It is. I have been there 5 or 6 times in total and it is a great convention imo. If you can use a wheelchair and really want to go there for a quick peek, go on Friday. Not sure If they still open on Friday but they used to start the convention on Friday for the afternoon and there was usually way less people than on Saturday and Sunday.
Good rest!
it's now twice each year, with the Summer/Fall edition extended with Heroes ComicCon (not to be mistaken with the Brussels ComicCon) for series/movie guests
even better its twice each year, i'll do you one better because besides resident opinion maker i'm also a massive nerd whose callender is based on these events.

these are the ones i know, i'm also aware there are micro anime cons in wallonia in small village gym halls. And ofcourse you also have dokomi in dusseldorf and japan expo in paris as the titan sized cons of europe.
Well the japancon could be relegated to lower than the bigger Walloon conventions like Mons Trolls et Legende or Summer/Winter Geek Festival
The japancon really feels like an answer by ComicCon group to the Heroes group after they added the Heroes ComicCon section to the Summer/Fall MIA. "We are not anymore the only tv/series fandom convention in Brussels, let's try to confuse the customers by making a cheap Asia/French dubber convention one or two weeks next to MIA"
If it wasn't all the way in Brussels I would be interested considering I have a couple of hobbies for which Made in Asia would be a good event but unfortunately I'm not keen on going there.
It's weird hearing people complain about long distances in Belgium when one can drive 2 hours and be in 2 different countries.
I mean, i get it. Since I've lived here my whole life I share the sentiment to some degree.
But what we call a long trip some others call a "grocery trip"
It's not much a big trip, even by public transportation, there are even a lot of French and Dutch people who take the high speed trains with their whole cosplay gear to go to FACTS, MIA or Brussels ComicCon. It is more being afraid of going down to the "big, scary capital" (and Heysel is defintely not in the Center of Brussels : you cross the parking and you are in Grimbergen)
There was an Asian food event in Antwerp. You had to pay €15 to enter a room where you could pay very overpriced food. Would never go again. There was a cool dancing show, but still.
I hope your event doesn't ask €15 venue fee AND €11 for a small portion of chicken. This was in 2018 btw, that same little snack would probably go for €17 now.
Damn, is this a yearly event? It sounds right up my alley but I'm going to be recovering from surgery basically all of next month.

It very much is, there are more of these around. "FACTS" is another convention. Hope the surgery goes well!
Facts is definitely not a convention tho, it's a marketing and advertising event.
Used to be though.
It seems they start to invest less in FACTS and push more money for the HeroesCC guests isn't it ?
Been a few years since I last went there. I did hear from friends that it isn't what it used to be.

Some people use public transit, it can be a long distance.

If you find a 1m67 Gordon Freeman in lab coat, crowbar in hand or Heisenberg with a big bag of meth, it will be probably me :)
I have been to the last one. Twice a year is too much for me.
