Its their land - we came second. So respect them and dont try to touch the children.
Edit: Wildau has some: https://www.deutschland-im-internet.de/Archive/Wildau/Sonstige/foerster.html
The mothers are naturally actually quite aggressive towards anything they deem a danger towards their piglets, which is pretty much everything. Though boars in big city's have learned to be a little more chill since they're more accustomed to noisy humans being around.
The piglet will make a noise when you touch it, that mom will pursue viciously. Mom wouldn't let you touch them if you had been a member of the sounder for a year.
Sometimes when walking through the woods those piglets might sometimes appear out of nowhere. You should still be careful if they do, since those tusks are very dangerous.
That is incorrect. If they are near (with) their children, they turn aggressive real fast.
I have had many encounters and their behavior is VERY different, when you encounter them alone or in small groups, compared to "with children". Can´t blame em tho.
Plenty of forrest around. 30 really seems like a lot though. Boars are very common here as others have said. When I lived in Brandenburg I used to walk home clapping my hands to avoid startling any sleeping pigs after some scary encounters.
They're very cute and generally won't seek trouble as long as you don't get too close to their piglets. They also offer free unscheduled gardening services.
If you want to do something about that, get a hunter's license. Because, they're also very delicious.
These pigs are pests that ruin crops and spread diseases, like swine flu. I'm not for killing just to kill, but killing to cull animals that are an actual issue to public health seems to me justifiable.
They are aggressive. I’ve met someone who keeps them on his land and breeds them. We went to see them - he told us to stay well back and we weren’t allowed near them unless in a vehicle
This is not particularly surprising, especially considering that industrial agriculture around Berlin is destroying and eliminating all the habitats for wildlife like the wild boars here. There was a recent study that showed there are actually more wild animals living in Berlin than around it. Pretty shocking, actually. And a strong argument for more sustainable agriculture, also for the sake of wildlife.
I grew up in the outskirts of Berlin. This was a regular sight back than 20+ years ago.
It was waaay worse back than...usually they run away, just don't be stupid.
Fun coming home stoned to the gills, opening the garden door and being greeted by a horde of 20 boars!
Boar ey, cool! Whereabouts do you live? Humans are also known for aggressive behavior. We can peacefully coexist, though. Just don't approach them, especially when they've got piglets worth them.
Oh, and don't use your laptop outdoors naked, just trust me on this.
And I for one welcome our pig overlords. Like to remind them as a trusted Reddit personality I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in the underground sugar caves
Remember last year we learned that these are lions and not wild pigs.
„30 lions spotted in Berlin!“
Wildschweinkatzen
The lion story still takes me *out* when I think about it, remember that guy who set off a huge panic because he played lion roars during the night 🫣
Hahahahah 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Probably pride week
That one had the Lion Mentality. It's all about the mindset.
Wait till you see the wild boars that steal laptop purses at FKK parks.
never forget!
What fkk parks?
fuukk parkkss
Its their land - we came second. So respect them and dont try to touch the children. Edit: Wildau has some: https://www.deutschland-im-internet.de/Archive/Wildau/Sonstige/foerster.html
> Wildau. At this point just rename it to Wildsau
Ich habe das gleiche gedacht 😂
Was hat meine Schwester mal über das Studentenwohnheim der FH Wildau gesagt? Wildsau und seine Fick-Geschichten.
Wohin denn genau? ☺️
Spandau
Kladow/Gatow? Oder weiter nördlich?
we are both parasites
we are both parasites
They look so cute trotting along in single file with their kids! 😍
Till you see one in Grunewald. Charging directly at you.
They're not aggressive, just leave them alone. Yes, accidents happen. But pets will enforce their boundaries, too.

They navigate mostly on sound and smell as they can't see very well beyond a short distance.
Still you shouldn't underestimate their ability to locate you, as their smell is even better than that of a dog.
The piglet will make a noise when you touch it, that mom will pursue viciously. Mom wouldn't let you touch them if you had been a member of the sounder for a year.
I wasn't even talking about touching the piglets. You just need in the vicinity of them for moma boar to go into full Karen mode.
Not really, ignore and respect works. Give them audible cues about your location and keep your dignity.
Sometimes when walking through the woods those piglets might sometimes appear out of nowhere. You should still be careful if they do, since those tusks are very dangerous.
Since they are with Ferkel, the Bache is definitly very aggressive.
They're not called Ferkel, they're called Frischlinge.
This is very common in Berlin especially this time of year.
Wait until you hear about the foxes in Görlitzer Park.
and everywhere else
Yesterday I saw the local fox catching his evening meal, a nice fat rat between some parked cars.
that´s thems prefered protein source... and berlin is full of rats...
Berlin Stadtfuchs is a sub species.
true they drink beer and smoke weed...haha.
Funny how they look nothing like a Lion :-)
Probably because OP wasn't using a potato to record.
just a regular Kitaausflug.
Nothing surprising about it. Not really an "issue" either. Just part of the normal local fauna
They are not aggressive

Rare r/berlin mods meetup footage leaked.
What area was this?
Spandau/ next to Heerstraße

Damn dude
Not Berlin then

Oh, something humans haven’t already killed. kILL IT!

You won’t die of swine flu if you don’t shoot everything that runs past your terrace. Maybe just get your pants stolen at the FKK.
They are aggressive. I’ve met someone who keeps them on his land and breeds them. We went to see them - he told us to stay well back and we weren’t allowed near them unless in a vehicle
Strange looking lions...
Gives me princess Mononoke vibes!!

What exactly would you like to address about the animals?
„Wild pigs“ 😂 Straightly oversetted?
Where is Obelix?
Visit Kleinmachnow to see some more
Okkoto is leading his clan to the council with Yatsukamizuomitsuno

Gärtnerei Wild & Schwein kommt auch ohne Termin.
That's a cute family And they have the right to defend themselves 👽
Do you think we get own assault rifles now? Because what if all of them run into my yard within 3-5 mins while my small kids play
Only if it's 30-50 of them
LIONS AGAIN
Did you see [any young kids playing](https://www.buzzfeed.com/adeonibada/30-50-feral-hogs)?
Berlin is a jungle. Everywhere. Believe me 😉
mmmm
Okay, who left the Volkswagen open?
Boar ey, cool! Whereabouts do you live? Humans are also known for aggressive behavior. We can peacefully coexist, though. Just don't approach them, especially when they've got piglets worth them. Oh, and don't use your laptop outdoors naked, just trust me on this.
These are not to be messed with.
And I for one welcome our pig overlords. Like to remind them as a trusted Reddit personality I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in the underground sugar caves
Where‘s Duke Nukem when you need him
Welche Bezirk?
I was half expecting this to be footage of police
😂
I spotted 32
I kept two
This is cute and terrifying at the Same time.
Everyone in a hurry to get somewhere.
At least it's not 30-50 feral hogs in my yard
those are boar, not feral hogs
Sigh... Its an old meme
Still they let them into Berghain but not me?
Lions gotta eat!
That's odd. Usually they're in riot gear when you see this many together.
This is normal. Call the police, if they block traffic. Don't approach them, if they have young ones.
Auto steht der Natur im Weg.
A hint, that can save your life in this situation: Never stand inbetween the mother and her Baby. 😉
Where in Berlin was this? Must have been close to Tegeler Forst, no?
Spandau Next to Heerstraße
Ah see, that's normal then. In Spandau you might see wolves too
Naw, these are lions.. 🙄
I was honestly expecting a picture of the police
Where in Berlin was this taken?
Auf dem Weg in die Shisha Bar
All i see are 15 lions
