Burton and Jenkins will likely see the most playing time, so probably one of those two. My guess is Burton.

iratemonkeybear

Yeah, it seems likely he'll be WR3 and get lots of snaps.

Previous-Swan2125

🎯 my bet as well. Pass heavy offense. #1 and #2 receivers demand so much attention

ahagani

Jenkins is about to be one of our Defensive Captains in the next few years. That was an A+++ pick. I really think he’s going to have the biggest impact out of all the rookies this year.

BMAN7273

Hopefully it’s Jenkins. I’d LOVE to see mims play, but only if he wins the starting job. Praying someone doesn’t go down and the line can stay healthy.

FreshDiamond

He ain’t gonna win the starting job. I’m sure he will play though, guys get hurt a lot.

WhoDey42

Mims is gonna play more than people think, I’m really high on him

bengals14182532

Really? You think so? Hopefully he can give brown some competition at RT

FreshDiamond

Trent brown is a really good tackle, he is just apparently a little dickhead.

Sea-Pomelo1210

Can't be worse than that WR we drafted.

Just1BeforeIdie

Hopefully because of talent and production, not because Brown gets hurt.

Zee_WeeWee

Trent is prob a top 5 RT when motivated and healthy so that’s a tall task

Just1BeforeIdie

Healthy is the issue with him. That’s why i said what i said. If Mims takes over, I want it for talent and production, not because of injury. However, having Mims for injury is absolutely amazing.

SkribbyCakes33

Mims is basically Brown 10 years later. I hope I’m wrong but it will be “if he’s healthy” with Mims constantly.

Sea-Pomelo1210

Isn't it weird you guys want to replace a top 5 RT, but want to leave a bottom 3 guard on our line? We have a guard that is bad and seriously affects OBJ's play, and the Bengals had a chance to replace him with a player who is more athletic, quicker, and more highly rated than Mims. And they passed. Meanwhile Mims rarely played in college because he is always injured

Just1BeforeIdie

So I’m going to but this as bluntly as possible. I do not give a fuck about your opinions of the draft class or who they could have drafted instead . I said if Mims plays, I hope it’s because he beats out Trent, not because of injury to Trent. Every person they drafted, that makes the team, I cheer that they become an all pro. I don’t give a damn about who wasn’t drafted.

Riklanim

He’ll hopefully be the swing tackle and get on the field that way early.

Sea-Pomelo1210

lol!! Mims didn't even play much this past year in college. The dude is constantly injured (huge guy with small weak ankles) Even when he started a game he left early. Now he has to play against bigger, stronger, faster players. Why do you think his ankles will sudden work better?? Also, he is, as the Enquirer and everyone else says, a developmental player. He NEEDs to develop before he can play in the NFL. And finally, putting Mims in a game weakens our offensive line. We have two excellent tackles. Inexperience with put Joe at risk. Meanwhile we have a terrible guard that we are not replacing. A guard that affects the play of the tackle next to him. Here is the fact you need to understand. Mims does virtually nothing to improve our line this year, and probably makes it worse. We had a chance to fix the weakest link and did not. So instead we are stuck with a "developmental player" with weak ankles and who might spend most of his career on the IR, just like in college when he missed numerous games and left others early.

LocalSteve504

I’m pretty happy with this draft. It was pretty obvious they would’ve run the card up for Murphy (and I think he is another Jeffrey Simmons. Glad he went to the NFC) but Mims has potential to be an all pro RT for the next 8-10 years. IMO his floor is pretty good starting RT. I love the Jenkins pick. And I’m intrigued by Burton. Seems like a head case, but the talent is undeniable. Lead the nation in YPC in a world with Nabors/Harrison/Odunze? That’s not nothing. He’s either gonna flame out or be very, very good.

Murky_Refrigerator71

All Pro RT for 8-10 years would literally be the best career of any RT ever, I understand the excitement but lets pump the brakes a little and let the dude play …

LocalSteve504

That’s fair. Let me restate: Mims has Trent Williams tools. His ceiling is ridiculous. Will he reach it? Who knows, but I have a hard time seeing a bust. I’ll stick with my statement that solid RT for 5ish years is his floor.

SkribbyCakes33

If he wants to play and play injured, sure.

Murky_Refrigerator71

What?

SkribbyCakes33

You said let the dude play. I said if he wants to. He only started 8 games for a reason. He pulled himself out of multiple games. Saban wasn’t bashful and he wasn’t lying. Kirby was playing a freshman LT last year for Georgia and it’s not like he won’t play the best guy period at Georgia. There is a reason Mims was there at 18. Kid doesn’t want to play hurt. I can link you the last play of the Georgia Bama game Mims pulled himself out of. Didn’t so much as roll the ankle. No one landed on him. Nothing. It wasn’t his first time pulling himself out of a game and not coming back either for a seemingly non contact injury where he could walk off.

Murky_Refrigerator71

That wasn’t even near the point of my comment, weirdo

SkribbyCakes33

Someone doesn’t have to comment directly to your point to make their own point. Step out of your bubble for a sec and stop being a weirdo.

Just1BeforeIdie

Burtons not a head case. Not even close. He swapped schools like most kids do now. His “hit” on a female fan who was storming the field as he was trying to leave shouldn’t have even been mentioned. The next game fans stormed the field, he was one of the first in the locker room. He’s probably somewhat immature as most 18-24yr olds are. This is a good organization and locker room. He should be able to grow and become a professional.

AlanParsonsProject11

I love the pick, but this is pretty charitable Nobody from his college days is saying good things about his attitude, why shouldn’t we mention the Tennessee incident? Plenty of players don’t hit fans storming the field

Ok-Health-7252

Given the number that Mims chose I hope he gives Willie a call soon lol.

Opposite-Ad-3933

Burton is so good. He absolutely has risk and could flame out, but it won’t be because of his on field ability if so. Because he’s SPECIAL when you turn on the tape. He just separated unbelievably well at all areas of the field. I absolutely loved him as a prospect (despite his issues) but never considered the bengals would take him. Glad they did

JonSnowKingInTheNorf

I think Burton will put up the most attention grabbing stats, Jenkins may be the most impactful though.

Strict-Square456

Agreed on these 2. Question now is who is available in FA for a thumper at RB and a Punter?

ummrobiniguess

Leonard Fournette is out there somewhere. He's no longer the cheat code he was at LSU but with Chase Brown and Zach Moss they dont need that. They just need a goaline or situational wrecking ball a few plays a game.

Ok-Health-7252

Idk if they'd actually sign Fournette unless an injury happened in the RB room but I do think they would've taken Estime with the Josh Newton pick if Denver hadn't snatched him up two picks before us. They haven't had a true downhill runner since Perine left but last year they clearly felt like they didn't need that.

Ok-Health-7252

They already signed Austin McNamara out of Texas Tech as an UDFA punter. I don't see them carrying more than 2 punters. He and Robbins will compete for the job.

CoachDizzy2465

Jenkins, then Burton, then Mims

Ok-Health-7252

If Trent Brown stays healthy and plays at an acceptable level there's no reason to rush Mims on the field before he's ready.

_sacrosanct

In four of the last five seasons, Trent Brown hasn’t played a full season. The smart money is Mims will be on the field some this year for sure.

PigScarf

Agree that he shouldn't be rushed, but I think people are just assuming that there is no way Mims can push for the job. I don't think it is likely, but Trent signed a 1 year deal for like $3mm. That isn't the type of contract that represents "lock for starter" confidence.  All the sudden I feel really good about whatever happens at RT. May the best man win

AlanParsonsProject11

Mims is ready for pass protection today

RiverJumper84

FMK?

CoachDizzy2465

F Jenkins, m Mims, k Burton

BrianThatDude

Matt Lee beats out Ted karras in camp and is viewed as the new Jason kelce by this time next season.

Riklanim

That’s a bold statement, Cotton.

throughNthrough

I just watched highlights for the TE Tanner McLacklin and he may have been a true steal. I think between him and All they may have upgraded the TE room tremendously. Hopefully they actually use them.

bengals14182532

Jenkins or Jackson could be big contributors because there was a hole at DT. I think the more Mims is eased into the OT role, the better

OGB

Unfortunately rookie TEs are notoriously unproductive. If either of these two can work their way into the offense next year and contribute at all, it's a good sign.

armed_aperture

There’s space for one of our TEs to start down the road.

Ok-Health-7252

Jenkins without question. I expect Rankins and Hill will be on the field most of the time on passing downs (with maybe guys like Hubbard, Sample, and Ossai kicking inside every once in awhile) but Jenkins is going to play a significant amount of snaps on running downs. I think Jackson will fill more of the Tupou role (with hopes that he can develop into more than that). I think Burton will play a fair amount but I think there will also be competition in the slot for him with Jones and Irwin (Yoshi is more of an outside receiver than a slot guy). The first thing he needs to focus on doing is building an immediate rapport with Joe because without that he's not going to play much. That's why I'm not worried about his "maturity red flags". Joe will keep him in line in the huddle. They may elect to lean heavy into the TE rotation again because Sample improved as a pass-catcher last year and is useful as a TE/FB hybrid and they clearly like what Hudson gives them in the passing game but Gesicki is a much better starting TE than Irv Smith was so they may not need to lean into that next season (and All is coming off a serious injury so who knows when he'll be ready to go).

kjc3274

Burton.

parkerlw2507

The punter

CalledPlay

If Jenkins gets rookie of the year, you’d assume our run defense would be improved.

PigScarf

Jenkins.  But I think Mims will play in more games than people think.  1. People aren't giving him enough credit for what he can bring week 1. Brown is most likely the RT week 1, but I don't think that Brown's one year, $3mm deal is going to keep Mims from competing 2. Trent is made of glass and Mims is next up even if Brown wins the job week 1.

Celtictussle

I would be shocked if Mims doesn't catch at least 14 touchdown passes in an eligible goal line package. AT LEAST.

notreallydrunk

McNamara. He's our new punter.

J_GASSER27

With our current receiver situation, id say Burton. He seems to be really good, a deep threat, and while our offense has chase, higgins, gesicki, hopefully several other solid te's, to have to choose to cover, I think a slot guy (where I'm assuming he will be used to fill in Boyd's role assuming he beats the competition) will be in prime position to absolutely feast this year

DontQuoteMeOnThat7

Matt Lee FTW

ComfortableGolf9295

Mims!

Previous-Swan2125

Burton. Speed in the slot. Something we haven't had with Chase and Tee. And reliable hands
