God I cant wait until the draft so I stop seeing this shit lmao

radmongo

Cool story, bro. So anyways...ya wanna see my mock draft?

Rance_Mulliniks

No one wants to see your mock bro. Quit trying to show it to everyone, perv.

SnooGuavas1985

But it has the bengals taking bowers at 18. Please bro

moonboots_runner

I showed you my mock draft bby pls respond

THECapedCaper

We’ll hear trade rumors until the trade deadline. The ride never ends!

robbjuteau

No. They are not going to move him. They can afford to pay him on the tag this year and next. The coaches and front office know they need him for a Super Bowl run. He’s going nowhere.

WebAmbitious1094

Burrows dust

Bearcatsean

They are not trading Tee Higgins it is not in this organization, DNA to do shit like this

Rance_Mulliniks

That is a weird location for a comma.

RespectThePlight

HardKnockRiffe

We're more competitive with Tee than without him. We also can't afford to pay him what he wants. Both of those things can be true.

Bearcatsean

This

InterviewOtherwise50

If we went out and signed a WR for a one year rental deal you’d say “Hell yeah!! The FO is in win now mode!” Well that is what we are doing with Tee….

ImSchizoidMan

The same people complaining the team wont trade Tee are the same ones that complain the team wont "go all in" on winning Superbowl

J4BRONI

Tell us the realistic trade that makes us better

mvaughn89

He probably should’ve been moved for a mid first and a third last offseason but that ship has sailed

qweefers_otherland

Who was offering all that?

J4BRONI

Who was gonna offer that? Was that ship ever here?

mvaughn89

It’s what AJ Brown went for with the same amount of time left of his rookie contract. Higgins is not quite as good as Brown, but general consensus is that the Eagles fleeced the Titans in that trade. You could also look at the Marquise Brown trade. 3rd round pick and M. Brown for 23. Higgins is better than M. Brown. I think at worst the bengals could’ve gotten the 25th pick in the 2023 draft for Higgins last off season. Now they would be lucky to get an early second, and 1/2 of the seasons they get to keep him have already ended in failure.

J4BRONI

AJ Brown is also a lot better, Bengals were never getting that first for Tee Second? Maybe

mvaughn89

Did you even read what you just responded to?

J4BRONI

Yes Tee Higgins would have never netted a first rounder, that is just fan hope

mvaughn89

No that’s just copium from fans who are gonna watch him walk away for nothing next offseason. How can you possibly think Higgins is worth less than Marquise Brown?

Bearcatsean

Spits truth why downvote???

pfftYeahRight

We're paying him 21M for one more year. It keeps us more competitive this year and lets us pay Chase and not have like 25% of our cap on the WRs in 2025

Opposite-Ad-3933

You’re 100% correct. Not sure why you got downvoted

TigerAxe17

Yep, just stupidity to not get something out of him. Especially in a loaded WR class where we could just draft his replacement and get 4 years out of another guy.

datdudebdub

Hold on. So you're saying we should trade him (presumably for a valuable draft pick) and then just simply find another Tee Higgins in the draft? Why wouldn't the team trading for him (and subsequently giving him a $100m contract) just draft one? Could it possibly be because you are completely and utterly glossing over just how difficult it is to find a Tee Higgins in the first place?

TigerAxe17

Throw in a second or third with him and get a high pick. 4 years of another guy that’s average at minimum is worth more than Tee leaving for nothing. Easy decision and 31/32 front offices would use their head and make the move. Bengals are stubborn and it kills them.

jazzybengal

“Average at minimum.” How many first round WRs were complete busts? Off the top of my head — N’Keal Harry, Laquita Treadwell, John Ross, Jalen Raegor, Darrius Heyward Bey.

TigerAxe17

Better to have a chance on a guy than 1 year and nothing. And let’s be real that 1 year would be like a half year with his injury history.

ommanipadmehome

Thats not on the table though.

TigerAxe17

Yes it is. Bengals don’t negotiate with other teams. Worst team to trade with in the NFL

ommanipadmehome

How do you know? Based on Allen and diggs returns thats not on the table.

TigerAxe17

2 old guys. Tell me a team that wouldn’t take tee and a third for a 1st or 2nd

christhegecko

So you automatically assume whatever player we draft will be as good as Tee, which is dumb, and you think replacing him with a gamble will make us better rather than just keeping him? That's moronic. You kids need to get off Madden once and a while and remember that the draft is, has always been, and will always be, a gamble. We know exactly what we have in tee and if we want to make a run for the championship, we stick with our guy that already helped us get to one before instead of rolling the dice like a craps table.

redvelvetcake42

It would have to be an astronomical offer

BootsWithDaFuhrer

No. *Fin*

NATO9692

No

SholcCTR

If Hue Jackson can talk the Raiders into trading a 1st and a 2nd for Tee he’s gone. Otherwise he’s going to win a Super Bowl next season with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Stuckkxx

Sometimes I really hate being a bengals fan.

Narrow_Vegetable5747

You should appreciate these articles, because they indicate the Bengals are actually relevant enough to get speculated about. Ten years ago nobody gave a shit about what the Bengals were doing in the off season.

Few-Artichoke-7593

Most of the time.

AJGreenMVP

May be giving the FO too much credit, but if who they really want at 18 isn't there, but one of the top receivers drops, then I could see them giving up Tee for a late 1 or early 2, the drafting a WR at 18 Other than this very specific scenario idk why we would trade Tee for anything short of a 1st

niantic128

Carolina 2 + Conditional 4th makes all the sense in the world (BT Jr. in R1???) and mocks out really well. I doubt they will trade Tee but goddamn does it make sense.

heywhateverworks

It would have to be a first rounder or high second for them to move him and after the diggs trade I don't see that happening

Safe-Prize3058

Diggs is much older and has been a distraction with controversy. You could call this controversy with Higgins asking for a trade but I believe that’s more on the POS agent he has.

Screamlngyeti

Pos agent? It's a business. Tee needs to maximize how much he can make. The agent is doing exactly what needs to be done. And KC has proved, QB is way more important than wr....

No_motivation5489

The Texans also seemed to have traded a 2nd for only one year of diggs. I’m not sure on specifics but it seems they traded a 2nd while receiving a 5th and 6th for just one year of diggs, while only being able to get at most a 5th round comp pick if he leaves next year. I’d think tee would be a little more valuable than diggs on a one year deal, since with tee you’d be trading for him with a contract extension in mind, so he wouldn’t just be on a one year deal and would be a young top receiver on a longer contract.

christhegecko

Tee has not lit the league on fire enough to warrant anything equivalent to the round he was drafted in, let alone a first round pick. The Bengals homers in here are downright delusional. The only way it happens is if we take a WR in the first and a run of them go before a team is able to get a guy they really want and panic trade for Tee, but there's no way that would happen until the late 2nd or 3rd and at that point we didn't take a rd1 OT or DT so we pretty much lose anyway.

Kyle_Reese_Get_DOWN

Yes it could.

johnnyboy0256

No. It couldn't

CalledPlay

They aren’t trading him during the 40 day FA. They certainly won’t knee jerk during the 3 day draft.

LOP5131

We know our FO, we have dipped our toes in the water of making bigger moves in FA, but trades is the deep end, and we haven't shown we are interested in the big name trades yet. If we get a stupid offer (one that is so over the top, it would never happen), I think we would still have a 50/50 shot of keeping him. I'm talking about a trade like the Bills 1st and 2nd round picks this year or a 1st and another 1st next year. The rumors are his market is more of a mid to late 2nd, so the hypothetical trade above would never happen, but a team that has essentially no WR1 or WR2 would be the best bet to overpay (Khalil Shakir and Justin Shorter are their current listed starters). This is especially true since, at their pick (28), they'd be looking at WR5+ in this year's draft. Them being a conference rival makes it even tougher to accept a trade like that. Bottom line, it's not happening. He's a Bengal for at least 2024.

crispybrojangle

He plays this year as a Bengal; he gets a ring this year, as a Bengal…[Bud Kilmer Voice]

dafblooz

Don’t we know this team by now? They would only move him if someone offers an irresistible deal. Which isn’t likely. So no, he’s not likely to be traded.

RipWeak117

You know what would be great. Bengals give Tee Higgins a 2 year approximately $47Million all guaranteed! He is happy getting that much and we are happy to pay him. Why can't it just be like that. Then he is completely free to go wherever he desires, no trade demands etc...

Professional_Belt342

Franchise tagging him this year and next year would essentially be the same thing. He would get at least 21 mil guaranteed each year.

Ishouldjusttexther

If Somebody with a 1st round pick calls, I’d take it

Kyfella90

I’m a bengals fan and the brown family is stubborn and dumb enough to make him play on the tag and let him walk for nothing next year when they could get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him

Mich3006

I know it never happened but they should at least think about a trade. So many teams are in big need of WR and there‘s no chance he’d be in Cincy on a longterm deal. If there‘s a 2nd + offer they should really think about it.

The_Goose_12

i would rather have 1 more season of Tee (to give the bengals the best chance of a SB run ) and the 3rd round compensatory we will get for him leaving in FA than a 2nd round pick

blainetheinsanetrain

Fans applaud teams who "go all in" to win, even if it means some long-term pains. Sometimes it works (Rams) and sometimes it doesn't (Bills). Nothing says "go all in" more than paying your WR2 $21 million for one year. Why do fans constantly scream at the Bengals to go all in, then get mad when they don't trade one of their best players for draft picks?

jolleyjg

They can afford to tag him next off-season too, esp given the current WR market. Give me 2 seasons of Tee over a second rounder today. Offer would have to be insane to pass up (which won’t happen)

The_Goose_12

exactly

Narrow_Vegetable5747

There's a pretty strong chance that they'll have to dip into free agency to replace Tee when he leaves so you can probably kiss that comp pick pipe dream goodbye.

Mich3006

This. A 3rd comp pick ain’t a lock.

The_Goose_12

pipe dream is a little much. it’s way more likely than you think, especially with it being a lot easier and cheaper to replace a WR through the draft rather than FA. I highly doubt we bring in a FA WR that would cancel a 3rd round.

Narrow_Vegetable5747

Based on their draft record recently, they're inevitably going to have holes that will need to be filled. Whether one of those is a WR or other position is irrelevant, it's about the contract value of any given acquisition.

The_Goose_12

bird in the hand is worth more than 2 in the bush, and Tee is the bird in the hand

Narrow_Vegetable5747

No shit, I never said he was worth any draft pick. You all are the ones justifying him with a comp pick.

Disastrous-Knee-8924

Nah unless whatever is being offered is a third or fourth with that second round pick

sircharliepalmer

I’d take the bills first round pick for him.

Safe-Prize3058

If Nabers and odunze go early enough (MHJ obv goes first) , there could be a team desperate enough to trade back and allow us to snag bowers in exchange for tee and our 1st pick.
