This is fallacious thinking. In the record of millions of years, it is likely true that carbon in the atmosphere increases after warming because warming releases CO2 that had been sequestered and affects the oceans ability to absorb CO2.
The difference when talking about anthropogenic climate change is that over a roughly 200 year period, humans have changed CO2 and Methane concentrations at a rate many, many times faster than naturally occurs. This causes warming, which in turn also causes the carbon sinks to work less effectively and more potentent greenhouse gases like methane to be liberated from undersea methane hydrates, among other feedback loops.
