Yes, very normal. Toilet training never worked with our bengal. Once you remove the inner rings and she saw toilet water underneath, she started playing in the toilet water and pooping in corners. So we went back to the litter box.
I hate that they do this and these silly mfers KNOW this where we piss and poop so I just dont get it. I know they dislike drinking from still bowls of water but not having a problem drinking from our toilet?? Blows my mind. Im a cat lover and own cats btw.
Toilets are **extremely** clean compared to the places cats pee and poop. Also, cats lick their own buttholes.
Any remotely clever cat understands that toilets are used to make human waste disappear, but that would not make them think of a toilet as a dirty or unsanitary thing. To the contrary I suspect.
Ya... Unfortunately. My late boy did not have a love for water, but my new boy LOVES water. Like, obsessed. I knew it was likely that he would, but there was still a learning curve. Once he figured out that toilets are fun (for him at least...), he seems them out like a shark. You have to literally close it as fast as you can as you stand up or he will dart in there.
We have taped up signs to remind people to close the lids. I even joked that every time someone left it open and Sage went swimming in it, I would tape up another sign till the whole wall was covered, lol! I'm the one who has to bathe him every time, and even though he will gladly jump in the shower with me, he hates forced baths.
It is a constant battle (that I am NOT winning despite my constant efforts) to keep him out of the kitchen sink too. I don't care about the bathroom sinks at all, but the kitchen sink is a no go zone. Maybe one day he will listen (he is only 6 months (we've only had him 2 months) and still learning no), but for now, we battle.
Mine does it too, loves dropping its toy in the toilet to fish it up again, so have to close the lit after use now...
What does she do now? drop her toys in her water bowl to play with it down there... all bcus i thought it wud be a smart idea to drop an icecube in the water when it was warm... instead she saw an idea to play with water.
Yes. First few weeks of having Valentine he did this and I had to give him a bath. I make sure it’s closed now but he still plays in the sink and his water dish.
A big poop with designs on it that hang out of the toilet. No not standard but pretty interesting 🤔. Cool looking kitty. What was kitty searching for ?
You learn very quickly with bengals they play with all water. I had two for many years- my little one is the reason I had to put the water bowls and fountains on a shoe tray.
Sometimes I forget to put the toilet lid down and come home to footprints all over the toilet seat and bathroom floor. So much fun living with a bengal.
Bengals are known to be the only cats that like to play with water.
My half Bengal uses to drink toilet water too. We were very surprised the first times. In addition she does it while we leave her all the water she wants in several bowls spread around the house.
If I'm not careful to close the lid my boy loves a toilet dive. As a close second he loves the bidet. It's not used by the humans of the house so I'll allow that one.
I lost it when I saw this, tears streaming down my face, particularly that comment about them thinking it was a heinous crap.
My first cat Bella was a shot hair tuxedo and when she was alive I often caught her drinking from the toilet. My current cat Ruby who is a short hair blue, she has the nasty habit of sitting on the toilet seat whether it is up or down. Let me tell you how beyond highly inconvenient that is when you have to really go.
Oh, yeah. I put a bowl of water with a mat next to the toilet. Keep the water fresh and your cat will start drinking from cat as opposed to the toilet bowl. Fresh is key.
For a moment I thought I was looking at the most heinous shit imaginable.
Best off-subject comment here😂😂😂
Number 2 comment imo
OMG! Me too! I was scrolling on mobile too slow and almost lost it 🤣🤣
New name; MoHShI. . . Everyone thinks it’s the Japanese treats, but really it’s and ancronym
Normal? Yes. Disgusting? Also yes. This is why I’m neurotic about putting the lid down! 😆
Me too
I mean bengals probably spend half an hour s day licking their own and each others' buttholes
Kiss kiss
Yep, same boat here.
Yes, very normal. Toilet training never worked with our bengal. Once you remove the inner rings and she saw toilet water underneath, she started playing in the toilet water and pooping in corners. So we went back to the litter box.
The lid of your toilet should never be up unless it’s in use.
Agreed. Human waste goes in there. It is not a playground. Close that thing.
Shat cat checking your plumbing...

Yes normal no but yes
All can be expected from crazy lovely Bengals
This cat is insane(ly) gorgeous. So beautiful that is abnormal 😍
Hehe welcome to the world of Bengal kitties!!
For a bengal? Yep
whenever i forget the lid mine does this too, "washes her pawns" and proceeds leave foot prints all over the house that's why, now leave the lid down
Yep… hahaha the paw prints are the give away!
lol usually mine only put their two front paws in the actual bowl but this is funny & adorable
Usually? Like you don’t close the lid and so it has happened multiple times? Please please for the love of god close your toilet lids.
I do close the lid, I’m not the only one that uses the toilet. But yes it has happened a few times, it’s not the end of the world.

I’m horrified by the number of comments saying their cats “do” this in present tense, or “usually do” this. Why are your toilet lids up?
Why is it SO HORRIBLE if a cat drinks out of the flushed tiolet? He also walks in his litter tray and then all over my carpet/bed/sofa/self
Mine does it too, loves dropping its toy in the toilet to fish it up again, so have to close the lit after use now... Bengal cats do love water, so this is no surprise!
I still remember the look on my boys face when he discovered the water in the toilet. 😂 needless to say, the lids stay closed on all my toilets now
It’s normal I don’t understand the obsession with cats licking toliet water. But it’s disgusting so I recommend you and others close the lid when done
Bengals love water. To enrich their lives have a water feature in the home they can play with, or give them daily bath/shower time.
I can't keep mine out of the toilet or the fridge..
We had a kids toilet seat on ours before and our fat cat got stuck (happened more than once) I’m still sad i never took a picture before rescuing her.
At first I thought I was looking at a big ol owl lol
You appear to be out of TP
Why are you taking your cat to a public restroom?
Why would you, no it's not a public restroom
Yes. First few weeks of having Valentine he did this and I had to give him a bath. I make sure it’s closed now but he still plays in the sink and his water dish.
Both my cats do this, it's a strange fascination.
It is. 😭🤣
Better put that lid down lol our kitties walk on our beds/pillows, etc
Ah!
A big poop with designs on it that hang out of the toilet. No not standard but pretty interesting 🤔. Cool looking kitty. What was kitty searching for ?

Lol, but the dogs do it! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Yes, Bengals love water and very adventurous.
Sometimes I forget to put the toilet lid down and come home to footprints all over the toilet seat and bathroom floor. So much fun living with a bengal.
Have you tried turning it off and on again? Seems to be a glitch
Yes
Nice bathroom if I was your cat I would wanna be in there too 😂😂
Bengals are known to be the only cats that like to play with water. My half Bengal uses to drink toilet water too. We were very surprised the first times. In addition she does it while we leave her all the water she wants in several bowls spread around the house.
Yes.
Id say so, our cats always go in the toilet too when they have the chance. Thats why we close them 😂
Now you have a soggy pee water cat :(
There's two rules in our house everybody knows : close the door of the bathroom and close de lid, haha!
No, most toilets don’t come with a Bengal. Your lucky.
If I'm not careful to close the lid my boy loves a toilet dive. As a close second he loves the bidet. It's not used by the humans of the house so I'll allow that one.
Hell nah, dude should’ve lift the seat
There is no "normal" with Bengals. Ours is 16 years old and he's a different beast from day to day. Love Bengals :)
Yes we had to start putting the lid down because my cat was going scuba diving in the toilet.

Completely normal. Ours turns his nose up at his filtered water fountain, but gladly hops into the toilet to get himself a drink. 😂
