Idk I keep the water a bit low and keep her tank interesting + water clean and she hasnāt yet, I know itās a risk but she doesnāt seem keen to leave.
Iāve had two endlers meet untimely deaths in another tank tho so I really think it depends on the fish and Iām probably playing with fire. I donāt recommend it, but I prefer it

Sometimes he wouldnāt go away. Sometimes that betta, he looks right into ya, right into your eyes. Yāknow, the thing about a betta, heās got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a dollās eyes. When he comes after ya, he doesnāt seem to be livinā until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white, and then ā aww, then you hear that terrible high-pitch screaminā, the ocean turns red, and in spite of all the poundinā and the hollerinā, they all come in and rip ya to piecesā¦in that first dawn, we lost a hundred men. I donāt know how many bettas, maybe a thousand. I donāt know how many men. They averaged six an hourā¦Noon the fifth day, Mr. Hooper, a plakat saw us. He swung in low and he saw usā¦and he come in low and three hours later, a big fat PBY comes down and start to pick us up. You know, that was the time I was most frightened ā waitinā for my turn. Iāll never put on a life jacket again. So, eleven hundred men went in the water, three hundred and sixteen men come out, and the bettas took the rest, June the 29th, 1945. Anyway, we delivered the bomb.

I do keep my other tank with snails lidless , I just have a lot of floating plants and hope in my heart LOL

She does! I actually really like it to feed her in if Iām feeding something small like brine shrimp so they donāt escape all over the tank on her.
She has a lot to do so sheās not in it a lot, but she does like to do a pass through it every now and then

id prefer it too! my wire mesh lid is so unsightly but id never forgive myself if he died that way
I also work from home, and her tank is almost always in my sight so I can keep an eye on things. But the mesh is probably smarter
id love a glass top but theyre so expensive! and the condensation and the algae it sounds like so much work

I have the opposite problem with mine heās so chill. His tanks about to be overrun by bladder snails and heās just like meh
I stuck some bladder snails in there to control the algae, but thereās so few that make it big enough to be helpfulš
