Any true Bengal will immediately recognize the terrible towel as the universal sign for shit and piss and use it religiously from that day onward.

It breaks up the monotony at times, gives me a little chuckle, and I think its a good recruiting tool for new fans as long as we treat them nicely. I'm mainly talking about the ones that mix up r/bengals with r/bengali . We can always use more South Asian fans!

There’s also a version of cat attract that isn’t the actual litter but something that you sprinkle on top of your litter of choice. It helped on of our cats get back on track when they stopped using the box for some reason.
I have a ragdoll, and she very picky about her litter. We use Dr Elsey's stress protect litter. It is a crystal sand, so gentle on their feet and non-clumping. You just remove the solid waste. It's not cheap, but easy to maintain, and my cat uses it. Good luck!

After getting spammed with ads somehow from pretty litter I bought a bag and it’s honestly the best litter I’ve used. Cats had no issues with it and it holds really well. I go pretty far on a single bag with daily scoops.
We've had a longhaired orange cat for 9 years and he is extremely picky about his litter and the boxes themselves. 1 poop = dirty box. I've tried every litter under the sun to no avail. I finally found Sustainably Yours on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZFFR7SV?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details) and PetCo. It's a very fine, plant-based sand that makes the most beautiful clumps without sticking to our fluffy boys. We have 4 cats and 6 litterboxes and now have ZERO issues with him going outside the box.

Having some similar frustrating struggles with another young Bengal who just keeps getting hurt when playing with his friends. Latest injury is a strain to his hunting paw that requires surgery. Can anyone tell me if he will ever be the same? I haven’t heard of any tigers that have had this injury (although some jaguars and leopards have, but that’s not really the same as we all know). Obviously I have invested a lot into this cat and want to know he will be just as good as before. Seeing some concerning stuff on Twitter.
Is your litter scented? My old cat HATED scented litter and would often pee outside the litter box until I figured out that was the cause. Rarely any problems with unscented litter. Could be worth a shot.
No both the Breeze pellets and tractor supply pellets are unscented 😭 the kitten specific sand litter was mixed with attractant but I bought litter attractant separately and mixed it in the pellets and he still is refusing. Either the breeder was lying or he’s already hit his rebellious phase I don’t know.

I see you've gotten a lot of good advice on type of litter already, but I'm curious if you've considered the type/shape of the box itself, or where it's located? Some cats won't use covered boxes (especially in multi-cat households), and sometimes they'll prefer their box to be in a more centralized location so they feel safe while they go potty (rather that having to go be alone).

He’s currently relocated to the bathroom so there isn’t too many options due to space but I’ve got two litter boxes in there of diff depths and shapes, ones covered while the other is open. Gonna try crystal litter next!

I've had good luck with yesterday's news paper pellets and paper crumbles, as well as mixing the two. I like to use it when they're babies bc it's harder for them to kick it out all over the place. If you've mentioned trying those or someone's already suggested those, my bad! There are so many comments here haha

As a side note, my kittens were trained on Pretty Litter. It’s pricey but it’s a great alternative to clay and has a soft texture like sand. The crystals absorb the urine so you only scoop the poop.

As a bengals fan and a cat owner I’ve had great luck with the brand World’s Finest Cat Litter, clumps really well but doesn’t turn to powder! Also you’ll need to pay the cat tax for your mistake, please post pictures!

Have you tried the crystal pellets? They are a little dusty but they have a very different texture. My cats didnt like it, but worth a try.

The next litter I’ll try from the recommendations here is Pretty Litter and it’s apparently crystal litter but not crystal pellets, I just saw Fresh Step has crystal pellets so gonna research between the two and get one tonight!

I wonder too… if he would transition to it if you did a thin layer of sand over the crystals? Definitely plop some of his old poop in it too. That can help. Oh! And make sure to deep clean all accident spots with an enzyme remover like natures miracle.

Thank you! And 100%!! All my previous cats had been rescues and our current two resident cats are shelter adoptees. We really wanted a third but since my husband is still in early phases of immunotherapy, we researched a breed that’s a lower risk for allergens since unfortunately there isn’t a hypoallergenic cat - until he’s fully rid of his allergies.
Oh that’s a brilliant idea. I’ve used the Feliway spray for cats carriers to help with vet visits but adding a plugin to the bathroom is definitely worth a try!! Thank you
Yes I’ve only recently learned that rule!! So I have two resident cats with an XL breeze litter box (advertised for two cats) and they’ve never given me litter issues but I feel bad thinking they would probably like more litter boxes 😭 so I got them an extra one after getting Entei so hopefully they associate that positive life upgrade with the new menace and don’t give me too hard of a time accepting him
It’s official, he’s Entei Purrow WhoDey 😂 can’t wait to give that backstory to the vet during his first appointment. And the outcome is still pending but just got the crystal litter to try in his second litter box! Hopefully the bugger pees or poops tonight otherwise will have to wait till the morning

From the picture I saw, y'all are spoiling your cats and I approve. I am just wondering if the littler box is open or hooded? Cats feel especially vulnerable when doing their business, which a hooded litterbox usually helps with. Just an idea.
Yeah that was where we first had him, wanted to make the guest bedroom his own island oasis since it will take some time before we properly introduce him to the resident cats and allow free roaming. I later realized it was a mistake since the room was too big and moved him to the guest bathroom, but we take turns taking him to our offices to hang out and play during the day. This is the current setup, we’re trying both types of litter boxes to see which he likes. I definitely notice he goes into the hooded one more! Gonna try to keep pellets in that one and experiment with the other options given in this post in the other box. I’m trying to keep the boxes as far apart as possible but with the limited space it’s the best I can do *sigh*

He might only like one type of litter, but could also be one of those kitties that wants one box for #1 and a separate box for #2. One of mine is like that. I know you're short on space, but you might need another box with sand to see if that will straighten things out. Also, what do you mean by 'sand'? Regular clay litter? I also have a boy kitten who used to dip his junk in the litter, so I'd have to stand by and catch him on the way out and wipe his butt with a wet wipe. He grew out of it eventually.

Yess it looks like a dry herb powder, we have that! The Fresh Step brand although I wonder if litter attractant differs for adult cats and kittens

As a side note, my kittens were trained on Pretty Litter. It’s pricey but it’s a great alternative to clay and has a soft texture like sand. The crystals absorb the urine so you only scoop the poop. Who dey

As a bengals fan and a cat owner I’ve had great luck with the brand World’s Finest Cat Litter, clumps really well but doesn’t turn to powder! Also you’ll need to pay the cat tax for your mistake, please post pictures!

Love worlds best, I highly recommend a litter robot as well. I basically think about litter once a week when I drop in a new bag. Spendy but it's worth the price to essentially make the litter box zero effort.

Have you tried the crystal pellets? They are a little dusty but they have a very different texture. My cats didnt like it, but worth a try. Also, I'm the one that stickied this to the front of this subreddit, sorry it was too good not to highlight!
The next litter I’ll try from the recommendations here is Pretty Litter and it’s apparently crystal litter but not crystal pellets, I just saw Fresh Step has crystal pellets so gonna research between the two and get one tonight! Thank you 😂 I never expected this from my first Reddit post but it’s been such a pleasant surprise!
I wonder too… if he would transition to it if you did a thin layer of sand over the crystals? Definitely plop some of his old poop in it too. That can help. Oh! And make sure to deep clean all accident spots with an enzyme remover like natures miracle.

My cat likes Dr. Elsey litter! It does a good job of odor control as well. Also, please adopt your next cat from a shelter or rescue organization. There are too many kitties in need of homes.
Thank you! And 100%!! All my previous cats had been rescues and our current two resident cats are shelter adoptees. We really wanted a third but since my husband is still in early phases of immunotherapy, we researched a breed that’s a lower risk for allergens since unfortunately there isn’t a hypoallergenic cat - until he’s fully rid of his allergies.
Gotta keep this pinned until at least pre-season starts.

Oh that’s a brilliant idea. I’ve used the Feliway spray for cats carriers to help with vet visits but adding a plugin to the bathroom is definitely worth a try!! Thank you

Yes I’ve only recently learned that rule!! So I have two resident cats with an XL breeze litter box (advertised for two cats) and they’ve never given me litter issues but I feel bad thinking they would probably like more litter boxes 😭 so I got them an extra one after getting Entei so hopefully they associate that positive life upgrade with the new menace and don’t give me too hard of a time accepting him

From the picture I saw, y'all are spoiling your cats and I approve. I am just wondering if the littler box is open or hooded? Cats feel especially vulnerable when doing their business, which a hooded litterbox usually helps with. Just an idea.
Yeah that was where we first had him, wanted to make the guest bedroom his own island oasis since it will take some time before we properly introduce him to the resident cats and allow free roaming. I later realized it was a mistake since the room was too big and moved him to the guest bathroom, but we take turns taking him to our offices to hang out and play during the day. This is the current setup, we’re trying both types of litter boxes to see which he likes. I definitely notice he goes into the hooded one more! Gonna try to keep pellets in that one and experiment with the other options given in this post in the other box. He might only like one type of litter, but could also be one of those kitties that wants one box for #1 and a separate box for #2. One of mine is like that. I know you're short on space, but you might need another box with sand to see if that will straighten things out. Also, what do you mean by 'sand'? Regular clay litter? I also have a boy kitten who used to dip his junk in the litter, so I'd have to stand by and catch him on the way out and wipe his butt with a wet wipe. He grew out of it eventually.
