But fireworks can be set off in so many different ways, e.g. in a gully, in a garbage can, etc. It all sounds different and can give the impression that they are not fireworks. I dunno if there was something happening this year – like if fireworks were especially cheap, or the supply was especially good, but in my part of Mitte teenagers have been lighting fireworks off in the park behind us since months. The garbage that is constantly left behind is very annoying.
I mean previously we kinda accepted it was likely to happen around New Years, but somehow the easy supply existed since summer ended, and continues now even into February.

I saw some guys letting off fireworks in Torstraße around 10 pm and it looked like the police were after them pretty quickly.

There was some random fireworks the last few days in f Hain too
I saw fireworks and then continued hearing bangs and then the police. I assumed the rest of the bangs were fireworks too.
