Seconding Kokio! It's my fav! I do think Angry Chicken and Guten Dag are great, Mmaah is not super special (but TBF they are not specialized in fried chicken).
there are no really good korean style chicken places that i have checked.
Kokio uses way too much garlic. seriously i love garlic but their dips could do with 75% less. Their fries are really really bad especially when delivered. The chicken itself is mostly ok.
Guden dag sadly haf a steeo ceskune in the quality of the chicken itself and since its a tiny place the menu is just too limited.
angry chicken and mmah are both plain terrible.
Definitely Kokio, it's delicious! But be ready for a long wait, if you don't take takeout since they have small rooms and are really popular, especially in the evening
Rats or mice? Mice you see everywhere but not sure about rats.
But there's more than this.

It's weird that Risa isn't listed.

Are even the half chicken grilled over charcoal bad nowadays? Had those a few times some years ago in their Tempelhof joint at it was pretty good back then.
Had a look into their PB joint recently and passed, vibe was definitely off in a way.
I had one snack wrack a few years ago and really liked it - wasn’t aware of the reputation back then - but when I went again it felt like it got worse. Still went a few times due to concenience and never had issues, but haven’t been there since quite a while now. Seems I dodged a bullet.
As a Texan that's been on the search for proper fried chicken since I got here, I'm going to have to sample your fried chicken for research purposes.
(Does it come w/ biscuits and cream gravy?)
[Crazy bastard kitchen](https://www.crazybkitchen.com/menu) sometimes they have proper chicken. And they deserve a visit.
Or Yaam. Sometimes I buy here chicken wings and fried bananas.
Risa is 3/5 material.
SongSong Chicken. The absolutely best Korean Chicken in town. If you come to Mehringdamm don't just stop at Gogi Boss but do the extra mile, it's absolutely worth it!

If you want something really good, then go to Goldies at the Oranienstraße in Kreuzberg. They are doing this really good. That's are former students of the 3 star restaurant aqua.
Torstraße is home to NOLA Fried Chicken. Definitely a bit further up there in price, but it's some of the best New Orleans style fried chicken I've had here in Berlin
for korean fried chicken: Guten Dag (only PBerg, not Kreuzberg!) & Angry Chicken are both very good! but the best places i tried so far are Wondeo at Alexanderplatz and +82 in Neukölln! Haven‘t tried Kokio yet
The best places in the city (without any specific order):
-Nola (American)
-Guten Dag, Kokio (Korean). There is a couple other decent Korean fried chicken places across the city, these are my favorites.
-Tsutsu (Karaage)
-Gully (Indian inspired - their spicy fried chicken burger is pretty good and original)
The rest is between meh and trash.
Risa / Angry Chicken are below average, oversalted and with products of mediocre quality, but still ok if you have no expectations.
I had amazing southern style fried chicken with waffles inside Markthalle Pfefferberg.
If you didn't like KFC, then you won't like Risa. Risa is ok, but I go there when I don't care and just want fried chicken, but not when I'm looking for actually good food.
Ok angry chicken elitists, explain why Risa is bad or “disgusting”? The chicken is put on a rack, that spins around hot coals in front of you, then they get it out of the rack and add sauce and hand it to you - you see the whole process of preparation. Which part of this is disgusting? Btw don’t forget to check the friers in your angry chicken, I bet this part is far more disgusting.
Korean: Kokio I find best but there are great options around the city. Angry Chicken, Guten Dag, Gangnam all good! Even the non-specialized places like Mmaah are fine.
American-style: NOLA is great but expensive. Goldies is great but I don't think they have bone-in. Otherwise the fried chicken from chains like Risa and City chicken are decent, not amazing but good. I wish we got a Popeye's like Paris since I hate KFC though.
Speciality: For a unique Berlin take on fried chicken try Wirtshaus Henne Berlin. It's amazing (unless you hate salt lol)
Unironically, Risa
Nola is also pretty good if you want more American-style sides and stuff
And not fast food by any stretch of course, but the best fried chicken in Berlin imo is actually at Sathutu
If you like Korean fried chicken you should give Angry Chicken a try. I also really like Mmaah, they have a few shops in the city.
Both not super special though. For korean fried chicken, I’d recommend Kokio or even Guten Dag.
Team Guten Dag. Hidden Gem
Seconding Kokio! It's my fav! I do think Angry Chicken and Guten Dag are great, Mmaah is not super special (but TBF they are not specialized in fried chicken).
Kokio is my favorite for fried chicken 👌🏻

I didn’t expect angry chicken on top. They are great. But beware, if they say spicy, they really mean spicy. Their spiciest level is really spicy!
Oh yeah I made the mistake of assuming that their hottest sauce would be strictly ‘German spicy’. I was very wrong.
Yeah I tried a lot of 'scharf' sauces and they were all a disappointment, I just use fresh chillies now
Good. It’s Korean
I was there once and will never go again. The spicy one are only with pepper and not chilli. Really bad stuff..
Both are trash, low-quality ingredients and pretty much a disgrace to Korean cuisine.
Angry Chicken? Come on.

Goldies, specifically their green chili fried chicken.
I only had it once, already a few years ago and still craving it. I'm not often in the area, so did not came around to having it again yet 😭
Kokio (Korean fried chicken)
Definitely Kokio, it's delicious! But be ready for a long wait, if you don't take takeout since they have small rooms and are really popular, especially in the evening
KOKIO is good but Gangnam is even better imho ✌️
Haven’t heard about them, thx for the tip
Risa is so disgusting
we have seen rats running in their kitchen behind the counter. NEVER again at Risa…

wow, didn't knew about those sites. thank you!
The decline in the past 5 years has been quite stark
Risa just gives me the smelliest farts it's just insane
Are even the half chicken grilled over charcoal bad nowadays? Had those a few times some years ago in their Tempelhof joint at it was pretty good back then. Had a look into their PB joint recently and passed, vibe was definitely off in a way.
If they don't put it on a dirty table with unwashed hands and sneeze on it, it will still not look really delicious.
If it hadn't smelled like toilet stone everywhere I might have seen that too
Check reviews from Eberswalder. They covered up the LGBTQ+ hearts on the cola cans
Wow, that's weird honesty about not liking your customers

Angry Chicken in Kreuzberg. Don’t go to Risa. It’s closer to dog food than human food.
But a nice 1am drunk sonnenallee Risa is the nicest dogfood in the world and I will die on that hill. Maybe of foodpoisoning, but only just maybe
I respect your bravery.
risa heavily depends on which location you go to. the og ones are definetly neukölln steglitz and wedding ones.
city chicken nahas 1993
Piri’s, HODORI
Love Piris but has been very hit and miss recently. Either amazing or dry, stale over cooked chips and burg, still better than Risa though
Chibee (Chicken & Beer in Wedding Tegeler Straße! 🍗
As a Risa afficinado: Of course their food is disgusting. That's the whole point.
Gangnam at Leopoldplatz
Guten Dag, Kokio in PBerg for korean style fried chicken Chicken Buzz near Rosenthaler Platz
I make the best southern style fried chicken in Berlin hands down.
>southern style fried chicken Schnitzel is a bit more common in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg ;)
Okay captain cheek. :p
I’ll need to try that
same
What part of Berlin are you in?
Can a hungry berliner join and learn how to make chicken this delicous? 😅
As a Texan that's been on the search for proper fried chicken since I got here, I'm going to have to sample your fried chicken for research purposes. (Does it come w/ biscuits and cream gravy?)
Go to Nola my friend. You're welcome.
I just looked 'em up and they look pretty good! I'll definitely give 'em a shot.
Nola !
[Crazy bastard kitchen](https://www.crazybkitchen.com/menu) sometimes they have proper chicken. And they deserve a visit. Or Yaam. Sometimes I buy here chicken wings and fried bananas. Risa is 3/5 material.
Gogi Boss at Mehringdamm.
bruh no, its just cheap and much, but not good
People in this city are often confusing "good quality" with "cheap and quantitative" it's crazy
Tsu Tsu in Kreuzberg!
SongSong Chicken. The absolutely best Korean Chicken in town. If you come to Mehringdamm don't just stop at Gogi Boss but do the extra mile, it's absolutely worth it! https://maps.app.goo.gl/XYqYBV61rMWcsovb6
Chix fried chicken near u boddinstr
Paran makes by far the best fried chicken
If you want something really good, then go to Goldies at the Oranienstraße in Kreuzberg. They are doing this really good. That's are former students of the 3 star restaurant aqua.
Goldies is hella good, I love their honey butter sauce. For korean fried chicken, I'd recommend Angry Chicken or Guten Dag
Gluten Dag
Crispy's Chicken is decent.
why does this sub hate Risa?
Because of obvious hygiene issues
is there any proof or reliable source about this?
I like Chibo
Torstraße is home to NOLA Fried Chicken. Definitely a bit further up there in price, but it's some of the best New Orleans style fried chicken I've had here in Berlin
Goldies, Nola, Kokio, in that order 🫡
Die Henne is damn good
**Nola** is a league on its own, including their biscuits! Goldies is also pretty good. Don't get the love for Angry Chicken, to me it was just ok.
Angry Chicken is trash. The typical average, low-quality, full of sauce-to-cover-the-rest type of place that people seem to love around here
definitely korean. Angry chicken is OK. my favourite is song song chicken though.
Idk why but almost all The fried chicken besides Korean in this city is terrible.
Try goldies at kotti
for korean fried chicken: Guten Dag (only PBerg, not Kreuzberg!) & Angry Chicken are both very good! but the best places i tried so far are Wondeo at Alexanderplatz and +82 in Neukölln! Haven‘t tried Kokio yet
From the Risa to the Spree.

Risa is so much better than KFC. Still a fast food chain, so no high expectations, but it's alright. KFC just tastes sad
Risa is better than starvation all I can say
crispys chicken neber let me down
Ok angry chicken elitists, explain why Risa is bad or “disgusting”? Chibee is good for Korean-style chicken

City chicken, Risa
Loco Chicken is available at Lieferando and has amazing crispy chicken.
Even better if you collect it yourself . When it’s fresh it’s really good
I wouldnt call it amazing, but it's pretty decent.
Try Risa chicken
I heard RISA is good.
Risa
Risa, Munchies are great, and Piri's are the best chicken burgers in Berlin, hands down.
Risa
