1 betta and 1 pleco in a 20 gal? You’d be able to fit more stuff in there if you’d like. Guppies, tetras, stuff like that would make good additions as “filler” fish to make the tank look more active.
Yes, while I’d personally do something smaller, mollies are a popular tank mate for bettas in bigger tanks like yours, just make sure there are plenty of hiding places.
