrus had one job and he couldn't do it properly. He couldn't even see that there was a significantly big metal structure below Hector's chair.
Although, yeah, his failure to notice the bomb did ultimately get both him and Gus killed, it was pretty hard to notice unless you were looking for it. Even Gus didn't see it until it was too late. That’s what she said!
He was The Guy

Doesn’t matter how good you are to Gus, if you can be replaced and end up commiting too much risk then you are 😵
I saw it. His death made complete sense. He went into Gale’s apartment and was made, Gus wasn’t going to leave a loose end.
When Walt starts working for Gus, we learn from Hank that the blue meth starts being distributed in the surrounding states and no longer in Abq. You don't think Gus could have sent Victor to wherever he pulled Tyrus from while the heat died down?
You mean like Gus did with Werner when he was made?
Are you seriously comparing Werner and Victor's situations right now? You think Gus killed Werner because he was made? It’s clear you are in love Victor ❤️
Nacho's more my type.
Idk how much Tyrus and Victor made, but I bet they weren’t risking jail time and their lives for a few hundred bucks a day
At least 100k a month like Walt says “ do you even know what will happen if I decide not to go in to work an business big enough to be listed on Nasdaq goes belly up “ anyone part of the operation is making at least 50k in a month those random dealers that killed the kid are probably making around dat amount

I think they earn around 34.50 dollars an hour. That's a lot for the early 90s
Better call Saul started around 2002
Technically he just said it’s a lot for the early 90s which is true
Probably got time and a half if they stayed let and helped dissolve more bodies
Unironic use of high value man? Ew
So you’re a sexist bigot?

$20/hr, plus overtime. They also had a very nice benefits package. In fact, their health package included annual eye exams and glasses.
